Things gameloft needs to change this game
• Remove fuel system
• Don't put all cars blueprints
• Make the game more secure cuz hackers are in the server lol

Tbh i hate the key system in a9, you will need to star up your car to a very high star count just to get the key and unlock the car which is pretty annoying

Yeah they got rid of that and I sadly uninstalled it from my phone before I even played it

Marf you said exactly what I have been feeling this entire time.. I uninstalled the game actually, it has just been a waste of my time.
I agree with almost everything you said. If the fuel system was gone and the BP/cardpack progression system was gone, or done in a better way, such as a players skill improves chance of needed BPs being dropped - if those things were changed I’d Love the game a whole lot more. I disagree that A9 doesn’t feel different enough from A8. A9 physics feel diferent in a way that I like, still could be polished way more, but the changes feel significant enough for me. I enjoy grinding those races in Career to get flag wins. They do feel rewarding for me. The strategies around “double pulse” vs “perfect nito” and the 360, and finding the shortest path, and stringing together ramp combinations to improve your time. That was fun for me. Being entirely paywalled isn’t fun. Playing a game controlled by people who don’t love gaming isn’t fun. I agree GL is killing A9 before it’s even released yet, and I’m also pretty disappointed. Nice review. New sub.
I also agree that A9's physics are different from A8, but I don't think it has changed enough to justify us waiting a couple of years. Thanks for your thoughts! :)

Asphalt 9 has a fuel system. You get 6 races with each car. So far, B class cars have a refuel time of 1 hour and 15 minutes. That's the longest I have to wait so far. Other people have reported that S class cars only have 5 races and you have to wait 4 hours for them to refuel.
Speed is to Realistic and Slow Acceleration
This game has gotten more and more pay to win over the years apparently. I see what they mean, I just started playing it again a few weeks ago (I used to play years ago before giving up) and it's an absolute pain trying to increase ranks. Everyone else has pay to win cars. I know for a fact that it isn't my skill, because whenever I come across players with around the same rank as me I always end up around 3rd place or higher. When going up against players above me, I give it my all, but even if they knock me down just once, I can never catch back up again, no matter how perfect my runs are. Basically it feels like they're trying to get you to spend money on it by doing that. I thought games were about skill, not pouring your wallets into it as if you were gambling?
That's the reason I'm here to see if I was the only one who noticed. I didn't start making headway until I put in some cash. Been playing this since 2019 and only just now reached a level 10 garage. Not to mention the feature card packs rarely give you the car that ilthe pack features. Daily free packs give me cars I already have so 90% become trade tokens which you need thousands of them to actually purchase anything from the legend store. I just get tired of it.

Sounds a lot like extreme which I found fun for about a day then it became obvious how artificially limited progression was to push you towards paying. I still have fun with 8 which certainly has some massive flaws, but at least I can buy and upgrade (to a certain point) cars just by grinding races I find fun.

Completely agree with you. I went through the same B class slump. Super-frustrating and annoying. Finally broke though but it took a week of annoyance and perseverance . My take? Gameloft want you to watch loads of ads and, ideally start spending money ( $100 for a virtual car? Are you insane?! ) once they've got you hooked. Beyond the B-class slump, it doesn't get much more fun. Just turns into a drudge. These guys know how to make games. They just half-assed increasing their income!
Pre-register for worldwide release is coming, I'm get to test at soft-launch and I sincerely hope that the fuel system gets removed, they're considering if they should keep it or not since nothing else mechanically is really tied to it.

I just hope that they think things through but we all know GL they will most absolutely fuck it up without a doubt. Asphalt 8 used to be fun and the cars were sort of cheap but now they have made them expensive as fuck and the upgrades too, don't even get me started on the gas system lol. Do you remember how much the Citroen Survolt used to cost? 18,000 credits... How much does it cost now? 40,000 Credits smh why??? That car was the "grinding" car well for me anyways. Anyway it just pains me watching a potentially good game crash and burn all because GL only care about money, Blitz Brigade was my most favorite game until it went to shit, MC5 was a good game too until......(yep you guessed it) it went to shit. I don't really have any high expectations for this game tbh. Loved the video man, I just noticed I ramble a bit too much! XD

