Yes different rivers seem to have different coloured fish but even in the same stream they can vary, must be a background/camouflage thing. If your happy catching small fish just because of the challenge then dartmoor is a fantastic place for fly fishing. Just occasionally it can throw up a surprise though in the form of a 2 or even 3 pounder, sadly never for me.
Looks like my sort of stream Davie 👍 just like on Dartmoor the wee buggers are indeed to bloody fast.
Dartmoor is a place I'll have to visit Chris, some beautiful scenery. I notice some of the trout can be quite dark in colour there.
