So I put out a poll on here and on Instagram, to see whether to divide this long video into 2. It was a close call on Instagram but the long version still won. So, here are some timestamps to help you jump to the parts of interest. I suggest grabbing a cup of something yummy, perhaps listening while doing other things, or maybe, splitting the video into little parts for yourself if you're one of the people that prefer shorter videos.
    00:00 Intro
    00:59 Dungarees?

    50:34 Negatives of RUclips?
I tried to pick the most common questions and haven't been able to answer all of them but I will do another Q&A another time if I seem to be getting a lot of questions from you guys. I have answered things on; my art process and painting process, artist confidence, imposter syndrome, my grey hair transition, printing art prints process, finding your style as an artist, creative daily practices, art and van life, the pros and cons of having a RUclips channel, Patreon and why I started and even my dungarees and green smoothies!
Thanks so much for watching and all the lovely comments and connections.

I agree!!!!! I stumbled upon this channel because I was drawn to Wendy's hair - it's so much like mine. I gasped when I saw her. I had the same dye "journey" - went cold turkey. First five months sucked and I looked pretty ridiculous and had to deal with people mistaking me as my daughter's granny. I had many people doubt my decision and some became angry with me. It was the weirdest thing! And then, right after I finished my journey, silver hair became popular with the younger generation. I actually had several women stop me and ask me where I got my hair dyed. Ha ha! Anyway... It's one of the best decisions I made (I started going gray at 19 years old - dyeing it for that many years, it was getting to the point where I wasn't fooling anyone, y'know?).

I chucked the dye a couple of years ago now. I’ve had my hair all sorts of colours ending with chocolate brown before I stopped dyeing it so my transition was a bit Cruella 😆 but I cracked on with it and I’m now grey and groovy two maybe three years now. Better than the broken hair I had which got much worse during and post menopause. I even shaved it over the first lockdown...💃 🤭

I love your hair. I stopped dying my hair this time last year. And while the line of demarcation is driving me crazy, I’m glad I had the courage to do it. The chemicals in hair dye have been linked to breast cancer, and you’re right, they are horrible for the environment as well. I have been dying my hair for 20 years in order to hide premature gray. I hated having to cover up roots every few weeks. I feel more authentic and free now. Everyone says I am letting myself go but I think the final result will be lovely. Thanks for your videos !

I discovered you during the SW Michigan/USA COVID lockdown. I am SO appreciative of your videos right now. It's a long story but I had to give up my wonderful studio 2 1/2 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with cognitive decline and we had to leave our home and property. I had owned the White Oak Studio & Gallery for 10 years (that I designed and built) (and was part of the Blue Coasts Artists Working Studio Artists for over 10 years. I am a visual artist and former hand paper maker using the plant plants I grew and processed. I have missed my studio terribly When we downsized and moved to a small condo I did keep my journaling supplies and the physical journals themselves. This winter I got them back out and began again. I would like you to discuss different brands of journals and the papers they contain. I have been using my favorite brand that of journal that contain watercolor papers in it. My work is a blend of collage, hand-constructed handmade journals, and a kind of scrapbooking. My journaling is the the one creative thing I can do in my tiny condo on a tiny desk. I'll be watching!

Hello Donna, I too am a Michigander. So sorry for your change in cicumstances. I live in a townhouse and use part of my basement as a studio, but more often I work at drawing, sketching, watercoloring, etc. in my livingroom with my art supplies piled nearby. (Bless my mess.) I hope you get some time outdoors...for yourself, your health & your spirit. One thing I've been doing to stay art-connected during covid is to join live online art workshops. I've found some that are very inexpensive, informative, and I get to live chat with other artists, so it's also fun!

I remember when you began growing your hair out and what a big process it was for you. It amazed me that it was four years ago. I had only just begun to art journal seriously and you were so encouraging of me.
I had the same experience as a classroom teacher Wendy. It literally nearly killed me and I am sure was the reason I got fibromyalgia and other autoimmune co-morbidities. Fortunately I was near to retirement and was able to manage my health better and to really get into my art.
I so admire you and James for selling up and running away in your van. I really wanted to run away too and I did so by actually designing and having my home built. It was, and still is, my hideaway haven. I did have a 4 week runaway adventure in Cyprus before I retired though. That was an amazing Shirley Valentine experience!

