  • The winter is cold and dry making conditions difficult for finding animals but we manage some special ones in this episode!
This week we find a nice mixed bag of snakes including Cobras and rare Slug Snakes.

Amazing finds despite the cold weather conditions! That mountain pit viper had some great colours on it!

That viper is gorgeous. Always a good day when I catch one of your hikes.

I never even knew these soft shelled turtles existed in our streams, lovely. I've only seen the big headed turtles near the streams around us, sometimes on the roads after heavy rains.

Amazing find. Love this species and keep some myself (from SaPa and Tamdao). I read that they still feed at very low temperatures. I tried with mine and at 10C the TamDao had no problems grabbing a prey.

Yes, ours here in HK are very active during colder months. Have you ever observed yours constricting rodents during feeding?

@@SnakeIDTV Such great info to have. Yes all mine do so, (orientalis, tonkinensis, okinavensis and monticola). But only when I have not fed in a while and in general while feeding a bit bigger item.
