I think it's cool that they got Trixie Mattel in Monster High, but I understand why she didn't promote it on social media, with all the drag fear mongering, I totally get not wanting to get unnecessary hate.
I am just a little disappointed that Trixie isn’t wearing her role in the show loud and proud but given the circumstances drag queens are under right now I won’t judge her for it or hold it against her. It’s actually completely understandable as it could put her in danger or worsen the situation for her. I just wish we lived in a different timeline where she could share this win with us and not have to feel that fear 😢

People, in my opinion, must realize that WE are the majority. WE meaning non judgmental of lbgdq or race or hobbies, etc. WE are just… quieter, living our own lives and letting others live theirs. Those OTHERS are noisy bullies. They know they’re the minority and try to bully everyone to do what THEY want. THEY’RE hungry for power. WE have got to be aware of this, and stand up for ourselves and for everyone that just can’t.

As a long time Nick wather, this show is currently carrying the entire network on it's back. Nick has been doing queer rep for a while and been knocking it out the park ever since. This show is trendsetter and I hope it gets more seasons🫶
Trixie was considered in like late 2019/2020 for the role. When it was starting to be workshopped, before sooooo many things shifted around. I am sure they were under contract too not mention it for a good while until it came out. But by the time it came out all this other mess spilled out over anti LGBT+ laws and being attacked. I think on a safety thing. It is for the best, at least for the momment. Because how currently backwards people are currently and laws that does leave Trixie in a vonurable spot.
Even before you showed the clip I knew exactly why they didn’t want to talk about it. Trixie has been very vocal about trans bans, the labeling of being a pedo, and how ridiculous they are! Edit: also I think Trixie might have felt they were going back on their word. She used to say, “I want nothing to do with your kids! My drag is adults only.” But I don’t think them playing a voice on a show is a big deal. Their actual drag is still R rated.

I'm not a fan of Trixie, but I certainly don't hate her & I totally get why she didn't promote the episode. In fact, I feel like Trixie's reasoning is kinda why mattel isn't really promoting g3. G3 monster high has so much more representation, but there's always going to be people who don't like that representation. Like when people were screaming crying throwing up about Frankie being non binary. I don't think mattel just doesn't care about g3, it's just that with this new representation, they don't want to do anything to in danger the communities that the new g3 characters are representing.
I love the new Monster High! And I love the representation! My kids are both LGBT so representation is important to me. My kid and I were so disappointed when the big D cancelled Owl House. It was such an awesome show and had, what I and my kid felt was such authentic representation with Luz and Amity's relationship. We both got teary when it became apparent that Frankie and Cleo were going to be a thing on MH. I hope franchises continue to represent the LGBT community. Love you sweetie!

I like that they didn't say anything. The reason why is that the crazies couldn't get the show banned. By keeping quiet until the show airs allows the show to get out there. Now that the show has been seen and people know it is out there it can't disappear completely.
I think having Trixie in the show was huge and its so sad that she had to basically keep it in the dark because people cant handle the fact other people exist outside the bubble of "normal"

I liked trixie Mattel as skelly vonderbone and hope there will be more episodes with her in the future. I’m sad to hear that she didn’t share about her part because she was afraid to with those drag bans going on. I hope that a skelly vonderbone episode in the future can have a much better experience before airing. Frankly a drag ban seems stupid to me and just let people be who they want to be and makes them happy it’s not hurting anyone.

I loved watching Trixie on the show. I knew her from drag race anyhow and thought it was uber cool that she got to actually work w Mattel. I know some people think its forced but I feel like it isnt? Ive been watching the show on cable since it started and I think the issues at hand are being handled respectfully and thoughtfully. Watching Cleo and Frankie build up a romance was actually very sweet. My mom and I watch it whenever its on. She doesnt really get it, but it makes me happy so we watch together. idk these are things I always wanted to see in shows when I was growing up queer. I dont really like the concept of "rainbow capitalism" but when we were kids it was seriously difficult to even shoehorn in a gay comment into a kids show. Now idk its really nice to see characters like myself.
I respect and fully understand why Trixie didnt want to promote the episode. Unfortunately there is a LOT of political tension and unrest in the nation between anti lgbtq laws to the overturning of Roe vs Wade. She doesnt deserve political hatred for such a silly reason. I am a 55 y.o. mom who has adult children in their mid - late 20s. MH was around when they were young but wasn't in their radar. I always thought it was adorable and then I think that it disappeared. Anyway I stumbled on a clip of your mom n found you and I wanted to take a moment to let you know that this DEFINITELY EDUCATED ME from your perspective as a child and not being acknowledged as a boy who liked the dolls.. So monster high recently came to Spain and with all this, we are getting the new series and , the topic i wanna talk about, the doll's songs, so, in Frankie's song, they DO NOT use they them pronouns and refer to Frankie as a she/her, and personally i am scared that they are getting rainbow washed, because we are not getting any homophobic laws here in Spain, so this was kinda scary and interesting

