His voice is so honed in on every studio recording. It's kinda annoying how he's not as good as the albums would have you believe. John's playing is so raw though
I heard them talk about recording it. Apparently, Andy Dick had come by the studio and it was he who suggested that John should improvise some simple solos to fill the space.

I really don't like this song much, and now I realize some of it was the production. The reverb is where it needs to be and makes it a little more interesting. It was just a bit too boring otherwise.

Vulnerable is such an appropriate word. The sound is very much reflective of a man rediscovering himself
This version really highlights the mixture of laid back-ness, emotion and groove in this song
