You made a great decision to incorporate the unique brand into the bag. That added a lot of character to the finished bag, making it a unique piece the owner can be proud of.

This is a video that we can look back over what we don’t understand. So you don’t need to repeat explanations.
The wheel knife is so quick and cuts the depth of a full leather bag without becoming dull. Excellent job.

How quickly the gussets measurements went from 42” to 52”:
    48:05 - started at 42”
    48:27 - cut it in half to 2x24” (?)
    48:37 - realizes it’s too much
    48:39 - uh oh 42” became 44” (!)
    48:45 - add .5” to 44 -> 44.5”
    48:50 - rounded up to 45”
    48:58 - now became 46”
    49:02 - 2x23”
    49:20 - 2x26”
Having too much material is a better problem to have than having too little, but you recovered with the sage advice to measure twice:
    2:54:13 - recovered w/ a double-measure(!)
Be well and thank you for sharing!

    Mr. Porter,
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with everyone that wants to learn! God bless you, and your family! Sharing is a very rare thing in our days..
I want to ask you about this kind of leather that you're using. Is it cow? I bought different kinds of leather, and two of the hides are stiff (not very thick, about 1,6 mm, i think, if i remember corectly, but after a week of testing the bag i made from one of these stiff hides, the bottom just scratched and at the corners looks very bad. Like i was using the bag for very long time! This was very dissapointing).
Please, tell me what should i buy next time, so my bag will have some body and age well. ....alltough, the seller assured me that the leather is for bags, also.
Thank you so much for everything you do for us!

Hi, Arthur! Are you using the actual flame to singe the thread ends, or just the heat after the flame goes out?
