Day time footage of snakes, pretty rare. Great work.

For sure, though the Mock and Common Rat are good daytime candidates in HK, but as you say def easier at night.

Thank you for taking us on another walk. As always it was fun. Seeing your Chinese Water-side Skink, I thought about it and realized there aren't a lot of lizards, certainly ones that are small, that are truly aquatic. The aquatic lizards that come to mind are Monitors, Marine Iguanas, and Basilisks. Basically either very large lizards that don't have to fear mostly fish predators or like the Basilisks that get across the water very rapidly. Your aquatic skink seems to be a bit of an exception. So I was wondering, these streams that you encounter, are they generally free of larger fish?

Yes, most of these streams are shallow fast flowing streams so not much in the way of big fish.

very cool! I can't believe how many snakes there are in HK. I'm always out in the trails running and never see them. Must have gone right past some.

For sure we all walk past many when we are in the trails, just goes to show how unlikely they are to hang around when people are nearby!
