More great advice, thanks. I have listened and implemented a number of tips from Bobby, namely relaxed state (set up to swing) , commit to balance etc which I believe has helped me shoot more often and not in the mid to late 80’s compared to mid 90’s in the space of 3 months.
I have been an arm swinger for many years. Playing with an older gentleman who shot par that day he told me that if I ever learned to swing the club with the body I would be driving 300 yards consistently. I never realized my feet being to close is what hampered my body from participating in the swing. Great lesson. Thanks! Plan on joining the website.
@@767driver I hope you will let me know how it goes. Arm swinging is the biggest killer of all because it can be such a challenge to escape. But, it can be done!
I just came across your channel and have watched two videos. This one on stance and the one on alignment. I've been looking at golf videos for years and your approach and explanation made sense and hit home. I can't wait to try them both as I have lost all kinds of power and distance. Thanks.
I'm a 3 capper tried a narruh stance it gave me a sore back and bigger scores could barly break 80. Lost my low point control fat and thin shots was my new norm. My lesson from this was don't fix whats not broken
i just got back from the range where i widened my stance about 2 inches back foot and finally i was puring my irons instead of chunking them . problem is they all seem to now hook or push left . they use to go strait when i had a steeper angle of attack . i finally hit my 7 iron over 150 carry but they are going to the left and im a right handed golfer . fyi i have struggled with slice on driver since i started and have got that to come around by moving the ball back in my stance . any help ?
Bobby! 7 iron has been going 145 for over a year! I’ve turned into a mf’ing arm swinger because my hips are narrow. I just spread them apart and feel like a man again.
I hate to say it, but it’s really hard to say blindly what might be causing an issue. It would be mere guesswork on my part, and not a good thing for you most likely.
@@bobbysteinergolf I set up “closed” which is really square and got more athletic, aka wider stance. 8 I is back to 150 carry again. I’ve played 10 or so rounds my distance have all changed back to normal.
Watched this again and enjoyed it even more. But it has ruined by Gary Player step over habit and that was the only "pro" aspect of my swing that existed.....kind of miss it....
Bobby, narrowing your stance didn't work for you, but it sounds as though this less athletic less flexible senior gentleman has found something that worked for him. There are some very good teachers out there that teach this, not everyone has the ability to swing like a PGA pro, bad punt but.....different strokes for different folks

I love to know it’s helping!
Great story, great truth. "Stay centered" was the key phrase I heard on the backswing. I think this will be very helpful to me. Thanks as always!
Walt James it’s so key to stay centered on the backswing. I hope the thought of doing so will help you!

@@767driver wonderful! Please let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate your support.
Great vid, Bobby. Setting my feet just outside of my hips at address has really worked for me. I'm hitting the ball a lot farther and straighter now.
That’s great news, I love to hear it.
Love it!!! Great explanation!! Thank-you.
Thank you, glad you like it!
