- Transforming my Art Studio into a Sanctuary this week with Feng Shui, major decluttering, a giant tidy-up and organising all my art supplies. Lots of tips to help inspire you to just begin somewhere in creating spaces around you that bring you JOY! Just a drawer, a surface or a corner can really help lift your spirits and revitalise not just your room but also your mood and creativity too! Let's do this! I was tired and dismayed (see last week's video) but I went for it anyway and felt so much brighter, energised and less down afterwards!

Thank you for sharing your new room. My mother has just passed away 😥 She was an artist too. She did oils where I do colored pencil, watercolor & acrylics. I'm having to change my studio to accommodate her supplies. It's difficult but also ❤️ loving.
I’m watching while I’m sorting my paper bits into some kind of organise. The weather is crazy here where I live . We have thunder and it’s pouring again. After a couple of days of sunshine . I feel blessed to be dry and cozy. We’ve had some terrible floods up north from here in NSW Aussie.

While watching and listening to this I can see partly why my home has so much negative aura. There are times of chaotic calm, an oxygen moron as a dear friend described it yesterday. She hit the nail on the head making me smile, I.needed that smile.

It's dynamic to have that mirror on the L bit where you've moved it. I'd like to see your white journalling table up the end you are calling the snug and the day bed where the journalling table is now. That will soften even more the sharpness of that L corner.

Instead of a day bed, what about a cozy comfortable chair that you can cuddle up in percolate ideas with a cuppa when you just need to chill a bit, or meditate? I love the mirror there as it reflects light into the room at all angles.

I have seen this video 3 times already! It has such a lovely energy, and your feng shuing somehow has the power to make me so happy!

This world is really taking me down which i feel is selfish considering what horrendous things are happening to human beings. Wendy, I always love watching your videos, and this week you have inspired me to do a little 'Feng Shui-ing' of my own! I don't know much about it but find it quite interesting. I never knew that sitting with your back to a door wasn't ideal. I have had my little home studio laid out this way for a couple of years and not thought anything of it, but it really makes sense, so I've started by turning my desk around at a 90 degree angle to the door, and boy, it has made quite the difference!! It feels so much better creating this way , and I have a much better view! Thanks so much for the inspo, and I look forward to seeing what little tweaks I can make next! xxx

Love your videos! Just an idea… hang the mirror horizontally above your daybed in the corner. It will make your studio look larger and lighter, but check your fend shui for whether it is a space where you can have a mirror successfully and not deflect energy.
Oh my goodness, this was exactly my thought. As you go for a sit or a rest, your happy place reflected back to you.
i love your new space. I urge you to buy 2 more full length mirrors that are framed in cardboard I would say LOL LOL…. yes on the idea on how to make shelving with cardboard I need the first four steps of making a rectangle basket to get started …..thank you for the laughter the love and the inspiration that you share weekly

I love the black and white dot dress you wore in the start , people in my country wear this style of clothes. i also like that you finally declutter your stuff and make room for your creativity. :)
The space is really coming along and looking very functional. You have done a good job making a workable space out of an asymmetrical area. You asked for some suggestions, so here are mine. I like the idea of the day bed in the little snug area with the mirror hung above it to reflect light and create the impression of space. Add some nice pillows and a plant in a wall hanger. I can see this as a good place to plan, read, and drink tea. Also, a wall-mounted lamp would be helpful for reading. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I love how the moving in and nesting goes in stages. We finished our hobbyroom a couple of weeks ago and there's still some bits to organise. Things put in drawers, but not organised properly, lights to put up. But if I want I can paint or journal, the important stuff is organised and accessible, I love it. Now I have to get my husband to tidy up his half again. 😄

I use to do FS consults and it never ceased to delight me how people intuitively organised their homes/rooms in ways that just needed a bit of FS tweaking. 😇

Add a chair rail above where the day bed is going. You can just lean paintings in progress. You would have a great view with enough distance to give good perspective. Just a thought. 😊

