    They did the same to me. I had to lease 11 more panels. The yearly charge goes up. 2.99%. When they showd me the numbers for the lease for 25 years it seemed reasonable. What they don't tell you is that 2.99 is calculated on the new price every year. This will cost me about $90,000 . If I had bought it it would have been 25,000. Local electric company buy the stored electricity for almost nothing. Saved all year so I would have for winter and the just bought the extra for $10.00then charged me $37 extra for not having enough power. I would not do it again as I am 76 years old and on SS.

      We just had our Sunrun panels installed in Oct. or Nov. 2023. Was delayed so many times, and then failed inspection. It wasn't turned on until Feb 2024. It generated power for two or three days. It's now April 12 2024 and the techs just left the house. It is generating at the moment, but the last time they were out it generated for the remainder of the day and in the morning was no longer generating. We had a tech out last month sometime for this and stated all RSD modules needed to be replaced. So he placed the order which is supposedly why it took this long for them to return. When the techs arrived today, they stated they were only here to inspect/troubleshoot the system. I was furious when they stated this. Then relaying to them what the previous tech said, these guys gave attitude and said they were fine, but if I want them replaced they will just do that and leave. I have everything the previous tech stated on camera, because we were in front of our doorbell camera and it recorded it all. We are almost ready to tell them to remove the panels and cancel the contract. We will see if this time it works for more than a day or not.

In my case at one point I saved $30 from my usual NV bill but I paid $89 to Sunrun to save $30 because it turned out I wasn't being covered the 95% per contract and they want me to pay extra to fix it. Sunrun installed a defective roof on my house and said they couldn't send anyone over to repair it. Under duress of heavy driving rains, They told me I needed to hire my own contractor to be reimbursed. But when the defective roof revealed further hidden damage and leaks at a later date, they said they wouldn't pay for it in a very unfriendly and accusing email. The disrespect and insulting correspondence and remarks were like something I never encountered anywhere in my life. I'm an elderly person, 65 years old and they think they can fool me with excuses. They know most people can't afford a lawyer or don't know how to pursue a small claims court action. Here's what Sunrun DIDN'T DO: upon reporting of the leak, they never made any attempt to simply come fix their roof they installed. I had to make all the effort, numerous phone calls, numerous emails. Now I'm left with $7000=+ damage to this roof which they won't repair or pay for.

    • @seanm729
      @seanm729 2 месяца назад

      I wouldn't trust Sunrun, based on my experience. They installed a defective roof on my house. I spent two years trying to get them to repair it. They forced me under duress of an open water leak during heavy rains to find my own contractor, because Sunrun claimed they couldn't locate their original contractor who did the work. They also claimed they couldn't find anybody to repair my roof. Can you believe it? So I was forced to use my own contractor and forced to sign a document that Sunrun isn't responsible. Of course the damage to my roof when Sunrun installed it was so extensive that new leaks kept appearing and much of the damage was hard to figure out since the repair people weren't who installed it. So when further repairs were needed Sunrun claimed they weren't responsible and refused to repair the roof any further. Furthermore their last email was unfriendly and seemed hostile, and they made false claims regarding the matter, I believe so they could save the email later as false evidence if they got sued. One false claim they made was that there were no active leaks in the roof, so "therefore they aren't responsible". There are at least two active leaks I'm aware of. The workers who installed the roof didn't speak any English. I couldn't talk to them. I feel pretty sure they were undocumented workers. Are there any Americans who don't speak English? I think that answers the question. One thing to be aware of. Everybody at Sunrun was nice and polite and tried to sound accommodating. But when it came down to responsibility for paying for the roof repair, I felt that they had ulterior motives and their conversations were ultimately strange and not quite right. I felt any friendliness in the end was pretending. Here's what should have happened: I report to Sunrun that their roof is leaking and they simply take care of the entire matter without bothering me and simply arrange a schedule when I can be home to allow the workers in. Instead I have a roof that had been damaged for two years that now needs over $7000 in repairs. No matter how you slice it, Sunrun bent over backwards to not help me, and then they treated me as if I was some rogue criminal off the streets. The last correspondence they sent to me was condescending and accusing. But the reality is they installed a damaged roof and it’s still damaged and they won’t fix it. As if I’m a bad person. That’s how they treated me when it came down to the responsibility of paying. I was completely shocked and horrified. I truly thought they were a legitimate company in the beginning, but now I feel
      They are extremely risky and can’t be trusted if anything goes wrong. I’m certain they will offer a lot of heartfelt platitudes for a while until the money part enters the picture, and then you’ll know who your friends aren’t!

    This is an issue with the sales person. There is nothing wrong here with Sunrun. Pinning this issue on Sunrun when everything is in clear written detail about the offset and production is misrepresenting the situation. I can see in the short amount of video that the customer is getting what they are promised and the sales rep either was not trained or was not forthcoming about the production. This is not a Sunrun issue, this is a communication issue. The homeowner is also guarantee-ably saving compared to not doing solar at all and should have gone over a welcome call verifying all of these details and expectations before ever being installed.

      I've read pages and pages of reviews about issues with SunRun - their solar panels, their sales people, etc. When 90% of their sales people miscommunicate and mislead, it is no longer just an issue with the sales person but the company itself.

      Sunrun has multiple levels of checks to make sure the customer is well informed about the deal they are entering. I have numerous happy customers because their expectations are set appropriately. In comparison to how many homes happily have Sunrun, a small number of homes have complained online. I’m sure if you checked out any large company’s reviews you will find a “ton” of complaints. Online is where everyone goes to complain, not praise.

I have sunrun installed and the new solar meter was installed two days ago, and everything is ready to start producing power to the new meter and NOTHING IS WORKING. I have been calling Sunrun and Freedom Forever the installation company and NO ONE IS GIVING ME ANY ANSWERS OTHER THEN IT WILL TAKE THREE DAYS TO CONNECT. Connect to What? Why is it going to take three days? I GIVE sunrun ZERO STARS, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND sunrun TO ANYONE DUE TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IS NONE EXUISTANT.

    11000 out of 14000 is not 95% but it is a fair amount of energy... I'm surprised Sunrun installed on clay terracotta shingles, I'm pretty sure they don't, maybe the agent was a Sunrun dealer and he made a mistake? The part they conspicuously leave out is how much he is actually saving. My guess is if you're producing 11k kW you're likely saving at least $70 a month, probably more. In my opinion this is low budget reporting probably from a biased agent of another company.

    Because the penal was going to generate enough to pay the loan and extra money for me, full of shit, never cover what I use, and I am paying a double bill. The only solution they could do was sell me more panels.
    Good business isn't it?,
    They grab you by the b.. So you still buy more from them?f..u,

  • @davidpeterson5859

    The Sunrun system installed does not cover my usage. This resulted in an end of year "upcharge" from Southern California Edison. To add more panels will cost more money to Sunrun. So there is no savings. Your just paying somebody else your electric bill (actually TWO people...Edison and Sunrun). To save money a battery is needed, (resulting in more money to Sunrun) however, batteries cannot be installed in my area. If your going to install a system take a serious look and getting your own private system rather than leasing. Add to this Sunrun monthly fees go up every year. This is not a "no cost" program.

    Got what he paid for. If he wants more generation he should buy it. Why would he think they should give it to him for free. If they oversized the system and he was getting money back from the power company would he volunteer to pay them more for the system? Nope
