    Hi ! The GM328 can test capacitors ESR in circuit and the T4 meter not.... this is a high difference ! Good video !

    I have a few similar items and they are very, very useful for testing components. Not as good as a decent LCR meter for absolute testing, but good enough to be a great addition to any testing equipment requirements. They are great to stick in the mobile testing bag! They are cheap, but they do an excellent job - saved me many an hour fixing things, including my HP LCR tester! :)

      indeed, i used the prebuild one to build the DIY one... if i cant read the resistor code 😁 and i like it identifies and the type of transistor or fet...

    Such a component tester also only has a housing. it is a very useful device. The component tester does not recognize IGBTs.

    Ever wondered why there are 2 harness one for the m328 controller and the components socket..? 🤔😳😁

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  Год назад +1

      No idea what is behind that. maybe they already had something with one of the parts and later decided to also combine it later with something else

    Is it ok to run GM328 on 3 of 18650 Lithium ION battery that convert to 9v through 7809 IC?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes that should work, maybe it will even run on just 2x 18650 without anything extra.

    Is it possible to measure the ESR of capacitors in circuit?

    • @TonyAlbus
      @TonyAlbus  2 года назад +1

      Many ask this question, it depends on the circuit...i think myself you never get good values in circuit... what if you meseure one cap in a DC powerline of a PCB, how many caps do you think you have in parallel then? and what you meseure makes sense

    • @peddersoldchap
      @peddersoldchap 2 года назад

      @@TonyAlbus My question was relative to this component tester.
      So, ESR is not totally reliable, but it may be indicative?
      What I really want to know is if this tester can be used to measure capacitor ESR in circuit.
