Actually Colonel Robertson is a speeded up version of various older melodies. Listen to Robert Burns’ Sweetest May for example, or Merry hae I been teething a Heckle where the instruction on the page (JSMM) is ‘slowly’. Blow the Wind Southerly’ comes from the same tune family.
