    thanks for the video and the insights into how to create patterns. On a different note, I remember in one of your videos you said that you were going to be answering one of the "burning questions" that a lot of people ask. that is "what is the white goop you are using when burnishing the flesh side of your leather?" . I have not seen a follow up after that. is that still in the plans to answer that or have you already done that, and I just missed it? thanks either way. appreciate all the videos you share with us!

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  2 года назад +1

      Yes! That’s coming up.
      The ironic part about doing designated videos from 1,000s of “burning questions” is - when I do them, they don’t do well. Low views.
      Example- I’ve been asked 10,000+ times for a shop tour video. I finally did it, and it was barely watched (relatively speaking). So it’s a bit discouraging, from a creator’s perspective.

    • @orion7741
      @orion7741 2 года назад +1

      @@MasconLeather As one of the ones that actually watched your shop tour video, I thought it was very thorough and well done. It was cool to see your set up for filming and lighting. It was appreciated, and you might be discouraged by limited views, but you willingness to show a bit of your world with others can really be benificial and encouraging to other people out there that are just looking for some inspiration and different ideas. with that being said, thank you. thank you for spending the time to make all the different types of videos that you do. they are all appreciated!

      I couldn’t agree more myself. Those that understand the workmanship of being a leather craftsmanship will and do truly appreciate the effort you put into making a video like the “shop tour”. As Bob Park signs his books “From my bench to yours” this video is in the same realm, from your bench to ours. I enjoy seeing your set up and seeing how you lay your shop out. Unless i am not accurate there aren’t many videos like that. So thank you for the video and opening up your shop to show everyone else. I am excited and eager to learn what the “white mud” is. I have many bottles of different products that I have bought and I feel like I still don’t have the right stuff lol.

      Dye - feibings.
      V- gouge not in this video. They’re Barry king edge bevelers. See my leather tools video. I explain them all.

    Your videos are always great! I do have a question, though. Is that Horween leather chrome tanned leather, and you're burnishing it with Tokinole? One day, I will invest in Horween, when I have more experience, but I saw that and wondered why you burnished the leather.

    • @dancox82

      Horween Dublin. It’s not chrome. But more subtle than straight veg tan. I burnish chrome tan Horween too. Chromexcel, etc. it’s possible if you’re patient enough. See my last 32 questions video for more. 🤘
