In Sept. 2023 X-Pro2 is not cheap anymore. I've just checked used prices and shocked. It's available between $950-$1100 depend on the condition. Also used X-Pro3 prices higher than new X-Pro3 prices, it's around $1800. Moreover, X-E4 starts from $1200 up to $1400. It was $849 when new one available. This is ridiculous..!
This is what keeps me off Fuji. Supply chain issues but also insane price gouging in the used market. Hard to get them new, absurd markup when they are inevitably discontinued early.
100% agree, I just bought a X-Pro 2 over the X-Pro3. I could not see enough in the 3 to justify the extra cost. I just bought a X-Pro2 with 45 photo shutter count in mint condition and I got it for half the cost of a new Pro3. It is a marvelous camera. Yes it motivates you to want to go out. Thanks for the viddeo.
I'm late to comment but I've only just come across this video and your channel. I love everything you've said. Yes, there are certainly times where you need high-end gear, the latest and greatest. If you're a commercial photographer who works to specific demands and expectations from clients, then yes, that's an appropriate reason. I used to do real estate, architectural and product photography. So highest resolution possible, lenses with least distortion, etc, I needed all that to be successful. But that was then. When I stopped doing commercial work to focus on creative work, it wasn't as easy a transition as I thought it would be. I kept using my high end gear. And while yes, it captured amazing images (in terms of resolution, dynamic range, sharpness), it didn't enable or inspire me to get out and shoot for the love of it. It didn't help me be more creative. I needed something simpler; something that was not just more portable, but also that forced me away from the megapixel race and obsessing about technical perfection. I bought an X-E2 about 7 years ago for travel. And it changed everything for me. I remember taking a 5-week trip to Europe and being anxious about not taking my Nikon full-frame, but I needed to travel light. In the end, I don't regret it at all. Those are still some of my favourite images. I did end up replacing that with an X-E3 because of the improved ergonomics, but 5 years on and I still have that X-E3 and an X-T3, and I use nothing else. It's opened me up to being more creative and more spontaneous, and that's really what photography is about. For me at least.

Back in my film days, I shot with a Leica M6 film rangefinder with 35mm f/1.4, 90mm f/2, and 21mm f/1.4 lenses. I patiently waited for Leica to produce a full-frame digital rangefinder that accepted my M-mount lenses. In 2015, I bought a Fuji X-Pro 1 with 23mm f/1.4, 56mm f/1.2, and 16mm f/1.4 Fujinon lenses as a temporary solution while I continued to wait for Leica to produce what I really wanted. In 2017, I finally purchased a black Leica M10 digital rangefinder. However, the M10 was so defective that Leica gave me a full refund. I later purchased a chrome M10 but it too was defective. I upgraded my Fuji X-Pro1 to a graphite X-Pro 2 and have been so happy with it that I have abandoned my quest for a digital Leica rangefinder.
How do you feel about upgrading to the Pro 2 from the Pro1? Currently have the Pro 1 and need insight about whether or not the "slowness" is a hassle compared to the Pro 2.
@@vaughnvalle I damaged one of my three X-Pro1 cameras while shooting a solar eclipse. Instead of replacing the damaged Pro1 with another, I decided to replace it with a Pro2. Just came across this video. Truth is I’m thinking about searching for an XPro2, but I had a chuckle at it being “so old”. I still use an Olympus OM1 that I’ve had since the 1970s.
Still rockin’ my x-pro1, never upgraded. It’s not w/o it’s quirks, but there’s something about the rendering that appeals to me. The lens i have on it most of the time is the Zeiss Touit 32/1.8. A fantastic combo IMHO… but of course YMMV. The important thing is to have what works for you and enjoy it!

Just got around to seeing your video. Well done! I have had the X-Pro2 since 2017/18 and it has travelled well through Singapore, Philippines and Australia. All the while picking up a few battle scars along the way. I was keen to see the X-Pro3 but not really a fan of the set up on the back. I do use a large number of different cameras (film and digital) as an enthusiast and collector (with a slight case of GAS) but the Fuji X-Pro2 is the one that suits my needs the most.
