JB, Thank you for the in depth review and unboxing. Your review was one of the few I could find of the SJ55W on YT. I was a little hesitant on ordering one due to the lack of reviews but you help convince me to take the plunge. I've had my monitor for about 24 hours and its awesome, very happy with the purchase. For Anyone looking to buy one, Costco has them on sale for $270 until 2/21/21, no membership required.

This is a huge factor for purchasing, I think it would get more hits if you tag the review with multi-device function that mimics a KVM switch for much cheaper.

LS34J550WQUXEN is the model number of the one I saw, I noticed the one you linked was slightly different towards the end of the model number, I also noticed you said it was 75Hz, but the "LS34J550WQUXEN" one is described as 60Hz everywhere I look? @@Feanan. ok so that is the region that changes those last numbers and it your right it doesn't list it at 75htz. But mine absolutely does run in 75htz and does list 75hz. So either its a miss print or its not Unlocked for your region. Of course Unless you buy the exact model as i have i cant guarantee the 75hz but My guess is its a miss print as with identical specs zero reasons to be different.

This monitor seems to be the best overall. I will be connecting it to my laptop, and I want something that is good for work or gaming. This monitor seems better suited to multitasking vs the Spectre. I just bought this monitor and i am using as 2 split monitor on HDMI1 and HDMI2. I am trying to connect my steam deck dock on the Display port with a DP to hdmi cable i bought from Amazon, but i getting to work I only see blank screen. Any ideas , as to why i am getting a blank screen on the display port connection.

Then the outsourcing has to be turned down as that dp to HDMI cables can't run high quality. Usually at best 4k 30hz but many 1080p. Can you use the PBP mode with the same computer? Not just two different systems but the same computer. I want to save the hassle of having two different monitors/powercords/etc. Cheers great vid!

Make sure the the computer you are using is compatible with those resolution. Next make sure your hdmi and your Dp cables are also capable of those resolutions. Next follow my Setup in this video and turn to hdmi 2 and dp ports to max also ise these specifically they have higher 75hz then turn the to port to the latest specs under settings. If it still does not work its most likey your computers resolution ability but hopefully this will be a easy fix and it would be the issue😇

In this video i show how it goes together and i show the stand up close etc. I'm not sure of the arm attachment is universal to all Monitors? Thanks for the great videos! Can you cover how to vesa mount this thing? There are two ways to remove the stand, I am not sure what the right way is for vesa mounting. One way is to wiggle and tug the bottom off. The other way is to unscrew the base with the two screws in the bottom. But when you do the two screws method it exposes three slots that go into the monitor. Im not sure if that is ok or not or if thats the right way to remove this base. Samsung cant tell me, the directions dont state it, its not in the user manual..... can you please help? Thank you for being awesome! In a world where companies dont support their own products you are a God send.

To install a versa mount remove everything to do with stand including the little arm. Also let me teach you a trick about Samsung products that is extremely helpful and it seems like Samsung's customer service doesn't even realize this download the Samsung store app click on shopping click on computers click on monitors and you will come to this beautiful monitor at the top you will see product specs and reviews now click on specs scoll all the way down and at the very bottom you will see something that says warranty and user manual next to user manual click on download next scroll up to page 17 and it will show you specific instruction you can find this for all Samsung products and it will give you information that no one will know and does not come with the product😉💯 here is the link to get you started 34" SJ55W Ultra WQHD Monitor

@@JbTechFanatic I have another question, when i am in PIP/ PBP mode is there a way for me to move or minimize the sub window like you can with a remote desktop window or is it always statically there? I saw the 4 options for placement in PIP mode but i would love to be able to stretch the window or contract it or even minimize it when I dont need it right there. I hope I said all that right :)
Through the picture in picture mode you can do up to 25 percent of the screen and move it around 😉 if you want full resolution in pbp that stays. But yes you can do exactly what you want

HDMI 2 Port is what you need to do to get the higher refresh rate so make sure to plug that in once it is go ahead and do your settings and then go to your Xbox and try to switch your settings. you can even switch it to audio video mode to make it more like a TV screen if you'd like. but without DisplayPort only one HDMI supports the 75 Hertz. I believe that is why you're not getting it. so just flip to the other HDMI and you should be good to go. as far as the settings you can stick to what I show in the video you should be fine😉 let me know

Then you need to adjust the resolution of the Xbox itself to the highest available then click video modes and check any boxes available in your xbox display options that allow you and your good to go😉 make sure video fidelity and overscan is set to auto and enjoy 😉

JB I am a little confused. I want to purchase this but how can this be advertised as a 34" monitor the specs you read indicate that the actual screen is 31" plus and the physical dimensions of the units is 32+. So, I need to know where is the 34 inches. By the way superb presentation. Will you please help me with this. One other thing would you not prefer an IPS screen on your ultra-wide. I do not think this is an IPS screen?

