Man, I dug so much to find this song. Searching for the lyrics on Google kept sending me to Scorpions' "Still loving you", Restless Heart's "I'll still be loving you", Dixieland Delight's "Alabama" or Minnie Riperton's "Lovin' you".
Seth Macfarlane sure loves these old movies/ The Turner Classic Movies channel, kudos to him! Brian and Alana did good doing this! Same with Seth and Elizabeth Gillies!
Family guy brought me here after searching it from all music streaming platforms and I got nothing from them🤣 honestly, family guy made me enrich my knowledge about musics, films, etc in an odds way. They gave me 'no doubt' good references sometimes😅 good for Seth & the crews
couldn’t agree more ! gene nelson is one of my all time favourites. none of these new “musicians” will ever come close to the good old days. still remember when i was just a small lad listening to these greats for the first time !
I just stumbled across this movie on Turner Classic Movies. Gene Nelson was seen climbing a rope in the gym using his arms only - while singing a song. Then he went into a long arduous gymnastic routine in which he did all the stunts. Quite amazing as a piece of dancing and/or athletics. Someone should post that scene.
@@meenyminymoe The weird thing is that Gene did his own singing in this film, except for one number, "That's The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of", in which he was dubbed by Hal Derwin. I've always wondered why. Did they think nobody would notice the difference in the two voices? The difference is quite apparent. Bonnie Lou Williams dubbed Virginia Mayo's voice in this film and in others.
Gene was an incredibly fluid and athletic dancer. It's too bad he didn't get more starring roles and wasn't ranked right up there along with Kelly and Astaire. Gene worked a lot with Gordon MacRae, so I think Gene's dancing was overshadowed by Gordon's singing in those pictures. Gene Nelson also had a tremendous career as a TV director when his acting and dancing days were behind him.

This was Virginia Mayo's favorite of her films bc it let her hoof. She had danced as a teen with the opera company in her home town, St Louis. She was 33 here. The Sultan of Morocco said her looks proved the existence of God.
'Over the top' fantastic. WOW!, the music and dance of Hollywood's 'golden age' was superb. Although it's another day and time, Hollywood of the present, with all the technology available, does not have that kind of 'class'.
Lol it's so weird seeing Ronald Reagan in a move it just doesn't seem real. Also it's kinda sad that this kind of song and dance performances went out of style there was something so fascinating about them
¿Quién habría podido imaginar que ese regular actor, Ronald Reagan, llegaría a ser un tan magnífico Presidente de los Estados Unidos?: uno de los artífices de la caída de la Unión Soviética.
I got a big laugh out of the “hotter than a baker’s oven” clip in “Spies Like Us” but in truth, Chevy Chase couldn’t have been watching it on his computer in 1985 because: 1) there was no internet yet, and 2) there was also no RUclips yet.
Some monitors used BNC, some used RGB, for some, you could use an adapter to run the output from the computer straight into the antenna input on the TV. You could use multiple inputs with a mechanical switcher. My Atari 520ST could output color via an antenna adapter. Looked like crap, but it worked. I had a medium resolution monitor that would accept RCA for input with a switch at the back to change which connector it was using.
@@geece1This is a comment from someone who think they know how computers used to work, and really didn't have any idea. The comment from @gefiltepaprika below shows why - but my high-quality Amiga monitor from that year also served as an excellent TV (just lacked a tuner.)
Yes this too is another great number by those ace dancers Gene Nelson and Virginia Mayo. Ms. Mayo has such a fantastic figure that no other Hollywood star from the late 40's/early 50's could fit a swimsuit the way Virginia did. She had fantastic height. Most Hollywood starlets were compelled to wear swimsuits for publicity purposes. One looked at them, but never looked back. Girls with hour-glass figures like Virginia, Debra Paget and her younger sister, Lisa Gaye commanded your attention in the body sweepstakes with their eye-popping extras. These stars were the quintessential voluptuous dolls, who could also act up a storm.
Good day to all! Good day Darrin! Thanks for sharing! beautiful! President Ronald Reagan was the greatest U.S.President in U.S.History!Ronald Reagan was a wonderful actor and We Love President Ronald Reagan from all of our hearts! Very sincerlly! With Respect TG.
I see a touch of 'Moses Supposes' about the number: mocking the teacher and dancing side by side on the desks. 'Singin' in the Rain' had come out the year before. Virginia Mayo got along well with Ronald Reagan, whom she described as always pleasant and professional. He was still a Democrat; she was a fervent Republican and anti-communist who would stump for Barry Goldwater in '64. Did she help convert the Gipper?
She was beautiful, talented and politically astute. We would have been better as a nation if Goldwater had won. LBJ may not have started the road to socialism but he really got us in deep.
This is a great routine. I doubt they did it in one take, but they sure made it seem like they did. Guaranteed that MacFarlane found this from Spies Like Us, which we already know he is a fan of.
Aren't you taking this test tomorrow? What, the foreign service board? Yeah Sure. Well don't you have to study? No, are you kidding? I know the FSB exam glass backwards. I've taken it three times already. Well, yeah but its supposed to be all different this year. Five hundred questions in 2 hours. Let me see the booklet. :)
I'm sorry I'm late I had to stay for the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end when I found out that I received nothing......broke my arm.
- Austin Millbarge: The Chinese were only using a simple polyphonetically grouped 20-square-digit key transposed in boustrophedonic form with multiple nulls. I broke it with this... I'm just curious if anyone came here because of the movie "Spies like us?" 🤣 I swear I just got this in my head because of seeing that movie multiple times in my childhood. Great song either way!
The first time I ever heard the name Virginia Mayo was in a Mad Magazine spoof. She was easy to lampoon but she was a hell of a talent - the pound for pound Hollywood blond champeen. Looks, acting, singing and dancing. Take that Meryl Streep! She was also in a Jim Bowie oater with Alan Ladd as the vilianess. Terriffic. She embodied evil. This was a woman with range.

just a future president just chilling like a boss
This is the scene Chevy Chase was watching in "Spies Like Us" (1985) on his TV at the State Department
Yep, that's how I saw it. I looked at the screen right when it showed Reagan singing.
Crazy how Eddie Murphy did a cameo in that one scene

so much potential in this clip for more movies with him and virginia as well what a shame
Thank you family guy :)

I just watched this movie today and you're right, I'm looking for that scene and can't find it anywhere.
What ashame these two had great chemistry and really only did one film together in which they were the leads, missed opportunity
'I'll still be loving.. turtle doving.. still be loving you...' ❤️
I'm disappointed those isn't on spotify😭
Didn't remember how fine a dancer Ms. Mayor was. Great sequence and Ronald Reagan backed them beautifully.

Virginia oh baby you can dance... very dangerous dancing on desks and tables jumping from one to another.. great job..

Sustos que dan gusto.
Unfortunately, lots of Democrats know Spanish.

Things like this never happened at my high achool !

There was internet in '85 I was online then, you may be thinking there was no World Wide Web, also there was video sharing before RUclips lol.
He could've been running a TV antenna or cable TV cable through the computer or just the monitor. Not impossible in 1985.
