Love the haul north wind looks wonderful, test stitch on different fabric I was doing a pattern on the given fabric of 14 count but wanted to do it on 28 count but had to revert back to 14 as the 28 lost the lettering in it!!! Just the way the lettering was written...hope you find the one you like, Dexter's antics cracked me up ;0) happy stitching sweetie xxx
i used to have the same problem in the bedroom of my previous house: with the sun coming in really bright early in the morning. I bought a blackout roller blind (actually two because the window was quite big) for that window and that did the trick, no sunlight at all and in the daytime i just pulled up the blind. I don't particularly like the look of roller blinds so i also bought some nice (and cheap :P) regular curtains to make the window look pretty during the day :) I don't know if they have these types of blinds in Canada, but i just wanted to mention it :). Lovely video as always, hope you and your family are doing well
You could change the fabric count instead of 1 over 1 and that would make it smaller but not too small to read. Great haul, love the threads and the North Winds pattern. I couldn't see the other one with much detail but I do like most of their Deco and Arts and Crafts Movement designs that I've seen. Tree of Hope is making my fingers itch with wanting to start but I purposely haven't bought the fabric so I will have to wait till I finish something before starting another. I give the cats catnip and put them in another room if I want to do something they are toooo interested in. Happy stitching. p.s. you can buy blackout blinds and curtains , I think I got mine at Sears when I was still working night shifts at the hosp. They worked quite well, better than just normal ones anyway. I have wooden plantation blinds on my bedroom window and angle them up so the sun doesn't make the room too light in the morning.
I've decided that I love Threadworx, I got a bunch of them to use for my Chatelaine and have started swapping them into a couple Miras. I love the fabrics, I'm right there, cool toned neutrals, all the way; I can only branch out so much with the few hand dyeds I have. And I say do 1over1 on North Winds...maybe 25ct...or do 2over2 on 40ct if you want to really shake things up ;) Also, wish I could give cat handling tips but mine are usually shut out of the room I'm filming in. They are too curious and would likely steal something while I'm not looking, ugh, lousy criminals I tell ya
I don't think any of us would complain about the air conditioner noise, McKenzie. Especially Dexter, who is trying to tell you he's got on a fur coat and is too hot! About North Wind, I have a feeling the writing would be awfully small - your test stitching will tell you. But the real question is - Peacock Pinwheels is driving you crazy because it's over one and you don't feel like doing over one - so why are you thinking about doing another one over one?? I do love the pattern, and will love it either way I'm sure. When you get ready for Deco Spirits, I don't know if you saw it but there was a very interesting conversion where each block was shades of blue, shades of green, shades of red and shades of yellow. Maybe if you do an image search it's out there - but it was a really interesting take on how to do that one! At any rate - great video! Love your haul. How's your Dad doing? {{{HUGS}}}
Mackenzie you could never be boring ha I'm the same I start with blank canvase for hoose and fill with glorious colours - love seeing puss at end he's gorgeous xxx
I also agree with everyone... I would go 36 or 40 ct if your eyes can handle it. I know what you mean about the not being able to tell there is a space. I would do a test stitch and see for yourself how YOU like it as we are all different. But its you who has to love it and work on it.
I'm the same as you with the more "boring" fabric colors. I love color, but it sort of intimidates me a little. The flosses you got are gorgeous. Girl, put that AC on. It's hot and you should be comfortable. The noise is not an issue for us at all. It's barely noticeable so don't worry about that. And you know what? It's real life. Real life is noisy and that's that! 😀 I hope all is going well in your world. ~Amy~
Exactly, I like that "boring" is predictable - I don't have to worry about being unhappy halfway through because something isn't what I thought. Thank you!
Thanks for showing off your haul, I'll have to try the coffee fabric looks right up my alley. Got a question - did the Quaker Board giveaway get chosen?
What about 40 ct for "North Wind"? Or 36? It would be a bit smaller but still readable, I think. Good idea to sample a word over one to see, in any case.
I was laughing like crazy with your cat playing with the camera. My own cat wonders what was wrong with me. Thanks for not editing that out. I love it when the cats come to 'help'. ;) Test stitching your project would definitely not be a bad idea. At least then you'd have a clue what you're doing before you start. Congrats on the nice threads. I'm a bit jealous. :) Have yet to try 'specialty' threads myself. One of these days. . . I am curious. . .ordering from 123Stitch from Canada, do you get hit with any extra charges at the border (which I suddenly cannot remember the word for. :P), or just exchange?
Hi there lady....i was wondering if you can do a video with thread that change color? someone told me that you have to stitch one x by one x because they change color? does this make sense.... thank you as always!

