I bought my F12 after falling in love with the FF. I loved the practicality of the FF with my family but once my kids got older and I stopped using the back seats I moved to the F12 and all I can say is WOW. I have never been scared/humbled by a car before. This one put me in check. Truly an amazing vehicle that I will keep forever unless I have the opportunity to own a TDF.
@@amospizzey1 completely different beast IMO. Absolutely loved the FF but it was much more compliant and drivable in all conditions. The F12 is a bit scary with all the HP to the rear wheels only. If you have kids or want to take friends around you can’t go wrong with the FF but if you want something to raise your blood pressure every now and then go with the F12.
2nd best F12 video to Clarkson’s epic intro in 2013. As an owner of one, you were exactly right on all aspects. Certainly more beautiful than an 812 and don’t most enthusiasts long for the “analog” experience of older cars these days? Rear wheel steering makes it boring compared to a drivers car that constantly threatens to bite if you don’t pay attention. Never selling mine.
Another owner here. Great video, but I give Chris Harris F12 video tops. "Killing Tires with a Ferrari F12." ..."There's nothing the world needs less, and there's nothing I want more." Agree, have some other vehicles, but keeping this one.
As a former F12 owner,I felt the same. That was of course until I drove and than bought a new 812. A significantly better car in all ways, even looks imo as long as you keep away from Rosso Corsa (just doesn’t suit it!). However, the F12TDF is to me the most stunning looking V12 Ferrari ever.
Okay, More thoughts. Yes, 812 has several advantages on paper and looks are always in the eye of the beholder. And of course a TDF is the ultimate - but I could add a great used McLaren to the garage or save almost $1mm instead of buying either of those. And once turned to “CT Off” I can’t believe a TDF is significantly better. Unless your Chris Harris, try giving an F12 the “beans” without traction and see how long you last. I’ve had a lot of track time and mentally wears you out. Undoubtedly one of the best Ferraris ever.
I'd have the F12 over the 812 any day. Apart from bragging rights, to me there's no real-world use of that extra power the 812 offers. I also prefer the glorious sounds the F12 makes, especially when straight piped. The 812 when straight piped is just daftly loud. IMO, it doesn't sing the same way the F12 does. I'd have an F12, get some good ol' Novitec treatment n enjoy the hell outta it.
As an owner of an F12, great review of the car. ¨Floatiness¨of the chassis, hard to describe in words but true. Once you get used to it and the quickness of the steering, it is hoot.
The F12 Berlinetta's design is more elegant and refined and the 812 Superfast is more aggressive and angry looking. Both are beautiful cars. But the F12 definitely has one of the most distinctive exhaust notes. I could recognize it from thousands of different cars in my sleep. That classic Ferrari V12 roar is just absolutely fantastic! Utterly brilliant car no doubt.
Each successive V12 Ferrari is a better vehicle, but not necessarily a better Ferrari. For me the smooth lines of the 599 and the Enzo engine are the high point. You do make a strong argument for the potent F12. Excellent presentation as per usual.
Damian, it’s only the post July 2019 build 812’s that came with the GPF muzzle. Try one of the earlier cars and you’ll find a car that is the pinnacle of Ferrari V12 in its operatic performance. I’m more than happy for you to try mine anytime you like!
@@TriniZx3 Don't generalize like that just because you don't agree with him. There are millions of people in the world who think the 812 SF is more beautiful than the F12 and vice versa. People have different tastes and opinions.
Fantastic video and series Damian. Thank you for all the hard work. If only I had an Enzo, the subliminal advertising would have worked for sure. Good luck finding the cars to complete the series.
Looking forward to you driving an FF. As much as I'd like an F12, the FF is just more practical and as such would get far more use for me. I get the feeling it's 80% of an F12 with two more seats and a genuinely useable boot.
The FF is an amazing car. I owned mine for 2yrs and loved every minute of it. I was the coolest dad in town pulling up to school and having the kids jump into it lol. I will say that the FF and F12 are shockingly different. You get the sound and amazing driving experience with the FF but it is way more compliant than the F12. I didn’t realize how much of a difference there really was until I bought my F12. It can be down right scary at times which is one thing I love about it that I never got in the FF. If you want the practicality definitely go with the FF but if you want a toy to raise your blood pressure go F12… it’s worth the premium 👍
One of the last good looking Ferraris, almost perfect minus that weird brake light. There's a red one by me and I have never stopped loving it. Now the TDF, well that's damn near the perfect Ferrari, especially in yellow.
I agree, it is a link to F1 it does not need. I am not keen on the "thong" design on the back. There are somethings they look good on, but not cars. Having said that the rest looks great inside and out and drives well.
@@zakelwe Thank you, for appropriately describing the rear of the F12. 😂 I never have liked the rear of that car, give me the F12 front with the rear of the 812, and I'm a happy gal! Honestly an average driver can't possibly use all those horses properly, unless you have access to a track. For now my lowly 599 satisfies me.🏁
I did enjoy the word "intergalactic" to describe the acceleration. Damien has a very nice presentation style, interesting and funny but not over the top. Very informative with good editing as well.
I liked this presentation piece you did - very well made vid indeed. Lancaster Colchester gave me one for a week at launch and I don't know if car was broken... but not only was it 'floaty' as you say, the really unpredictable weight shift across the rear axle was truly terrifying on fast sweeping S roads (bit like a 2003 TVR Tuscan or 2011 AMG SLS Roadster - both also awful) so I couldn't wait to give it back. Great steering and engine albeit mostly induction roar under 3000rpm. Keep 'em coming sir ☺️
You are right. 812SF is a better car, but the F12 is just a more pleasing shape. Only time will tell which gets more admiration in the next 10 years. I suspect with new EVs coming. Any ICE car will be treasured.
Had mine for 2 years, it spent 4 months in the dealer being fixed. Sensors failing, seals going. Was fun when it was working, but the bills out of warranty added up to thousands.
When it comes to beautiful Ferrari, I think that Ferrari 812 Superfast is more beautiful with the smaller and nicer rear lights than the two big ones that F12 has.
Love that! And that spec. Think that suits me well. Great to have a hatchback. Just too blinking expensive and don’t see them coming down in price. Maybe I’ll still aim for a Roma.