Great video mate! Great to see another fellow Helsinki-based Fuji enthusiast. I have the X-T3 but I am seriously considering hopping to the X-pro line, purely because it just takes away a lot of the distraction in the X-T line while being extremely pleasant to hold (compared to the X-E line which I found too small for me)
Nicely done. Glad the elephant in the room was finally revealed at 7'50" (cost ad not performance), 3 mn before the end. ;o) Just a few notes: 1-you do not have to shoot exclusively RAW (RAF) or JPG, you can also set up the camera to record both. It is very useful when one uses film simulations, especially BW as you can see the result with the JPG and always go back to the original unmodified file with the RAW file. 2-I am not a great fan of film simulation which is just adding a color, saturation, or contrast bias to a better file (more realistic). Having used film for longer than I have used digital, I do not see the point of resurrecting the flaws of film (grain included-cute for beginners but rather useless). 3-there is a slight inner contradiction in the video between "the camera/tool does not matter" and choose the "camera that motivates me to go out and shoot." 4-another minor thing although color rendition has been improved over the X-Pro 1, especially regarding anything any shade of green, there is still a little room for improvement compared to some other cameras (obviously if one uses "film simulations" this is irrelevant as the bias toward unrealistic colors is even accentuated). 5-increasing the ISO (=increasing the amplification of the signal coming from the sensor) generates noise (sometimes compared to film grain, as here, but in reality different-for instance with the creation of coloured pixels in the shadows) but also decreases the dynamic range of the photographs (resulting in blocked-out shadows or high lights, or both. These are details of course and your review is definitely an interesting one for anyone interested in that camera.
I liked my X-Pro2, but ultimately sold it. The Fuji was fun, but frustrating. Several minor quips, but the deal breaker was that fiddly ISO/Shutter Speed dial. I like to dial in ISO (rather than use Auto with Exposure Comp) and it was really difficult. The Pro3 has issues with the LCD ribbon and sticky shutter button (there's a class action suit against Fuji pending in the US) and there's no news on if there will even be a Pro4. The Pro3 has flaws, but it was popular. Every camera I check out seems like a series of (expensive) compromises. The camera industry seems focused on an ever dwindling number of customers who constantly upgrade to the next new thing. Except Fuji, who discontinue successful cameras (like the X-E4, X-100V, X-Pro3) in their lineup.
Great video. I also own the XT-4 and the XPRO 2. I’ve threatened to sell my XPRO 2 but just can’t get rid of it. I love the feel, the ease of use, the optical view finder and the photos it takes. Keep up the good work and hello from Aberdeen, Scotland📷👍🏻
Nice to see a fellow Helsinki photographer! My main issue is that I mainly shoot photos, but occasionally do video as well... My current camera, a Canon EOS 700D, is almost the same in all specs, with some advantages in the X-Pro 2. The main issue I have is just that my 700D is massive and annoying to carry around. I only use it for paid work and cannot stand carrying it for anything other than portraits because of its size and weight, compared to all my small, light film cameras. But, since I do some video as well, I'm interested to know what it's like on the X-Pro 2? is it still worth it, if I'm not getting a big upgrade in that area?
Sorry to say but the X-Pro2 has the Fujifil X Trans 3 Sensor in 24MP🙂 great video btw. Still holding on to my X-Pro2 Graphite Edition alongside the Graphite X-T2😊
*Beautiful images 📷! I am a fellow Fujifilm X-T4 user, I've never shot on the X-Pros but would love to try one out one day, have you used the X-Pro 3?*
Great hair and I thought you must be Nordic and obviously with the snow it's confirmed. But you people with English as a second language yeah you speak it better than many native speakers. Good review in comments I'm considering getting an xt2, I should even go a little cheaper I can't believe the prices on these used Fuji's these days, they're the trendy brand it seems.