In this case it measured exactly 34 i measured it with my measuring tape. In the case of this having A VA panel honestly it is a amazing monitor deep blacks vivid colors and crisp text. Is the picture so poor at 17 minutes(contrast blown out and highlights lost) simply because of your crazy high brightness and contrast settings? Can you get detail back by lowering these settings? Can you overclock the input? What is the Freesync range?
The picture on this Monitor is clear and the contrast is not blown out what you are seeing is the editing software change the look. Then it's impossible to see what this truly looks like through a RUclips video. It comes down to what resolution you're watching it on what device you're watching it on Etc. But that portion of the video is playing an older video. But With the 3,000 to 1 contrast ratio as well as the native resolution it truly is amazing with the backlit technology versus edge lit even if you slide brightness all the way up you will not have a washed-out look like you will on a lot of the older technology Monitor or TVs. This Monitor produces deep dark blacks great contrast ratios and easy to read sharp format. Example in the standard format if you turn contrast all the way up to 100 it will not make your picture look weird colors like in the past. What I'm saying is what you're seeing is not what it truly looks like I recommend finding maybe a store that sells this Monitor and you can go check it out and see it with your own eyes I'm not saying you might not want to adjust it to your own ways everybody's different but I'm just saying that's not something to worry about. As far as full specifications Go part 1 covers each one of those in detail but as far as overclocking this monitor 75 Hertz I believe is the max uses either standard and the ultimate freesync format.
Hey good video, you said I can plug in different video sources with the PBP mode for example an xbox 360 to one input source and then have my computer in the other, I wonder if I would be able to record the screen of the xbox 360 with OBS without having to buy a separate video capture.
Yes you definitely can split screens. I have not tried screen recording like that. If you do it please let me know if it works 🙂

If you want to use to separate HDMI for two separate inputs of want to run like the multi-monitor experience example the video that would work if your PC is compatible with multi monitors
I’ll be very specific. It’s an old Arcade video game (X-MEN, 6 Player) that originally uses two CRT monitors. Each monitor has its own input from the game board. One of the monitors displays the picture in a mirrored image because the cabinet actually uses a mirror to flip the image so that it has a continuous smooth image with the other monitor. So, I’m trying to find an alternative to this which would be a single monitor that can handle two separate inputs.. and this does that. The only issue is the mirrored image. As long as the monitor is able to “mirror/flip” the one input, it will work.
Hi!, I have an MacBook Pro 13inch 2013 with two thurderbolt 2 ports that officially supports two QHD through displayport, has anyone connected such laptop to an WQHD monitor ? my thougth is that if teoretically supports dual QHD may support one WQHD.

Thank you for your video. I have this monitor and the size and resolution is wonderful and super immersive. I don't get what the game mode is actually doing, besides locking me out of the color settings. Could you clarify?
It depends on your graphics card and if your using freesync or g-sync depending on your monitor. But what it does is basically focus on latency and screen tearing and gives you the fastest response time available. But sometimes for average gamers like myself i honestly can leave it off and get more use out of vivid colors ect from my own settings. When you get into insane gaming monitors with crazy refresh rates ect then it makes a massive difference. But i encourage you to enjoy whatever way suits you best 😉

so my question to you is any 16/9 aspect ratio can be made to fill the screen?
You can stretch to fit in wide mode if your pc has the function. Otherwise it puts it dead center in the middle of the screen and solid black on both sides but still gives you probably about a 24 inch monitor experience when it's in regular 16 by 9 aspect radio without stretching it

Great video but if you turn on the game mode , it overwrites all the settings you so carefully changed . Why go through the trouble when you just turn on game mode pre set . ? I'm asking because I wanted to make my monitor look its best when gaming but game mode overwrites the settings

I understand running hdmi 2 will allow for 75hz when gaming.
My set up will be using an Nvidia 2070 Super GPU. To make this work with freesync I need to use Display port right? what hz would that be through using DP?

Yes you would simply go into your graphics card and either have it set as 2 independent screens or have it copy the other screen to do the same. but once you plug in two separate HDMI and turn on picture by picture your computer or graphics card will assume it's a separate monitor😉

Yes correct its a ultra wide Monitor so windows 10 recommends 300 percent. If you leave it at 100 it will be so tiny its not easy to see. Depending on your settings it will not fill up the wide surface leaving black bars. Its all a matter of preference But i will adjust depending upon what mode I'm using. Like side by side mode I will drop it down.
Freesync only works with amd graphics cards...

Nvidia GPU's now support freesync you must use a display port cable though. But this is called adaptive sync😇

Turning on freesync completely freezes system.
Do you have a pc with Freesync Compatability? Also did this just start happening? Does your pc freeze or the screen?
@@JbTechFanatic it's an Nvidia RTX 2060 laptop. switching on freesync freezes the whole system requiring turning off freesync on the monitor and a reboot.
I thought freesync w Nvidia would just just be inefficient not cause a it to lock up. Other than that it's a decent monitor easily overclocked and not bad at gaming w/ vsync on.

Weird... what kind of cable do you use hdmi or dp and does it support the resolution and freesync? Also check the drivers updates to enable G sync freesync the adaptive sync is were The problem might be? Lol so hard to explain through text . @@JbTechFanatic laptop has Mini-dp and HDMI so im using a Mini-dp to dp cable. I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers 4/12//2021 v27.21.14.6611. It is really weird, not sure what could be the cause. It may just be the monitor itself. I'm considering exchangeing it for another one at costco. But even w/o that option it's a good buy at $269.
