At 4:29 "This is the former president of Ukraine. (...) I wouldn't be surprised". At 13:37: "This is someone you would see near a children's playground (...) What? That guy!".
I reeeeally wish this could be subtitled but I only speak English and French... Also, can someone explain the technicalities of this? I be really interested to hear how the voting circuit works from a tech perspective
It's really quite fascinating how it all works. I'll try to explain it to you here: On the main feed of the show that is sent to all broadcasters, there's an extra two audio channels. One of these channels is the live voice of the voting co-ordinator, and another channel which features just the presenters microphone. When it comes to the voting part of the show - each country is allocated a satellite frequency which they use to send the live picture and video (which you can see above) back to Kiev (or wherever the contest is hosted). The voting co-ordinator speaks to the country/spokesperson, and makes sure everything is working correctly, and then tells them to switch over to the presenters microphone audio chanel. The spokespersons then wait in a queue, and listen out for their cue from the presenter to give their 12-points live on air. What makes things very clever, is that there are only about 10 satellite frequencies available (but 40+ countries voting!) This means that as soon as a country has given their points, they must switch off their uplink to the satellite, so the next country to share that frequency can send their votes. It's fantastic how it all comes together on the night, as the rehearsals are often very chaotic with many problems. Hope this helps! ;)

This is so interesting! Thank you. People really don't appreciate how much of a technical feat it really is! Do you have footage of the rehearsals?
where is ivetaaa
Can you do one for the UK please? I wanna see Katrina
I don't think the UK voting was done via satellite. I wasn't able to find any footage. Sorry!
I like that laugh at 4:34. :DDDDDDDD
13:38 I don’t know who’s he’s referring to but he says one of the other spokespersons looks like a pervert ‘standing at the children playground’ 😂
But the laugh of the azerbaijan spokerperson?🤣
He looks so stoned at 1:26 & 9:31 🚬
AleKay333777 yeah
JURI!!!

Dihajer ESC öldüm ee gülməkdən😂😂😂😁😁😁
Azeri spokespersons said : bro ass opened :D
Emil Kazımov həə😂😂😂😁😁😁😁
Why Azeri spokeperson laughed?
I heard "Jamala" in somewhere, so I'm assuming that it was the infamous mooning scene.
i didn`t understand any word from him but i think he laughed to that Ukranian guy who jumped on stage.
yes guy ass opened
Esc Τony Maybe you dont understand in Azerbaijani. I am from Azerbaijan. I was laughed too
He said " the guy pulled his pants off and showed off his ass".He found it funny :D
and France ???
I don't think France sent their votes via satellite. I think they were sent via Fiber instead...
how did you get that?
Via satellite :)
Eurovision Eruption And how to configure the satellite so you get the Eurovision channel?
I can't stand the Greek spokesperson and his silly comments. I just can't.
Kinda ironic because he was in that Contest in 2005 for Cyprus, the country he gave 12 points to.