I do like the chunky feel from xpro 2 and my 2 lenses. But am thinking of selling the lot to buy a fuji x100v, but i have an attachment to the xpro 2 that would make it hard to let go ☹️🙂
Can you kindly share your Film Sim Settings for the OOC Jpegs at 3:45? I love the Film Sims on my XPro -2, but hate the fact that the Custom Settings don't save the Color Shift for White Balance, and am thinking of upgrading to the X-T4 for that reason alone. Thanks!
Hi Sam. I've only one question which relates to the reason why I'm hesitant in considering an XPro2--How's your unit's eyecup? Has it held up or has it begun to degrade such that it would eventually fall off? (It's a very known issue of this specific Fujifilm camera body). Thank you.
Hi Nathaniel. The eyecup on my unit is as good as new. When it eventually does wear down, it is easy and inexpensive to replace so I wouldn't worry about it.
@@insightsamuel Thanks for responding. Hmmm. We're you aware of the issue before you bought it? Actually, yes, it's supposedly inexpensive BUT with the replacement (JJC's), I believe you still have to glue it yourself and even by doing so, it would still fall off at some point? I just hope that there's a way to get info if the latter batches' eyecup/viewfinder components were rectified that we won't expect the issue anytime. And then I'll consider it even perhaps selling my XT3 for it and getting an X100v.
I was on the waiting list and had one of the first X-Pro2s to come out. The eyecup was forever falling off, so much so that I eventually left it in a drawer. I sold that XP2 for the XP3 but regretted my choice, sold it and bought what might have been the last new XP2 in the UK. I've had no problem at all with this one and think they must have remedied the problem somewhere along the way.
@@ish8138 Thanks a lot. That's great news then! • How long did it take before your first XPro2's eyecup fell off? I photographed with the pro2 for a number of years, unfortunately the viewfinder broke! Then I bought the XT4 over the pro3, I didn’t like the back screen on the pro3. Haven’t looked back! 🖖
Hi! Maybe you can help me. I was trying to connect a monitor to shoot video to this camera. It doesn't work. I can view photos and videos, but I can't shoot videos using a monitor. Maybe there is a secret?
U can take the x pro 1 and do nice photography anyway. It’s not a gear thing! Those are all very good cameras. Someone that can’t do good photos with an older camera for example x pro1, xe1 etc. wouldn’t do it better with a brand new 3k camera. Nice photos btw and a nice little camera the x pro 2. In 2025 and after still a good camera to buy, I’m sure ;).
There are two areas where a 3K camera would be better: AF speed and the rendition of greens, very "Fuji" (back in the film days) which means not accurate. Improved on the X-pro 2 and then on the X-Pro 3.
i'm really about to pull the trigger on an x-pro2, and i noticed something in your photos that i have a question about and i couldn't find anything about it on google. i noticed your photos have a lighter black point (the washed/rinsed film look), is it possible... to do that in-camera? like with one of the profile recipes? or do you have to do that in post?
I disagree with your statement that you don't get a lot when going for the X-Pro3 vs X-Pro2. I have the X-Pro3 and I can say that what you get is the shooting experience. Having no visible screen, being completely in the moment of taking the photos is an experience that you can't replicate with a camera that has a backscreen. You're always tempted to check what you got and miss other moments. For some people it's worth it, I was immediately sold when they first introduced the X-Pro3 design. For others it's not worth it, and rightfully so. Sometimes I think about getting an X100V or even downgrade to the X-Pro2 so I'm able to shoot with the screen but then I come to my senses and realise that I love the X-Pro3 experience too much to replace that camera. Good for you that you enjoy the X-Pro2, it's a fantastic camera in 2022 for sure :)
??? If the improvement from the X-pro 2 to the 3 is just the screen, it is easy to fix: turn the LCD off on the X-pro2 or simply do not watch it (quite easy). Especially with the EVF I never look at my back screen except to change some settings which would be exactly the same on the X-Pro 3.
not anymore but honestly it feels like the marked is slowly going down, I keep seeing lower prices for X100V, the VI stocks seem to catch up the demand. I can see this dropping to 500 after the 2025 camera releases. we'll see.

