Forager is one of my favourite and least favourite games ever as while ive spent literally hundreds of hours messing around in the game the dev tragically dropped it after promising a long list of updates and never posted anything clearly to prevent people from buying a game that they expect to get updates but isnt anymore.
I got Forager from an Humble Bundle (I think?) and got _really_ into it. So into it that after 40 hours in... I realized it was a bad game. The "buy-land" aspect is fairly unique for a crafting game (esp one that can become quasi-idle-clicker) plus it has a lot of charm and promise, but it stumbles so hard over the basics (which I was able to overlook early on) and has a dull end-game. It's too bad the dev dropped it, with a few rounds of polish (particularly UI polish) it might have been able to taste the popularity of Binding of Isaac or Stardew Valley.
The PS4 trophies are also bugged since the Nuclear update, so platinum is only achieveable if you own a physical copy and stop the automatic version update, or go through the trouble if downgrading the digital copy to an earlier version before the Nuclear update.
The one that took me the longest was the bank achievement, though the level 30 void one gave me trouble when the lag caused me to crash multiple times lmao What surprised me is that he didn't seem to use the strat that helped me the most when I played the game: converting hearts into levels with the demon chest and maxing all levels that way. I guess it's not that important.
@@Loren_Arg_6816oh yeah also thought of him but didn't understood the connection to the vid. I just noticed the minor/miner reference after watching the part again.
Boring, no lore, no real objective other than expanding and getting rich, no multiplayer, little to no space for creativity, stamina bar which constantly limits what you can do if you don't want to die and so on

the top places in every speedrun on forager are done using a dupe glitch, which involves only a furnace, so its done from the very very start of the game, that speedrun only needs one of each material to get infinite of them in a few seconds. the problem is that the dev abandoned the game a while ago, so it will never get fixed
Watching this speedrun made me realise how little machinery I had on my 100% save. Only 8 factories, 4 of those crafting electronics and the rest inactive. 12 furnaces too (lots of nuclear ones obv but all inactive). I had more power plants than both combined lol
I didn't speedrun it, but I went for all achievements, and I waited WAAAY too long to use lighthouses and power stations. It ended with me having to stand around for about 8 hours to finish off the Banks achievement