I wish Nickelodeon, Mattel and Trixie had all worked together to promote the character and episode :( I understand why Trixie was scared and uncertain what to do when she wasn’t given advice by the show she worked with. It makes me think of how Disney left Halle out to defend herself on her own and didn’t stand by her against the prejudice.
Monster High is about acceptance and being able to show your flaws, at the start it was aimed towards a female demographic I think mainly because a lot of female people tended to in the past be told to be the same in the early 2010s which made monster high different and it's style compared to other dolls was unique and the stories compelling. Generation 2 was to make it more kid friendly and childish because parents complained and were probably a little jealous of the messages the show taught about things like a Vegan Vampire and a Meat Eating Werewolf could be in a decently healthy relationship or even just be themselves which caused that whole generation to flop. Gen 3 is a generation built on the backbone of Gen 1 but seeing fan reception from many different areas of the LGBTQ+ community I feel they have made this generation to be completely about accepting others and their flaws. Skelly Vonderbone is not just a character voiced by a Drag Queen but someone who faces anxiety and helps another through it to showcase her own talent and that is the most important part, Skelly is not flawless but even with those flaws she is able to stand tall and inspire others. I do hope they continue to further the characters and also showcase them more than one note and allow them to be flawed characters who were can all enjoy and see bits of ourselves in.
i definitely understand where she's coming from unfortunately. like, being a trans person i've found stuff like trans day of visibility have been really challenging especially this year considering the harm so many of us face due to this ridiculous anti-trans anti-drag panic going on rn. like, i was scared to speak at a local event in front of not even a hundred people because of that. like, i did end up speaking but like, point is there's a certain fear that comes with having literally any sort of platform where you know you're going to reach a lot of people and it's scary to think of a situation in which someone might take something you said and meant well about and run with it to further harm your community, but unfortunately we're in a place where that's just a realistic thing we have to kind of anticipate.
I appreciate Trixies respect for not pushing the issue. Right now it’s extremely Sensitive topic, both sides of the agenda which can be sad. I really wish some wouldn’t think dark thought’s because as a doll collector herself, she should be proud on supporting the show and help people know that drag is an art, nothing more, but I can see why. At least some of us collectors can understand and embrace drag as we do, even that little bit speaks mounds regardless.
I agree with you 100% that the representation is important & awesome. I think there's real danger out there for you kids & the drag community. I don't even want to imagine anything like the Pulse nightclub massacre happening at a drag queen story hour at a library or a family friendly pride event but I believe that is something that is a real possibility with the anti-drag anti-trans anti-lgbtqia+ evil going on out there & I absolutely do not blame Trixie for being afraid to say anything right now. I totally get why she was apprehensive about promoting it, she's conscious the backlash while impact trans women the most so I can understand why she'd be scared :( meanwhile all we can do is celebrate it and support it.

It makes sense that Nickelodeon would have a queen on their show, they are both Paramount properties and it is a great opportunity to cross promote their properties.
I like that they didn't say anything. The reason why is that the crazies couldn't get the show banned. By keeping quiet until the show airs allows the show to get out there. Now that the show has been seen and people know it is out there it can't disappear completely.
I think having Trixie in the show was huge and its so sad that she had to basically keep it in the dark because people cant handle the fact other people exist outside the bubble of "normal"

I liked trixie Mattel as skelly vonderbone and hope there will be more episodes with her in the future. I’m sad to hear that she didn’t share about her part because she was afraid to with those drag bans going on. I hope that a skelly vonderbone episode in the future can have a much better experience before airing. Frankly a drag ban seems stupid to me and just let people be who they want to be and makes them happy it’s not hurting anyone.