The X-Pro2 inspires my creativity.
I had the xpro2 for years and regret selling it, that camera with the 23mm 1.4 is a dream combo. Contemplating getting an XPro3
I’m eyeing the xpro3 or xe4 too to complement my x100v
Why not just buy the XPro2 again?
@@hudster1969 Yeah I think I actually might do that… I just rented and returned the XPro3 and didn’t enjoy the screen experience
Sorry to say but the X-Pro2 has the Fujifil X Trans 3 Sensor in 24MP🙂 great video btw. Still holding on to my X-Pro2 Graphite Edition alongside the Graphite X-T2😊
Great vid, I’ve never had the opportunity to use the xpro2 but have had the xpro3 for over a year and I simply love it.
Yep, both superb cameras.
*Beautiful images 📷! I am a fellow Fujifilm X-T4 user, I've never shot on the X-Pros but would love to try one out one day, have you used the X-Pro 3?*
They may have similar output but the feel of the cameras are totally different. The xt4 is great for work while the xpros make you work.
Thank you for the video, I finally made my choice
Nice! Good luck shooting! 🍀
Beautiful photos!
Nice video ! I'd choose the X-Pro 2 in 2032
thank you sharing and being honest!
Compared to say a brass film camera, how does it feel in hand?
You're photos are great, man
Thanks Luke!
I'm looking for an x-pro2, but I can't find that 400 dollars bargain.
They have it on eBay for at least 800 and that with scuffs.
X-pro2 has a Xtrans 3 sensor not 2.
Yes, my error! Thanks for noticing!
also it is 24 Mp, not 26
24,6 mp yess
I would answer because it still works and takes pictures. 🤷🏻♂️
Good point ;)
Hey Samuel, great photos, great video. As a tip, try to place the mic near the mouth to dampen room echo.
Thank you! Yeah, noticed that too. I appreciate the feedback. :)
The camera goes perfectly with your hair. ;-)
I do like the chunky feel from xpro 2 and my 2 lenses. But am thinking of selling the lot to buy a fuji x100v, but i have an attachment to the xpro 2 that would make it hard to let go ☹️🙂
Keep the xpro 2
(Two friends of mine who owns an XPro2 kept telling me they're falling off).
• How long has it been since you purchased your second XPro2
• Why did you regret buying an XPro3?
Thanks again.
@@nathanielngosy have had my X-Pro2 for over since Feb 2019, bought new off e-infinity .... not isses whatsoever with eyecup, and drag this thing around everyday. rolling about on car seat and in bag ... no issues ..... yet 🤫
best digital camera in the world
I have 2cameras ‘Sony α7s’ and ‘FUJIFILM X-Pro2’🙂
you got a good price, i see them for around 800
Unfortunately the x pro 2 has jumped up in price because of the whole X100V phenomenon. A decent one sells for $1,000 all day
Wasn’t it the x trans 3 sensor ?
wait, you based in HELSINKI? Good video btw! Just sitting here thinking about picking up one of these!
I’m confused between the xpro2 and x100V they’re sold second hand at almost same price, I’ve seen tones of videos and it’s overwhelming how almost 50% say get the xpro2 and the other half recommends x100v, i need one just to get my hobby back i miss street photography and im so desperate to try the fuji system… any recommendations ?
If you are happy being stuck with the 23mm focal length get the x100v. it has the superior sensor. Otherwise xpro2 is a better option for you.