I'm sorry if it seemed as though that was the message I was trying to convey. If you like the game, then please enjoy it. I wanted everyone to feel/realize that Gameloft is not listening to us and they are hurting the customer and themselves by not innovating and putting energy systems/blueprint systems into their games. I am not trying to spread hate, I am trying to get people to think deeply about what they truly want and feel about Gameloft and Asphalt. :) Thank you for letting me know about what you thought I was saying in the video. Ever notice how AI catches up when your rank is below rank requirements but when your above it’s like they have the brakes on the whole race? Nice try GL. I was playning asphalt 8 and now 9. For me personally is the graphic difference between 8 and 9 huge.
What I don't like on 9 is:
- knockdowns in multiplayer, that's really annoying.
- very expensive packs in shop. It's like 50 or 100 Euro for one car? That's really crazy and sometimes it's just certain number of blueprints, so not even the whole car as such. So I am wondering who is buying that because it's more then a game for xbox or PS.
- at the beginning it was quite chaotic for me to find out how it all works, blueaprints system etc.
Asphalt 9 doesn't want you to play it. It wants you to pay it.

I'm the only one who liked this game from the start. Yet now I hate it (well... I still play it, cuz It's Asphalt) And now I'm seeing people in the comments calling it a disappointment. Man the community is weird. Bugatti Chiron was considered a bad event but now people want those kinds of events back. It reveals how much Gameloft took the chance of our vulnerability
same with me. I reached 31% in the career but then it just sucks big time. No upgrades available after that and when I want to pass someone in the race the car just stands behind it and refuses to get in front of the opponent on purpose.

Ima try and break your video down a bit to understand the criticism
1. Gameplay
Not sure what you are expecting to change here. It is still a racing game and racing games on all platforms that exist never change in their fundamental ways. Nitro, spinning and pysics are the only thing you can really change. What are you expecting from gameloft? driving also did not change in 5 years
2. Career
I dont agree at all, sorry. I think the career mode is WAY better than in A8 right now. It is way more rewarding with the blueprints and there are whole chapters based on one or two single cars. Not like in asphalt 8, where you would buy one car for one race only. It was so unrewarding. Also everyone got stuck at 30% just like in asphalt 8, where I also got stuck a lot of times. But once you break that, you have a great progression until 60/70% where iam right now (77%). They need to introduce these breaks to get the players to cash in, what is not necessary btw. Iam free to play, at 77%, garage 8 and constantly top 50 in multiplayer EVERY season. Now the event tab is full of events (~10 events) and I need to set a timer for 100min on my phone, otherwise I wont be able to complete everything in 24 hours. So there is a lot to do right now.
And I genuinly hope that people cash in, cause otherwise games simply die. It needs to be hard, it needs to be a casual game. Not something you finish in a month. Mobile games live of people cashing, they live of kepping the game casual. That is something you will never be able to change
3. blueprints
the game changed a lot since then and it is easier to get them nowadays, also Iam free to play and have 5,600 tokens saved up and spent 2.500 tokens on the lamborghini coupe sv event to get the car. I also here and there buy 10 packs cause I got so many tokens saved up. So it is quite easy to get tokens and packs. Especially with the daily car loot and legend shop. I might have had more luck but i dont see a problem there. I like the system, it is way more balanced than I thought
I like the system tbh not sure why it gets so much hate, it is obviously freaking p2w. But give me a mobile game thats not lol seriously
4. kinda agreed on the fuel system, but also that fades away with more cars. right now I kinda like the fuel system and also hate it. I feel like they should remove it from Events and career and keep it for multiplayer. The fuel system prevnts people to play their best 3.500 crazy S class rank car non stop and force them t play a lower tier class car sometimes. Just like me. But iam at a point where I have 5 viable cars for the legend rank that beat almost everything. So it does get better and the fuel system just gives the game a rather casual vibe to stop people going crazy with one car and wrecking everything
in conclusion I get your points, I get why people might not be having as much fun as I do. Thats probably because I startd 2 months earlier, cause there was a softlaunch in australia. Iam enjoying the game right now tbh :/ So yeah we might just have different opinions on that i guess

Now, I might not be higher in career or on the game - only about 17 cars and almost 18-20 percent completed but I have to say, you are completely right. I do despise the fuel system but it doesn't really affects my opinion on the game considering it forces me to play other types of car and approach diff playstyles. As far as cars go, they are way more easily upgradeable than 8 counterpart and I do like the blueprint system. Also, they are also more easily obtained as long as you know what to do. There are specific car hunts and seasonal events to help you get specific car. And I do think grind is worth it + career is WAY more rewarding than in 8. I really like this game, and I dont really think it is pay to win but pay to progress really fast for the cars which are really good can be obtained in the game by playing actively but it is not easy to get them. You must grind for them. As I said, grind is worth it

I deleted the game after playing once. All the goofy and unnecessary 360 spins on the ground and lasers and lightning bolts killed the game for me.

