The way they can become enemies or pals sounds a lot like what Darkest Dungeon 2 did. Very cool, definitely picking this up after my obsession with Deadlock fades a little.
I budgeted one $30 switch game this week. the whole time it was gonna be Yars Rising. I even had it in the shopping cart. a very last second change and I chose this instead. I'm glad I did. Yars will remain on the wish list, but I think I'm enjoying the action of this over the cutesy metroidvanianess of Yars Rising, but I'm still looking forward to playing it. my way of buying and playing games is a mess. I bought Void Bastards two months ago and have yet to even start it. yeah I'm playing this game first? anyways, great video and much appreciated.
Glad I could help! I think you’ll get a lot of mileage out of this one. I’ve gone back a few times since wrapping up the review. Yars Rising looks great as well. Definitely one of those games I’m keeping an eye on to pick up much later.
Hopalong is incredible he can get increased map movement, is very quick in combat his special stuns everyone on the map and while his weapon is basically short range 1v1 rope it will kill anything.
Thank you for the review! It’s shocking how few reviews there are for this game. I appreciate you getting this out quickly. Is there meta-progression, anything in-game that carries over from run to run? It sounds like characters might? If this is a straight roguelike like Binding of Isaac, unfortunately it’s probably not for me. Edit: Also, can you save mid-run?
Hey thanks for watching! Progression carries over from star system-to-system with each full run lasting like 10 hours (about 16 star systems with 5 - 6 planets you'll visit each?), so you could think of a single run like several mini-runs with skills that carry over between them but items that do not. It does autosave constantly so you can quit anytime. Once you finish the run however, it's all gone and back to square one when you play again, though you can bump up the difficulty and turn on Iron Man mode etc. No progression carries over other than enemy data.
There are definitely a good amount of fps roguelites, off the top of my head there’s Gunfire reborn Robo quest Deadlink Golden light Nightmare reaper Otherwise good review.
Cant get over how trash the animation style looks. I know what they were going for but wow does it look janky and bad. Too lazy to animate actual stop motion, just make everything look likr a bad 80s game

Yeah that was one of my favourite mechanics. Makes the tougher bouts much more manageable
Love the reviews, keep em’ coming!!!
You're fucking fast

You’re not wrong! I found his stun great with The Judge. However I personally didn’t really enjoy playing as him, as the rope was kinda boring
That was a very good review. Thanks man

@@lowellbell I really appreciate your in-depth breakdown here. Thanks again!
Nice review, and you have a good talking speed 👍 keep it up
Hey thanks Lisamtylor! Will do my best.
Spider Rosa MI Amor❤❤❤
I just realized she didn’t make it into this video! She was the last Outlaw rescued in that run.

Fair point! I haven't played/seen much of those myself. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting!

Really? I found it charming. Really grew on me quickly, but to each their own. Thanks for the comment either way!
@lowellbell good review BTW. Reviews should also help us know what's not for us so we don't have to deal with customer support and refund requests
