- This intimate performance by the Chinese Classic Music Trio seems to have taken place during their first tour of the United States during the final months of 1978 and the beginning of 1979. The trio is led by Wong Ching-Ping, later to become conductor of the Taipei Municipal (Chinese music) Orchestra, on the pipa with Chen Sou-Feng on the hu chin and Hu Sie-Cheng on bamboo flute.
The trio performed five selections from their broader program for more formal events, including "Early Spring in Mount Young-Min" by Tung Yung-Sun, "Eventide in a Village" rearranged by Chan Tien-An, "Ode to the Princess Caho-Chun" by Liu Chien-Min, "The Great Ambush," and "To the Market Place" by Cha Yien. The event concludes with a brief Q&A in which Wong Ching-Ping answers student questions about the instruments being used in the performance.