I have lost my 100/400 hours of playtime data on asphalt 8 twice and their customer care does nothing, There's no live chat to their customer service, Just old school email id's to which they never respond appropriately.
All of the games that i have played from "Gameloft", The starting is smooth, But soon enough you hit a massive pay-wall, Its not even like you can grind it out, The grinding is always highly unrewarding like you've mentioned.
Its one heck of a greedy-ass company, but aint it the story of most of the mobile gaming..

Real racing is one of the only great mobile racing games out there. ALSO real racing 4 is coming out in 2022!!!!!!!
What's wrong here: reward system? Trash. Offline play? Gone. Fair arcade online play? Difficult to find-yes, worse than 8. Customization? Worse than asphalt 8.
What I want for 9 to improve or asphalt 10, first I'd change rewards back to early asphalt 8: use cash for everything except for good visual options (wheels, paint customization, perhaps any and all paint customization would be required to pay real world money for, and then the fuel system can make them money off adds too, I'm okay with that. But cut the stupid tokens. Worthless pointless trash made for money, ditto blueprints.)
Second I'd like to see no blueprints, that's wierd.
And third, I'd really like to see more cars. Buy the licenses, get more gamers to do the game.
Also to get money: charge 2 dollars to buy the game, then, charge for all paint options and wheel options/maybe even introduce drivers, characters that look a curtain way, or do their own dance that you have to pay for. Like fortnite for cars. Maybe a victory dance at the end. And earn money through the fuel system, accept allow a car to fill quicker, like a 1 minute wait if you watch adds for 30 minutes of the current refill time.
What I like: slightly more realistic turning speeds that slow down more while drifting. Somewhat better rolling mechanics. Somewhat reduced complexity in microtransactions and special upgrades for cars
When I first played Asphalt 9 in 2018 after playing Asphalt 8 in 2017 because that’s when I first played those games and I was disappointed with the blueprints and the fuel system until I got used to it when I played it for a while

I love A9 more than A8. But one concern i have with A9 is the Blueprints system. You will not believe i still completed 8% because i want to star up my dodge challenger C class but dont have enough blueprints.

I really liked both Asphalt 8 and 9, but I feel like I like Asphalt 9 more. Honestly, it's easier for me to get cars, upgrade my cars, and just have more fun all together. I know that Asphalt 8 was great when it started, but I joined kind of late, and I couldn't really get anywhere. The game will die because of this, because once old players leave, new players come, but they will only have fun once they spend their money. The same exact thing might happen to Asphalt 9, but I hope it doesn't. I like it because there is just chaos all around, and to me, it's really easy to understand what's going on. Not only that, but the tracks aren't that bad since there are multiple ways of getting through a track. I do agree with you on one thing, though, and that's the fact that at times, you will stay at a certain percentage of the game (20%-30%), which I kinda hate. I like your argument, it's really good!

Let me give a review score. Asphalt 8 had a lower score, so Gameloft tries to make this game score higher. Starting with 5/10, go. Pros: Awesome graphics +1. More exciting maps +1. More exciting events +1. Removed invisible walls or so, +1. Exciting career and exciting competitions, +1. Cons: Unfair AI (or CPU) for e.g. gold competing between silver, -1. Fuel tank systems, I know this is real, but they supposed to remove it, -1. Both pros and cons: Blueprint systems. 8/10. The previous had a 7/10. They are both good scores, stop fighting about it in the replies. Apart from knockouts.
The races in this game are 1-lap sprint races
maybe I just suck, but my car is sometimes 100 above recommended, but I somehow have to redo it a couple times to win. a mile ahead of the pack turns to a mile behind all of the sudden bc of one nitro boost. Idk. but when touch drive gets turn on then, it gets hella boring, but it wins by a considerable margin. Does anyone else see the same thing? Maybe I'm just a casual noob that sucks, but idk.
Especially the mile in front and then suddenly a mile behind thing especially AT THE END OF RACES is SO ANNOYING! I've had this SO MANY TIMES.