Exactly, I really want to test stitch because I think the lettering is the most important part. Thank you!

That's a great idea! Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do.. you are so brave with 1 over 1. My eyes would never handle that. lol.
Haha thank you! My eyes aren't great to start with so I'd better do it now!
Love the idea of that piece as one over one!!!! I've been brooding over Perennial Border for months 🤔 love me some Dexter shenanigans!! 😹
Dex is definitely full of shenanigans! Perennial Border is calling to you .. stitchalong with me maybe? ;D
+thelovelyarray absolutely up for that! 🤗
Yay!!

That is a great idea, I'll have to see what I have on hand for fabric! thank you!
I love, love, love that wildflowers floss, going to buy it right now : )
It is so soft and pretty! Now to find something to use it on! It would be great for stitching actual wildflowers ...

Threadworx are SO nice. Lousy criminals is right. Why do we pamper them so?
Blackout curtains + blackout blinds =night time in the daytime 😆. I work nightshift and this works for me.
That sounds great! Thank you!
Tell Dexter I'm impressed with his videography (??) skills haha! Fun haul!
Haha thank you Melissa!
Loved that wildflower thread - beautiful!! Am going to 123 now to get it. And of course Dexter's antics, really adds humor and charm!
Thank you Erin!
great haul! Love North wind!!
Thank you!

I know, I'm such a one-over-one hypocrite! I just like how small it makes everything :D I will search out that conversion too!

Thank you Dee! I think I'm going to give that a try :D
lolol...your cat is so cute n funny!! Happy Stitching!!!
Thank you Cindy!
Great haul. Love that pattern.
Thank you! Me too :)

Omg the cat moving the camera is to funny....... Made me laugh.
What a jerk, right? Even when he wasn't trying to move it he still moved it with his butt.
Love your videos :-) Enjoy your haul!
Thank you Amanda!
Great haul. I use a tripod for my camera. Makes life very easy. xo
I bet! A big floor one, or one of those little tabletop ones?
I think there is a different thread type to use for 40ct and above so that it shows up. And I think it's explained by Melanie Watkins in her videos.
Awesome, thank you Brenda!
Fab haul love it all 😊
Thank you!
I love your North Wind chart, I think I have it in my stash somewhere lol. As others have said, how about 36 or 40ct, or maybe 25ct 1x1?
So many good ideas! :D :D
Thanks for showing off your haul, I'll have to try the coffee fabric looks right up my alley. Got a question - did the Quaker Board giveaway get chosen?
Thank you! It did yes, Quaker Game Board is in its new home now :D
What about 40 ct for "North Wind"? Or 36? It would be a bit smaller but still readable, I think. Good idea to sample a word over one to see, in any case.
Great idea!

Oh, my cat is certainly "helpful" - haha! Luckily, there are no border/customs charges with 123 Stitch. Just exchange rate and a higher shipping rate.
I'm doing a piece with a lot of lettering 1x1 on 25 count Lugana. Do a little test stitching?
I will indeed. Thank you!
great video sunshine
Thank you!
One over one should be fine and readable. Have you thought about stitching it on 36ct or 40ct?
Great idea! Thank you!
So funny 😹😻😸
Hi there lady....i was wondering if you can do a video with thread that change color? someone told me that you have to stitch one x by one x because they change color? does this make sense.... thank you as always!
Hi Brenda! I can definitely try, let me see what threads I have in my stash that I could stitch with and do a demonstration. Thanks for the idea!
😃
Get rid of the cat
How dare you
