- This video features excerpts from The Prince of Princeton, a musical comedy review written and produced by Katherine Bagaley and performed throughout 1930-1931 by the children of the Bagaley Dramatic Class.
The video opens with an introduction by host Robert Simpson, followed by a rendition of Singing in the Rain by "Movie Stars" Marilyn Miller, Phillips, Bessie Love, Clara Bow, Nancy Carroll, and Billy Dove. Next comes a song called "Along Came Ruth," followed by a comedy sketch starring Clyde and Robert Simpson.
Betty Dowling and Bobby Lee then perform "Wedding of the Painted Doll," followed by "The Yama Yama Girl" led by Joyce Collins. Frankie Calhoun and Earl Evans then appear as "The Musical Bell-hops," followed by "Mother Goose Party," sung by Clyde Simpson. The video closes with "The College Boys."
This video appeared on the same recording with another piece produced by long-time Florida Theatre projectionist Bender Cawthon, and so is tentatively attributed to him. The recordings was discovered in FSCJ's files during a mass digitization project and are provided here for historical value; the College makes no claim to copyright on this item.
