It's not always possible though. I have had great teachers in my life who caught the attention of almost all students but there are always those that doesn't even try to listen and act rowdy because they thinks it's "cool" to harrass your teacher . They do deserve a punishment in certain circumstances but this is not it.

You try to understand what’s the problem with them, speak with them in person and see what you can do about them. Every student are not the same. Some are naturally interested in academics and some might have the passion to do something else but would have been forced by their parents into academics. So I myself being a teacher, I have to understand the root cause of the problem, get to know what the child is going through and help them out.
