    After watching countless golf lesson videos from various instructors worldwide for the past ten years, I've determined that Shawn Clement is the best. He goes beyond being a professional golf coach; his systematic approach and clear swing techniques make learning easy. What stands out the most is his incredible patience in teaching, which is truly remarkable.

    FANTASTIC!! STUPENDOUS!! INCREDIBLE!! UNBELIEVABLE!! OUTTA SITE!! MIND BLOWING!! Those are all the superlatives I can think of right now to describe what I FINALLY discovered today in my golf swing, Shawn. This was the video that did it. I have been following you off and on for 20 years, and have incorporated many of the things into my golf swing that you have recommended. I have a strong grip, head back, constant motion, focus on the target, etc., etc., but I knew that I was lacking something. I would hover the club and hit down on the ball, and had fairly consistent contact, but the distance was lacking. I am 6 months shy of 70 years old, and I thought that it was my age. Then I rediscovered this video. I practiced in the garage the rhythm of the "toss" into the backswing, and the "throw" using the LEGS not the ARMS, into the forward swing and finish. WOW!! It REALLY works!! I fired through the ball without looking and/or thinking about it, today, and the contact, distance and accuracy were all UNBELIEVABLE!! I did not manipulate the club, think about my swing positions or focus on the ball. I focused on the target and the ball did what I wanted it to do!! Well....most of the time; but this is the first time I REALLY focused on the "Kinetic Chain" swing. And it WORKS!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you have taught me over the years. I FINALLY get it!! At least for today!!! LOL!! LOL!! LOL!!

    Can't believe how I've golfed without utilizing the squat the last few years. Broke my trail ankle a few years ago and have had several surguries and lost a lot of ankle flexion and slowly stopped squatting and started using a more lateral sway to get power. Really working on allowing the lower body to squat down and use the ground, can't believe how much better I'm able to access the target now. Will take some work but already seeing the benefit

    Aloha. I love your presentation style. Very logical and I find it easy to follow. I believe one of the best things your doing in your video is showing the viewer how you stay behind the ball with both your body and your eyes. I believe too many beginning golfers try too hard to “see” the target in the backswing causing mishits. (two guys I played with yesterday would be so much better if they stopped trying to see the target before they actually make contact with the ball)

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад

      Best way to do this is to have an intermediate point and to see the “blur of club” and be able to predict that this blur will be delivering the ball over the intermediate point; thus keeping you in the shot without having to look at the “distant target”
      Our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com has an amazing series called “arc blur” (search those words in the search box on the site) and see also the original “blur of club” and “goldie locks series” which is all about how to predict if the ball is in the way of your swing or not.

    There was a British golf writer back in the '70's called Mr. "X" who had a newspaper tip every week, and he wrote a book about his golf theories, and I recall he described this exaggerated lower body motion you use with a kettlebell as an "um-cha-cha, um-cha-cha" kind of thing that was actually the hallmark of a well-known pro back in the day (Max Faulkner?) and your back and through movement is just what I pictured - wish I had that book - Mr. X was ahead of his time.

    Yes sir as expected another great video. The up & down or squat can only come from knees. If it comes from hips it is a swing fault. It is a fault that plegs so many amateurs in both the backswing and downswing. Squat was the key word here for sure. Would you define squat in the downswing as not only a change in knee flex but a separation of the knees ? Do you feel that lead thigh pulling in the downswing ? Sorry for the techical questions but my mother dropped me as an infant and permanently damaged the wiring upstairs.
    Thanks Shawn

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад +2

      Yes, the kinetic chain engages with the lead leg; it separates from the trail leg as the first move (naturally) and the chain comes up the body to pull the arms and club through and towards the direction you want to start the ball (if you stay with that task of course)

    Shawn, great advice! and I certainly would like to send the ball out like you. My challenge is getting the club to precisely come in at the ball and hit ball first then turf while "throwing the club". My brain wants to protect my hand and I top it ,and try to correct it ,and then hit it fat. How do you get such a precise strike in throwing the club?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад

      How can you stay with throwing the club to the direction you want to start the ball when you are worried about contact with the ball? Impossible right? What you need is a prediction process and a task mastery. You can see “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement” but I would recommend you get with our premium channel (it’s only $9.95 per month) at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see the following titles:
      -lead hand release
      -trail hand release
      -release fine tuning
      -snap release polish
      Then when you have identified that feel of that snap, see “the throwing series” to get good engagement from the legs (without thinking) and “turbo charge the lead hand release and trail hand release”
      THEN SEE “predict contact” and “the goldie locks series” to get FULL MASTERY of prediction in the golf swing and you will feel so much more comfortable at address knowing that ball is perfectly in the way of the swing.
      FINALLY, see “target confirmation series” and our latest “kinetic chain facilitation series” (#6 is my all time swing engagement favourite!)

Believe me you,I will play well,I have outstanding hand eye coordination impeccably awesome,super athletic,mind boggling skills!! Hold on let me tap myself on the back! Oh I better not may dislocate my shoulder🤓 I don’t know if yourself or anyone on your staff will read this and I have yet to check out your channel in detail but if you are still active and have private lessons and or a premium program I will be making you several petro doll hairs richer!Keep up the awesome work Shawnskie!🫵🏼the man!!🏌🏽🤾🏻‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🧘🏽‍♂️👍🏻

    Question: does that mean one could choose a 100grams club shaft instead of a 60 grams shaft for better “swing feeling” and more club speed if swung properly?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад

      if you can get it in the right flex, yes! They tend to be too stiff…

    • @schmolinski2068

      @@golflessons Thanks, that's an unexpected answer...! Does that mean with increasing speed the weight of the shaft should raise? If so, what makes the difference between stiff and flex shafts?

      Yes, but you don’t focus on that! You focus on the task of delivering a nice throw in the direction you want to start the ball with a jice dose of momentum; let the brain take care of how much!

    Hey Shawn, I need help identifying where I am losing power in my swing. I have 120mph driver swing speed. But only hit my 7 iron about 150 - 155 yards on a pure hit. Any ideas?

    • @OnTheSnap1
      @OnTheSnap1 3 года назад +1

      I’d guess you are doing a much shorter back swing to make it easier to get into a good impact position. The further back you go, the easier it is to get into a flipping position at impact

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад +3

      120 is big speed my man! There is 30 yards difference between through the ball and at the ball and you are most probably swinging to deliver to the ball as your target. THE BALL IS TOTALY NOT YOUR TARGET!!! It is the intersection on the way to the real target out there! See “throwing the club shawn clement” and then “predict perfect contact and direction shawn clement” and “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement” and make sure that grip is strong enough!!

    Shawn, this really resonated with me. When I started playing at age 40 everyone was amazed that I could play good golf so quickly. I remember trying to explain to a friend that I felt heavy then light then heavy again in my feet. Unfortunately it was suggested that to get to the next level I needed lessons. Afterwards I felt like robot trying to achieve certain positions at certain points in the swing. The pro told me I was too leggy and to imagine my legs and feet where in concrete. Needless to say I lost all the fun I was having and give up golf until just a couple of months ago. You’re description of levitating and waiting for the club to catch up with me is like the light turning on again. Thank you so much for this. 👍🏌🏿‍♂️🏌🏿‍♂️

And in stark contrast, his poor dad is trying to emulate it while fighting off bad swing thoughts and habits he's developed in over a decade of playing golf. smh

    My mind goes loop when i watched this 🤔❓I mean to me Bryson is very rotational swing. Club shallows in the dowswing and very big lower body rotation trough. Kenny Perry is much more upright and use much more arm levers to create speed. Maybe different tasks? Though both use squat and ground very well 👍
