I look forward to every show you lot do. Im always listening on my commutes to and from work and during. Thanks for the content. The time flies by listening to you guys piss about!
im Christian (please don't start an argument, im not starting an argument) but i believe in free speech. say whatever you want. talk bad about God, I don't like it, but free speech. That's my 2 cents. Love your videos Richard!
It feels weird knowing when Richard recorded his videos because you live in the next state over and the weather is basically the same. Also, Bulleit>WIld Turkey
When you google your own name you need to use incognito/private/whatever your browser calls it since google tailors results. You're about 50/50 on page 1 and about 50/50 on page 2 (competing with multiple other Richard Lewis..es including apparently two different guys with PhDs).
History is an optional class in Australia only able to be chosen in years 11 and 12 (the last 2 years of school) I think thats what he meant it isn't taught in schools
After this video I feel like using a proxy and not linking any online profiles with eachother is worth the hassle. Even if you don't do anyhting shady. Just googling a name is enough for your privacy to be invaded.
Richard, a while back you had said on Unfiltered episode 67 "Why should people be held responsible in real life for saying mean things on the internet." I wanted to know if you have any thoughts on Playtonic removing JonTron from the upcoming Yooka Laylee game for his personal views. I can PM you the link statement from Playtonic if you want.
i have never once in my life seen a funnier stream than sam and your h1hz-adventures, hilarious shit - dr. disrespect isn't half as funny as you guys but i guess taste in humor differs aswell so keep up the good work! cheers
Everyone, everything in the bombs blast radius had died. Jaina shook her head to clear the awful memory of precisely how some of them, people she loved, had been killed. Jaina Proudmoore would never again be the lady of Theramore.
"I bench 200 lbs before breakfast." He'd better bench AT LEAST 300 after breakfast or he'd better stop talking shit to anyone who isn't over 60, a woman or under 16.
Can confirm "bikie" is common Australian terminology as opposed to "biker", although I've never heard someone claim to be one without being full of shit.
Okay, so I've watched all of your content for a while now, I've gone back and watched a lot of things that you made before I found you, and I have a lot of respect for you as a journalist and e-sports figure. (Yes, I know you know what's going to come next.) But, regarding the Netflix rating system, I can't help but feel like you're being unnecessarily contrarian. Netflix's rating system has never been universal. The star rating you see on your Netflix account is a way for Netflix to tell you whether or not they think you'll like the show based off of your previous ratings. If you've never rated a show on Netflix, then it's possible that you'd be able to see the average ratings for all users, but when you create a new account(or user profile, even), you're asked to rate several shows as the registration process. I'm not fussed enough to go make a new profile and see if I can skip this process, so I'm not going to say whether or not this is even a reality. Anyway, my point is that the Netflix rating change isn't even systematic. They're still using the same recommendation algorithm(presumably), it's just that they're moving away from the stars to the thumbs as a way to change the perception of the system itself. The Amy Schumer special is a great example. People see a 1-star rating on their Netflix app and assume that this is a comprehensive rating system like you'd see on IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, etc. Now yeah, there's empirical data showing that people have indeed been actually giving it a 1-star rating, and those ratings do have an effect on the ratings you and I see, assuming that we're lumped into the same demographic from their algorithm. Even then, though, I'm sure there's a level of individualism in their rating system(1-star rating for Amy Schumer special means you won't see another even if you give 5-star ratings for other comedy specials, etc.). The percentage match we will see now on Netflix is unchanged from the star rating we saw previously. It's just that now instead of trying to decide if the show was worth a 1 or 2-star rating, you just give it a thumbs down. I agree that giving us a binary system seems more limiting, and I have no idea if their algorithm can accurately tell us what we'll like based off of a simple "yes" or "no", but it isn't even tested. We have no idea if this will be better or worse, and this all assumes that you actually give ratings when you watch something on Netflix. I've watched countless movies and series on Netflix, and I can't remember the last time I rated a show, even if I thought it was awful. Actually, no, that's not true. I went onto the website just a minute ago to see if I could find posted reviews(couldn't), searched up Amy Schumer's special to see if it showed ratings or a percentage match, and saw that Netflix gave me a fucking 89% match, so I gave it a thumbs down and closed the tab. What reasons do you have for being upset about this change? Instead of seeing a 1-star rating on something that you probably won't like, even if it's got an 8.9 on IMDb, you'll now just see nothing. Instead of seeing a 3-star rating on some "lesbian cinema" film, you'll just see *54% match*. For the people who looked at the star ratings and didn't realize that they were recommendation ratings curated specifically for your account, it's now clear that when you rate something, you aren't giving it an official review to add to the average score. And for the people who actually wrote reviews on Netflix's website and regularly went through all of the pages on the website to *find* user reviews(it was literally impossible on the gaming console and mobile apps), what the fuck are you doing looking at movie reviews on Netflix? There are so many better websites for movie reviews than Netflix.com(again, you couldn't even view them if you were using an app, meaning to even see these reviews, you have to be at a computer or using an internet browser). tl;dr: Read the fucking comment, mate. PS Don't hate me; I'm not hating you. I'm not calling you out or trying to insult your intelligence or anything like that. I'm curious about why you're trying to take a stance on something that's effectively no different than rebranding a logo. I'll go back to watching the video now. EDIT to fix parenthesis: How the fuck did I mess up a parenthesis? Now it's going to look like I edited in the tl;dr or PS. This is bullshit. Fuck RUclips. Fuck my fingers. Fuck it all.
Oh, at 1:49:00, in the article, she's effectively saying that everyone's grandpa is a rapist. The other names she mentioned were people who raped black women, the implication being that they found "black bodies attractive" but didn't feel like they needed respect or protection.
The gif case is really stupid. If you are an epileptic it is up to you to brace yourself from any possible attacks that can be induced while using a computer. His intent was clear, but with features in place that would help you avoid epileptic attacks it really comes down to negligence on part of the user. Ugh, this will set a dangerous precedent because you a labeling gifs as possible "deadly" weapons and lawyers can refer to this case over intent expressed over the internet. Lord help us
There seems to be quite a lot of misconceptions about the gender wage gap on both sides of the argument. Measured by absolute earnings there definitely is a gender wage gap, saying there isn't is just ignoring empirical observations. Now, some argue that this gap can be (almost) fully explained by controlling for other factors such as education, hours worked etc. It's true that the observed gap diminishes when controlling for these factors but they then go on to draw conclusions that these findings do not support. They claim that the gap can be fully explained by the choices women make due to their gender (nature) and thus is a non issue and that there isn't any discrimination going on. The problem with this claim is that it completely ignores how culture can affect the choices women make when it comes to their education and choice of employment. It's possible that there exists discrimination at the employer level, discrimination at the societal level and cultural factors (nurture) that influence how much women work and in what fields. You can't just assume causality works in the way you wish to interpret it. It's fully possible that the differences in hours worked, education and field are due to factors other than nature. It's in general very hard to separate the effects of nature and nurture from each other in cross sectional studies like that.
ffs intro still not loud enough this production quality and lack of viewer ass kissing makes me sick. get your shit together and make the show exactly based around my opinions and world views. love the show btw.
Plot twist: Alien Industries and Ryan Zinna are actually just Richard getting black out drunk and arguing with himself on random videos.
That RUclips comment fight has to be one of the funniest things ever in this show