It's so robotically driven to get you into paying which I will not and getting fed up with it at 40% now..
this game is horrible.....the worst enemy in the game is the level design and the physics.. Hunted missions are the worst because of the blatant slingshoting from the cops. I takes forever to progress in this game as well. The worst part about all this bullshit is that they majorly scaled down asphalt 8 to only one lap races and you now are not able to upgrade cars with card packs.
I got 86% of the cars in the game in just less than 2 months.. it is really worth the time

Totally agree with you: it`s a trash game basically because of f*&^ing "blueprints system", especially blueprints to fully upgrade 1(!) car you need around 70(!) cards to just "allow" you to upgrade your car. Import parts is useless and they are just removing good rewards by themselves.
Fuel system (for me) is fine, though - it`s free to play, so i can wait to it for refill - as long as there is no F*&^ING BLUEPRINT!!! "They" driving me crazy, THEY stealing lots of fun.
Overall I feel like i`m not playing game, but rather playing some casino`s "spinwheels" with blueprints - lucky to get your "suitable" or "prefferable" blueprint - get fun; if no - f*&^ everything off.

I been quit Asphalt 9 since June, Payloft has ban my account 3 time innocently without any hack, and more hacker are still in top leaderboard 1-2 month, and gayloft are not care about it. Soon Gameloft will get bankruptcy, they deserve it

Game engine and physics are shit. Toddler community. No anti hacking measures taken whatsoever... Ever. Requires too much, offers nothing in return. Game was so incomplete at launch. And yes it can get worse, and it did. They keep screwing around with shit. And they are not fixing and not adressing any issues.

I'm 10,000,000,000,000,000,000% disappointed in this game because I cant get it on my phone becuase of the type of phone I have. 2nd reason I hate this game is because I got it on my pc but the graphics were complete trash and when I put the graphic settings on its MAX settings it just lagged like crazy! If it was available on my phone it would be on high graphics and it would be super smooth and not laggy.
I find 9 WAY more fun than 8. Asphalt 8 was boring and easy, I just drifted the entire race and that was good enough to get 1st place. In asphalt 9, I felt I had to start using more strategy and improve my play style multiple times to get better which is really rewarding. Asphalt 9 feels like it takes actual skill to be good.
OmegaFalcon you obviously didn't played Asphalt 8, see if you can get 1st while drifting the entire race in multiplayer there....😒

I’m going to go ahead and say that doesn’t make any sense.
1. There’s no reason for a video game to force players into refueling a virtual car. This is a racing game, not a real-life simulator.
2. Companies should not control when we can play. We should be able to play whenever we want to play, not when a game decides when.
Its all style and no substance. I serously want a good arcade racer to play on my phone. I mean how hard can it be. Just give us money for winning races and let us choose our car and customize it. Also give us atleast varied game modes other than the same old stuff

Great video and thanks for your thoughts. Now that I know the game has an energy bar, I know that I will have to start a riot or something at the facelift HQ because this energy bar thing has gone on WAY TOO LONG. I personally would rather pay for the game and not have an energy system than to play a free-to-play PIECE OF SHIT WITH AN ENERGY BAR SYSTEM. I understand they need to make money so they put a gigantic paywall up for better cars tracks and upgrades but THE ENERGY BAR SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN INVENTED, BECUASE THAT IS THE REASON THAT I WANT TO KILL MYSELF AND THE REASON I WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM MOBILE GAMES AND IN PARTICULAR GAMELOFT GAMES, which is a SHAME CONSIDERING HOW MANY GOOD GAMES THEY HAVE DEVELOPED LIKE 8 YEARS AGO.

Liked the graphics and handling of the cars,the action is good too,,,,but-- Playing totally free only into C class cars and got stuck with very slow progression and can't bring myself to grind quite THAT much. i agree with you men the progress is stuck n u really cant do anything cause there nothing else to do in the game absolute trash i wasn’t expecting this from gameloft even though they made the game really cool with cool graphics still it sucks from the soft launch to the actual release nothing has changed n furthur as you move in too higher level cars this fucking fuel system drops like hell you can only use the cars for just 3 times and takes forever to fill fuck that shit