Hello, looks lovely. With the health section its good to have it free of clutter because it relates to health. Remember to have good 'chi' flow and the mirror should reflect good things, like your plants. Just a few ideas/tips.
Just reorganized my studio, and now wanting to do yours lol!... I would put the day bed under the second window so when you lay in it you only see plants, sky, and paintings... and I would move the journaling table against the back wall where you want to put the daybed. You could then add all sorts of shelves above the table for storage. This eliminates the pinch point feeling as you turn the corner of the L, gives you plenty of foot space, and allows you a large blank wall to hang paintings and mirrors to further fill your room with light.... sorry, could resist and probably all wrong from a Feng Shui perspective. Happy painting!

I finally finished the second half of watching this video. I had to take Phineas to the groomers today and of course I had to stop at the Antique Mall... I came away empty-handed this time 😕 but there were a couple of things that I really liked that I may go back and get. I came back home and ate some leftover pizza while watching your video. I'm extremely inspired right now, but I know the minute I get started on something, they'll call to pick up my Boy 🐩
Then we'll over to Glenn's Valley nature Park to have that talk with the tree... You know the one I mentioned before, the one that almost killed my 6-year-old son 24 years ago (grabs journal). Your art journal table may need a mirror! I love the mirror in front of me reflecting the light from the window! I have a one foot by four feet (approximately) cheap door mirror i put on the table so I can still hang things on the wall!

If you tried your art journaling (aj) table under the window that would also cure the 'poison arrow' flow from the aj table corner to your office chair which is bothering me, even though it's not my space and nothing to do with me !!! It's a lovely bright, light space and I like that you share a philosophy of trying something and just seeing what feels right. I have the same Feng Shui book which has survived many a decluttering. There are many great Feng Shui books on the market. I have owned four other books on this topic. My absolute favorite for its beautiful visuals (I like a lot of pictures), and easy to relate to explanations, is Jayme Barrett’s “Feng Shui Your Life- Second Edition”. I’ve owned the first edition since it was new, and took a free online course for using it with her at that time. I am about to replace it with a formerly owned copy of the second edition. These can be picked up in the US for very little money (plus a nominal shipping fee) through Amazon’s used book section (info on which is shown on the page with the new book listing).

I'm really unhappy with my working space (I've moved rooms in the house and my productivity has slowed ALOT. Basically, I moved my work from the dining area which is part of an open plan kitchen (my grown up boys disturbed me when they were cooking) so I moved my work to my sitting room. And that's too small, feels claustrophobic.
I tend to use my bedroom as my sanctuary (nope.....the boys disturb me there too! 🤦♀️😂)
Doesn't matter where I go lol.
So I've invested in some headphones, which cancel out their noise.
Anyway, I'm watching your video again. It's given me more to think about.

Oh my goodness! You all reminded me of MY foundations class cardboard chair project! My art school had two old red double-decker buses (from YOUR side of the pond) for shuttling us around Savannah, GA to our classes. Getting our chairs across town to final critique, via that bus, made most of those chairs not experience a round trip journey. ;-)

Love how the different areas are perfect for Your new space Wendy !!! I would stick the Mirror behind the Mannequin too actually against the wall next to shelf , just seems the perfect spot ...funny how when We work and listen to Our Inner-tuition it feels great , especially when it is reinforced with the Feng Shui like Children area ..Your Fairies and Paintings are like Your Children . I painted my noticeboard Inspiration board Gold (moved it to my tiny office instead of Playroom as I ended up using the whole wall in there) x...Well done ...Love this and You both xx

I think everybody should have 'a James!' I know there r always remedies you can do for things that are not ideal in feng shui. In our old house, we had an 'add on' porch and I felt it created a missing part on the other side of the house. When a feng shui expert came out to see it, she said because it was an 'add on' we didn't have a missing part. I'll be interested to see what you