I loved watching Trixie on the show. I knew her from drag race anyhow and thought it was uber cool that she got to actually work w Mattel. I know some people think its forced but I feel like it isnt? Ive been watching the show on cable since it started and I think the issues at hand are being handled respectfully and thoughtfully. Watching Cleo and Frankie build up a romance was actually very sweet. My mom and I watch it whenever its on. She doesnt really get it, but it makes me happy so we watch together. idk these are things I always wanted to see in shows when I was growing up queer. I dont really like the concept of "rainbow capitalism" but when we were kids it was seriously difficult to even shoehorn in a gay comment into a kids show. Now idk its really nice to see characters like myself.

I respect and fully understand why Trixie didnt want to promote the episode. Unfortunately there is a LOT of political tension and unrest in the nation between anti lgbtq laws to the overturning of Roe vs Wade. She doesnt deserve political hatred for such a silly reason.

I am a 55 y.o. mom who has adult children in their mid - late 20s. MH was around when they were young but wasn't in their radar. I always thought it was adorable and then I think that it disappeared. Anyway I stumbled on a clip of your mom n found you and I wanted to take a moment to let you know that this DEFINITELY EDUCATED ME from your perspective as a child and not being acknowledged as a boy who liked the dolls.. I never put much thought into your situation since I had no experience with anyone in your reality. BRAVO!!!!! AND YOU GOT ME HOOKED ON STARTING A COLLECTION OF MH DOLLS. So monster high recently came to Spain and with all this, we are getting the new series and , the topic i wanna talk about, the doll's songs, so, in Frankie's song, they DO NOT use they them pronouns and refer to Frankie as a she/her, and personally i am scared that they are getting rainbow washed, because we are not getting any homophobic laws here in Spain, so this was kinda scary and interesting

Monster High is about acceptance and being able to show your flaws, at the start it was aimed towards a female demographic I think mainly because a lot of female people tended to in the past be told to be the same in the early 2010s which made monster high different and it's style compared to other dolls was unique and the stories compelling. Generation 2 was to make it more kid friendly and childish because parents complained and were probably a little jealous of the messages the show taught about things like a Vegan Vampire and a Meat Eating Werewolf could be in a decently healthy relationship or even just be themselves which caused that whole generation to flop.
Gen 3 is a generation built on the backbone of Gen 1 but seeing fan reception from many different areas of the LGBTQ+ community I feel they have made this generation to be completely about accepting others and their flaws. Skelly Vonderbone is not just a character voiced by a Drag Queen but someone who faces anxiety and helps another through it to showcase her own talent and that is the most important part, Skelly is not flawless but even with those flaws she is able to stand tall and inspire others. I do hope they continue to further the characters and also showcase them more than one note and allow them to be flawed characters who were can all enjoy and see bits of ourselves in.

i definitely understand where she's coming from unfortunately. like, being a trans person i've found stuff like trans day of visibility have been really challenging especially this year considering the harm so many of us face due to this ridiculous anti-trans anti-drag panic going on rn. like, i was scared to speak at a local event in front of not even a hundred people because of that. like, i did end up speaking but like, point is there's a certain fear that comes with having literally any sort of platform where you know you're going to reach a lot of people and it's scary to think of a situation in which someone might take something you said and meant well about and run with it to further harm your community, but unfortunately we're in a place where that's just a realistic thing we have to kind of anticipate.

I appreciate Trixies respect for not pushing the issue. Right now it’s extremely Sensitive topic, both sides of the agenda which can be sad. I really wish some wouldn’t think dark thought’s because as a doll collector herself, she should be proud on supporting the show and help people know that drag is an art, nothing more, but I can see why. At least some of us collectors can understand and embrace drag as we do, even that little bit speaks mounds regardless.

I think there's real danger out there for you kids & the drag community.
I don't even want to imagine anything like the Pulse nightclub massacre happening at a drag queen story hour at a library or a family friendly pride event but I believe that is something that is a real possibility with the anti-drag anti-trans anti-lgbtqia+ evil going on out there & I absolutely do not blame Trixie for being afraid to say anything right now.
It's not like her to keep quiet about her projects & I feel like this one would have been something shed have been so excited to talk about if things weren't so dangerous right now.
I don't think hiding is the answer but I do think Trixie used discretion in not making a big deal out of her participation but it's also very sad that she felt like she had to. 💔
