Wow, the thought of squating by hinging back really helps. It gives me way more room so I don't get jammed on the down swing and can extend my arms and get long. My club speed with a 9i went up 5mph instantly.

This is amazing. It is as if you know the issue I am struggling without having looked at my swing. I was losing 1-2 clubs distance with mid to long irons as a result of slightly changing my stance to stand further away from the ball.

This squat and rotate is so important. one thing i would add is that if you are addressed on the impact plane then you actually can and should stay lower. if you are conventional and closer to the ball the rotation will include straightening the lead leg. But everyone who is struggling with bad shots needs to invest time into understanding this sitting and rotating move. every pro talks about it. even moe norman said the first move is down in a sitting position. you dont need to slide the hips or spin them, and its not arms only. its a blend of sitting and rotating

Excellent video on the pelvis push back, this is literally what you see Tiger practicing. I was also told to 'just squat' and found it very difficult to incorporate but the hip push back is easier and makes perfect sense. Thank you!

Thank you! This swing thought has really helped my contact become more consistent.
I definitely tried "squatting" or "getting the hips to fire" with inconsistent results (thins, fats, etc), but this one video hit the right note with my downswing. I am seeing my strikes out the middle, effortless power, and really gave me the ability to let my arms loosen up for a great release.
    Keep the tips coming!

I have experimented with this on the range and added 10 yards to long irons and 5 yards to short irons. Effortlessly. Having a hard time getting this swing onto the course only because I don't feel like I have any idea where the ball is going.

Honestly I’ve never had a coach tell me to squat. They have said don’t stand up, or don’t rise up during the downswing. So what is the purpose of the proper squat and does it vary by club?

I've tried so many different versions of this and when I try the thought of the brick wall, I feel such a big disconnection between lower and upper body that it feels like my upper body has no power at all in the swing and just being dragged through the air like a rag doll.... is there any additional thoughts or moves I can do to keep that connection?

So is it really right butt cheek to wall and then left butt cheek to wall? Is that the start of the downswing and should we have a feel of keeping shoulders back as we start to rotate the left hip?

I’ve been letting the hands just float all the way down to last parallel . And that gets me to squat and rotate . Have to feel like I’m floating all the way to the ground . The pop into the ball after the lift up is amazing . No conscious thought . Just a feeling of melting into the ground 😊

If I am understanding you correctly I think this is what I've attempted to do and it's beautiful when I TRUST it. So you're saying your arms are relaxed and you are letting them swing freely and just react to the force into ground by the left foot and the rotation of the hips and torso?
Edit: rotation of hips meaning the hips getting deep with left cheek going back. Arms doing nothing but reacting and whipping through?
