I was sold when I saw Alex from super beard bros does voice work. There are a ton of talented voice actors on this one!
To be fair a lot of people that actually hate and avoid roguelikes do so because thanks to them a lot less carefully crafted metroidvania games are made. In their place is an overflow of roguelikes in the market. At least that's what I've noticed when talking to people online.
Appreciate you sharing these thoughts!
I don't mind playing 'some' roguelikes, but I do think the 2D indie market is flooded both with roguelikes and metroidvanias. Also with trial & error precision platformers.
Wouldn't mind seeing some more actual traditional platformers that have actual levels like classic Mario and Sonic, but there's almost none of that. And heck the few games there are like that for most part don't even stand out in terms of level design or just don't play half as well. The only type of classic action platformer games that pop up every now and then are modeled after Contra or Metal Slug. Very few are a bit Shinobi 3 or Ninja Gaiden-esque, though... not as good really.

There are like a million Metroidvanias. When someone says "indie game" that's the first genre I think of.
@@TheMisterGuy I did neglect to say 3D metroidvania games instead of 2D ones if that makes any difference to you.
I dont care for roguelikes or metroidvanias i see both as ways of padding what should be tightly designed games that end in 2 hours
Sounds like I'm better off playing Little Noah, Spiritfall and Hades 2. It is a shame that this one isn't really up to standard. I liked the look of the visuals and I enjoy a good platform fighting roguelite. Maybe the dev team will be able to improve with their next project. Thanks for the review.
Thank you!
Who knows, maybe they ill patch it up to a better state eventually.
Thanks for the review. Keep up the great work! 👍👍
Thanks, will do!
Roguelike, to me, sounds like there's a game designer who doesn't want to bother designing levels.
So instead they decide multiple levels for one area...
That's completely wrong, could not be more wrong lol, you have no idea what you're talking about 😭
@@natalimoina Then pray tell how EACH room has multiple available options that get chosen from. Did those designs for them just poof out of thin air? Nah, they were ALL designed. So instead of one potential layout for each room in a level there are multiple...cool...guess they really did design multiple layouts for each level, heck each room in a level
I was probably already going to skip this since it looks like just another average to mediocre roguelike but the fact that you lost all that progress is a complete deal-breaker to me. Thanks for the review 👍
You are very welcome!
Thank you for the review
No problem 👍
I was hoping this was a metroidvania
I love roguelikes, just not platforming roguelikes. If I play another it has to at least be better than Deadcells and Rogue Legacy and that's a tall order.
I like roguelites because they are usually pretty casual (not easy) and you can just pick up and play , put it down and come back later
Totally cool!
Love the look of the game and I'm both a fan of roguelikes and Mega Man games, so this is definitely something I'm interested in! That said, and I know this is a minor detail to most, but _man_ do I hate that font they're using, especially on the damage numbers. Makes the game look like an XBLA game or something.
Thanks, money saved.
Wow......I can't believe other reviewers hyped this up so much. So looks pretty......but repetitive and quite boring and bland at times.
Not sure if some reviewers know what "fun" means with a game or if they are just being swayed by sponsor money too much. The transparency and effort put into this review makes others look bad.
Almost bought this based off Megaman hype comparisons and greatly exaggerated gameplay. It is maybe a wait and deep sale game now. Think I will subscribe to this channel based on the work and honesty of the review that others are lacking or avoiding too much.
Im done with roguelikes. I tend to roll my eyes now whenever i hear a game that i liked the look of turn out to be one
Im sick of the mass influx of indie roguelikes theres like a few good ones but most are just ways of padding out games that should end in 2 hours people say they want shorter games with worst graphics but most of the bigger indies are the long ones with pretty artstyles and im tired of it
Proceeded generated? and roguelike? I'm out
Fair enough thank you for watching!
Aw this is a bit of a disappointment for me as the "elevator pitch" for this game had me interested.
Only have enough to buy one game this week so hoping "Wild Bastards" is going to live up to it's potential.... If not then I am getting Perennial Order that I know BarelyMagicMike was gushing over in his review and is on my wishlist.
Perennial Order does look so good! 👍
I hope none of the sales go to Jirard and the completionist brand. This game looks amazing but I don't support Jirard or his shady charity behavior
I was so gung-ho to get this game... until I saw your review. To me, there's no sense buying a game that's worse than 30XX. Looking at your footage, I'd just be better off playing another run on that game. Or maybe going back to 20XX for some nostalgia. It doesn't even look as good as Star of Providence (Monolith) or Neon Abyss, which isn't even that great.
I tried the demo and it seemed pretty mediocre and I took it off my wishlist. I was expected a higher score actually.
Well if it seemed mediocre I would say it got exactly the score you would have expected!
That's dissapoining, I love the art style and was wondering how it would turn out. Guess I wait for a saie on this one!
Hmm i though it would be great, maybe they will fix stuff or make it interesting by a update or a dlc. I think they will just throw it in the bin how unfortunate.
Hopefully it continues to get updated!