Harmful Opinions when?
Love the show Richard but you made a goof at 1:05:00, Joe Rogan has commented about Amy Schumer's joke-stealing multiple times on his podcast
I said he never condemned her. He definitely hasn't gone after her with the same vitriol he has other plagiarists.
Richard Lewis Oh, I gotcha. Definitely understand and agree. Thanks for the reply man, big ups
He has said in another podcast he regrets going after joke plagiarists in the way he used to.
you used to look up when the intro faded to cam and it reminded me of the broadcasters in Anchorman. Let's bring that back you scabby fokin dog

Remember when youtube had 5-star rating system? And also you were able to downvote comments..
Got a Counter-Terrorism advert from the UK government before this show, Richard. Are you and Sam up to something eh?
Everyone, everything in the bombs blast radius had died. Jaina shook her head to clear the awful memory of precisely how some of them, people she loved, had been killed. Jaina Proudmoore would never again be the lady of Theramore.

sam, you cant just tease us on a website for artistic scissoring but then not telling about it
Why do people use the word fascist incorrectly?
It's incorrectly used as a synonym for anything perceived to be authoritarian. Thank western education for only teaching people about the Nazis.
It's so trendy right now. Goes great with my latte
why do you use it correctly? 0_o
That guy is demented, Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
2 hours.. was about to sleep. Sleep is over rated anyway!
Bikie is the term we use www.imdb.com/title/tt2303123
"Swan neck" LMFAO
I feel bad for the country of Wales, they keep being compared to Amy Schumer.
Can confirm "bikie" is common Australian terminology as opposed to "biker", although I've never heard someone claim to be one without being full of shit.
