Hello from Australia, I enjoyed your video very much. Beautiful stream and fine music. Small stream fishing for wild brown trout is something you cant top. I fished a local small stream yesterday and caught/released a small 9'' wild brown trout. Must agree that a wild brown trout can be stunningly beautiful. Cheers, Steve.
griffin .3006 I'm here in the western US but I think flies are applicable worldwide. I small streams the trout tend to be opportunistic feeders so matching the hatch may not be a requirement. I use pheasant tail, hares ear, prince nymph and copper John in size 16-18.
Hi, I fish all of these small wild streams on the Wye and Usk Foundation website. I would recommend a rod of between 7' to 7'6" in length for a 3 wt line. On some swims rods of 5' to 6'6" may be required because of the bank side vegetation.
Hi Keith. Good point. We try to balance getting good footage with good fish care. This was one of the first films we made and are trying to do as much best practise as possible. We will make mistakes from time to time as do many anglers. Thanks for watching and commenting and we hope you will watch more of our films and comment on them. Many Thanks. Nicky
Really great nice place for fishing and Camping !!! I would like to be with you

Thanks mate. its always exciting to get onto the river.
Looks idyllic. Can you drive up to the river bank and camp anywhere by the river? Or are there designated wild camping spots?
Great video. Subscribed! I fish a similar river without much luck and was wondering what flies you would recommend for wild brown trout?

Riley Milligan Hi Riley. Great to hear you like the film. We were using several different weight rods. 2 to 4 weight. Tight Lines. Nicky
awesome thank you for the reply and the video
If you really don't want to damage fish ,dont handle, don't net , just tweak barbless hook out in the water !

Picking up fish with one hand causes damage resulting in a 70 to 80% death rate within 3 days.
Hi Pat, Thanks for letting us know. Can I ask you where you got this information from please.