I so loved watching this! You are an utter delight and a genuine treasure of the internet -- I will be forever grateful to the youtube algorithm for showing my your videos (which is saying something as I LOATHE the very idea of algorithms on an ideological level :D). I'm only just finding my way back to art and art journaling after a few years' break and you inspire me to keep exploring and keep being curious.
I would LOVE to hear more about your hair journey -- I'm about 25% grey (according to my hairdresser) and am waffling back and forth on the to-colour-or-not-to-colour idea....not really to cover up the grey, but to express myself with something funky. I think I'm just impatient for it to be more grey lol. Would also love to hear more about van life...about your personal transformation/insights and journey...art, for me, is as much about the exploration as the expression so I'm always curious about the inner world of an artist. Thank you for sharing your world....so much. xo

However I am a perfectionist by nature and art allows me to be messy and make mistakes.. and to learn that IT'S OK. Ypur art is truly free and I absolutely enjoy your art and all your videos. Thank you for all that you show us. Art is and can be such a private process and showing it is such a vulnerable thing because you're opening yourself up to others not understanding it or liking it. I've recently found your channel and it's like hanging out with the big sister I never had (being the eldest!) because there are so many little snippets of advice in there, and your manner is so natural and conversational. I was made jobless by covid this Christmas, so I've just started painting again after a long break, with a view to sell, and my confidence has been the biggest challenge. It was interesting how you spoke about finishing a painting being the hardest part for you. For me, it's about halfway through. I get to a point where I start over thinking it, and only learnt yesterday to STEP AWAY! I walked away from my painting yesterday halfway through with a plan to finish it today, and it felt so unnatural then, but looking at it this morning fresh, I'm pleased I did. I can see what I need to do much more clearly.
I'm also still in work mode. After years in education, mostly as a primary teacher, I still seem to have the mentality that if I'm not on my knees with stress, I'm not working hard enough. You talking about a process really helps that. Thank you for all your content. I'm enjoying working my way through it.

Firstly Wendy thank you so much for keeping your eyes on the road when you are talking in the car, so many people seem to keep turning their heads to talk to the camera (we can hear you all quite well without you doing this). Thank you for being you Wendy. No such thing as Wendy waffle, I could listen to you all day..and often do, I just keep playing your videos while I paint. I would love to see you do more of your art (painting or journalling) but guess thats a patreon thing which isnt in my buget, so thanks for what we get here. Why has your channel grown??? --- Well thats because you are such a beautiful soul, with a gentle voice and kind nature. There is no "look at me arent I clever" we all just accept who you are and what you do because we love you.💜
I do wonder why people ask you such personal questions, I think thats very invasive to your privacy..why is you hair grey, how old are you, why did you stop RUclips etc etc...seriously what has that to do with art or journal making. I would have thought that would be a negative for RUclips. I have looked at dozens of channels and nowhere else do people ask such things...time to stop people, I feel they are taking advantage of your generosity and niceness Wendy. I thank you for your past videos and for those to come. I asked recently if you paint those big canvases which are usually turned towards the wall, and in this video I see that you do and what I see they are lovely, as was that small square white one with 2 faces you took off your easel. Have a lovely day and keep smiling that beautiful smile cheers from Western Australia 🤗🦘🦘🦘🙏🙏

THANK YOU Sooo much for your teacher comments and explanation. I am an art teacher and you are so right. The craziness that goes with education can definitely cause a sense of disillusionment. I have been teaching for 18 years and I do still love it. I have learned to make sure I make time for Me and to say no to nonsense.

I have been binge watching your videos all morning...I think the reason your channel is blowing up us because you are just so lovely. It’s the RUclips equivalent of cozy socks, a good book, and a hot beverage, which is actually more rare than you’d think. Your hair is GORGEOUS; I have been using the pandemic as a chance to grow mine out without a zillion people commenting on it or watching the growing process so I really appreciated your response. I’d love to hear more about whether you do anything to keep the white/gray brighter (like a purple shampoo or toner??), and if you style it at all or is that just your natural wave/texture. I think our hair might be quite similar (mine is also dark brown / almost black, and also part of my identity) so I’m interested in anything you have to say about it!

I love that a big question was your hair. I don't have full grey yet, but mine are coming in. I watched my mother battle the roots for sooo many years and never wanted to battle them...she would HAVE to color her hair or she would be so embarrassed about the roots. So once I noticed I had grey roots, I stopped coloring my hair. Covid has also encouraged me to stay away from my long pixie cut and I have grown out my hair, it is down to mid shoulder now. It is so healthy! I couldn't believe it! Not coloring the hair, letting it be natural, and just going with the flow has been an eye opener for me with how unhealthy hair coloring was. I mean, it is obvious it wouldn't be good for the hair, but I feel like I got twice as thick of hair once I stopped and have let it grow!
