- The last song in my garden "Dunmore Lassies" is played on the "Low Whistle": mysterious and one of my favourites!
I think the atmosphere goes very well with this song.
Yours, David

The musicians of Rapalje with their wild hair and medieval kilts create a flaming energy with their enthusiasm and motivation. With sensitive ballads, fiery songs and vivacious Celtic melodies Rapalje electrifies their audience. A concert of Rapalje is like a journey through time with recognizable licentiousness and a rough way of life.

I wish I could give more than one like to this video.
How does this only have a bit over 200 likes?!!? This is the most beautiful music ever. Such an amazing rendition!
Beautiful.
This song hits me on a spiritual level every time. Always feel a strong desire to meditate, whenever I hear it. Would love to hear it live some time ❤️
Last time I heard David play a little piece of the song with the soundcheck at Middeleeuws Winschoten.. overwhelmingly beautiful
Wish I found this before. Your low whistle playing is heavenly, the trills and ornaments in the music are executed so well. Songs like this make me wish I could be there in person, to learn and listen about cultures besides my own. Truly lovely, beautiful job David and friends!
That ping on the end, really did it. :) This song is one of my favorites.
Yeah I like how he magically produces it out of nowhere for the ping. Excellent touch
David is not only a fantastic piper, but he is also great on the Low Whistle. "The Butterfly", "Dunmore Lassies", and "Strayaway Child" are all beautifully played.
I live in London but originally come from Poland and Celtic music&culture have lots of enthusiasts in my country!
I remember this beautiful song was played on one of historical festivals in a place called Malbork ( huge castle there) and it was performanced by Polish band called Carrantuohill. That was 2003 and I will always remember this song. Magnificent!!
Thank you for adding.
Regards from London.xx
Good stuff keep it up
This is brilliant! First time I've heard someone playing this beloved reel (one of my favourites) as good as The Chieftains. And the setting is perfect!
sounds so damn good. What brand of whistle is he playing ?
edit: found out its a Chieftain Thunderbird if anyone els was wondering.
Falken that’s awesome to know as I have the exact one coming in the mail!
It's a real magic atmosphere: beautiful melody, sounds of fire, kindness of your hearts. Thank you so much!!! You are wonderful, love your music so much! 💚 😻
I love it! Greetings from Germany

Awesome! These guys did are great cover. I'm glad Stephanie featured them.
Just came from that channel, lovely track :) 👏👏👏
Great job on this powerful peace. It’s sounds better when it’s played at this speed.
LOVE IT.
I need to learn this tune. Loved the video and the "bell"(Or I think it's a bell) at the end was fantastic haha
I really love this tune. I played it at 'De Kleine Ark' in Oud Karspel yesterday, on my tin whistle. It was amazing. Someone played along on his low whistle.
Fantastic my friend. Very well done indeed. Thank you so much for this classic played with such skill. Sláinte mhaith!
Great sounding whistle, and a lovely tune, well played, will have to try it slow, many thanks.
Wunderschön ❤️
This is so good, lovely tempo and rhythm and great slow build with introduction of other instruments.
I love it! Beautiful! Glan gle! I want to go to your session... That right there is Tir na Nog where all the musicians who ever played still linger in the music that lightens the hearts of generations circled up around the fire night after night after night.
Absolutely amazing!!
I loved it!!

Nicely done!
Thanks seacoastlife
What is the wind instrument the cittern player is playing? Is it some sort of pan pipe?
this is my fav performance of this piece!
sorry "tune" haha -- spot the classical flautist
Could not have been dunmore well
Your boy drumming on the bodhran looks like one of the dwarves from The Hobbit.
Oh my gosh, that’s so funny - I was thinking the exact same thing. 😆
Looks like he should be in the cast of “Vikings”
Would some be able to tell me what drum that is? I'm learning this song on whistle and my dad wants to drum. Thank you in advance
It is a bodhran.
High culture
Wow 😯 what century was this played in?
What key is your low whistle in?
D I believe.
Hebben jullie ook bladmuziek zodat we thuis liedjes kunnen naspelen? Dat zou heel gaaf zijn!
Super gaaf
Dank je Klaziena Vos vanvos!
Very nice rendition of Dunmore Lasses, too often played too fast to impart any feeling or mood to the music.