I have a xpro1 and others. But, I feel like I’m missing out on the experience of the xpro2. 😩
Xpro2 just brings out nice colours , it has its own style.. i used an xpro2 then switched to XH1 didnt find it as fun so i switched back to the Xpro2 🤣 thinking of getting a xpro3 in the future
La x-pro2 es mi camara favorita, pero siempre hay un pero... Hace ya casi 4 años que no logro que el ocular de goma quede fijo, siempre los piertdo, ya me canse es agotador. Alguien conoce alguna solución definitiva?
Hmm xpro 2 used is still selling for $900 that’s how much I got mine for. The xpro 1 is around $400-500, anyways cool video man.
Got mine for 600 in perfect condition :) seen for as low as ~450 🌞
Yes same for me 850€ for the xPro2
@@insightsamuel you got your x-pro2 for 600? :o
do you have the recipes used for the SooC images?
Ditto xpro1 and cheaper still all the shortcomings can be got around main thing it shares the good ovf with the 2 the 3 received a dumbed down version
I photographed with the pro2 for a number of years, unfortunately the viewfinder broke! Then I bought the XT4 over the pro3, I didn’t like the back screen on the pro3.
Haven’t looked back! 🖖
The X-T4 is for sure an amazing camera! It’s a jack of all trades and performs well with anything you throw at it, video included.
Hi! Maybe you can help me. I was trying to connect a monitor to shoot video to this camera. It doesn't work. I can view photos and videos, but I can't shoot videos using a monitor. Maybe there is a secret?
Hi, nice vid... XPro2 = Xtrans III = 24 MPix!
Totally agree.
Agreed! I recently tried the X-pro1 and it is still a very solid camera to use. Slower, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing..
I do it in post using the Lightroom point curve.
xt4 in the sheets, x pro2 on the streets
Xt3 is also a weather proof cam!!!
He was talking about the X-E3, not X-T3
@@Mitch_Alex thank you and my apologies!
does it have chrome film sim?
24 Mega pixels!
What’s the best 50mm equivalent lens for this camera all?
I have the 35mm f2 and rarely take it off this camera. Its excellent.
@@insightsamuel I’m just concerned about the lack of weather sealing on that lens as I’ll be in a humid and wet environment
@@WillFaulknerPhotography 35mm f2 is weather resistant.
Xpro2 is an excellent choice still today in 2023. 6 years is nothing, the Xtrans III sensor is great. The best of the best, now….. get out and shoot😊
400 to 600 dollars used. you can double that now but it will give you two years extra use(d)!
i have to xpro 2 n 1xe1
Please stop this kind of videos, I'm trying to get a cheap xpro2. 😄
$400 used? Yeah I don't think so.
The video is from 2022 so yeah it was 400 USD, but the dude decided to rebrand the video in 2024 to get more views.
not anymore but honestly it feels like the marked is slowly going down, I keep seeing lower prices for X100V, the VI stocks seem to catch up the demand. I can see this dropping to 500 after the 2025 camera releases. we'll see.
same boat
I wish I could find the Xpro 2 for $600 usd.
I prefer you show the result of the photos/videos taken by this beast rather than listen to you speaking the whole video
The XE series lacks character and soul to me... X pro series is perfect
Why I Choose The Fuji X-pro2 In 2025
man if you could only see the price of it now a year later $1200-$1500 used.. so sick of this price gouging BS
at this point i'd just get the xpro3 for an extra $100-$200
Branson Junctions
x trans 3 24
$400???? Where lol
Well spoken. Not a single um or ah. ;-)
Dammit. I can only hear that now.
Xpro 2 sells for $1100 used. Tf, $500? Links or your high af
It seems to have gone up in value since I published this video. I got mine for 600 in excellent condition.
I just bought one today for $600 on Mercari lol
@@forshniz lmao that was you? i was watching that one lol
Why I Choose to eat Pizza In 2022
i played it in x2 speed much better.
I'll save you all 7 min of video. The price. That's the only reason he chose the X-Pro2 over the 3. Your welcome.
X Pro 2 is not a real range finder camera.
