Great video. I like how the guy actually talked us through a lot of it and explained things. So many APP videos just zoom through it as they click buttons and don't explain why they're clicking buttons, or why you need to do certain things. Great job on this one.
Now, I'm usually the 1st person to criticize. However, this is a very helpful video.. However.... 2 shortcomings of this system. 1. Absolutely no on board programming! You cycle the key in the door 5 times, and the vehicle doesn't know what your trying to do. 2. There's 2 choices remotes. The difference is the lift gate. I don't know if one will work in place of another. On the same note, you call the dealership, and even they can't tell you what remote it takes. - I challenge anybody to prove me wrong... I've called 3 dealers about what part numbers these vehicles take. No bull💩, I'm friends with these dealers, and they're baffled... The best they can tell me, is they're OEM tool tells them the part number that it requires... So, I'm just trying to help the community here.
I looked at a 21 Tahoe this afternoon at a local dealer. They lost the only key. They could not pull a key code. Solved that with a Lishi. They supposedly have two remotes coming in tomorrow. We'll see if they have the correct remotes and curious if they will be able to program. I don't think that I have a programmer that will do this, yet.
This new programming protocol changes today I am facing a challenge I have to program a Silverado 2022 and I see the difference in the Closter that you are programming is still needles the one I will try is a fully digital Closter I have the correct key because it is spare and the curious thing is I will do it for a dealer of the brand so things will already study the probabilities, perhaps the autopropad does it since it says 2021 and more on its menu, so let's go ahead with this challenge, greetings from Texas.

@@advantagephc well, if you have the APP, just make sure you have the most current software. Otherwise, don't waste your time, it's a dead end.

I know nothing about CAN FD. Is it the adapter on the end of the cable? What is the gray box on the floor? Thank you , great video!

i believe 2021 and up models for gmc trucks need the canfd in order for you to program a new fob 🥲

Gray box is the vci and it's the j2534 box for programming ecus .... can fd it's the black adapter that hooked to the car obd2
I've seen some people are blocking the obd2 port with a plate now.
