I did this with and 8 iron measuring my clubhead speed. I am a one armed golfer and my 8 iron speed was around 77-80 mph, which I was happy with and I was already among the longer ones among our casual (two handed) players in the club. But I always felt like there was a power-leak, that my body should be able to produce more speed, but I could not put it into the club. It felt, metaphorically, like a car trying to accelerate on ice. I tried this power pause and my 8 iron clubhead speed went up to 90-93 mph, feeling like I am doing less effort, nothing hurts, but now the energy gets properly transfered! The timing and sequencing finally feels solid. I am still somehow in disbelief and just can't imagine that a simple pause added almost 15mph to a little mid iron. Oh and much less hooks! If there was ever a magic bullet in golf, for me, this was it.
Wow, that’s great news! And that’s pretty darned good one-armed speed! I have to know, how far do you hit your driver? I’m going to guess north of 250?
@@bobbysteinergolf thanks :) yes i would often hit 260/270 - surely much farther than the average golfer of my age and experience level (40yo and occasional summer time weekend player here and there) does with 2 arms ;)
As ever you simplify the golf swing in easy to understand bites. Love the way you put the message across. Thank you.
Thank you for saying so. I very much appreciate your support!

Excellent instruction, well presented...the instruction and the commercial. Enjoy your fine ride!
Thank you, Walt!
I can do this in other areas of my life but in the golf swing it is just so easy to get ahead of one's self.
You’re so right about that, Jeff
Great … great thought. My online instructor said I have been “spinning” my hips without any hip flexion. Interesting. Will work this on thanks.
Terrific, I hope you will keep me posted on your progress.
Excellent!
Thank you for watching!
I have been working on a pause, but this is easier and more definitive.
I think I will try this. I like the idea.
It can only help. Keep me posted!
The pause is so elusive yet when I remember how and when to let it happen it always adds club head speed.
It’s darned near magic, if as you say, a person will do it.
