This was such a great discussion on how to Pare down for a trip in general. Not only do you pack light, you also reduce the risk of anything getting lost or stolen while you are literally flying solo in a way. And thank you for the recommendations for a Sony kit as well! All your gear had a purpose and I loved all of it. Awesome work. 👍🏾
Wifey asked me why I watch these videos and I said that the dynamic content between short features, gear talk, diy’s, photography, and adventures it’s so packed with different content. Seeing some creators just talk about gear and more gear and hardly use any of it gets boring, so thank you for all the content.
as a nikon shooter my daily carry is a 14-24/24-70/70-200 - the holy trinity of lenses just cant miss. while I would love to shoot primes- a fast zoom just destroys any prime when it comes down to getting the shot in the moment IMO.
Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to Becki and Chris for all the incredible videos this year! I feel you guys are just getting better and better! Thanks for making my long train trips to work so much more enjoyable with the vids and podcast - looking forward to seeing what you two bring to the table in 2023!!
Have you ever had a battery that you fully charged go empty? Do you think it was a ghost? Asking for a friend. God I love your videos. So entertaining, cinematography is off the hook and we learn and get inspired!
I really what to get into photography and video making and you guys have been helping sooo much with these videos, I also love the style you guys do. Keep at it.
You guys are rocking the series game! I've loved them and learned a ton from you guys. Making me hungry to do a motorcycle trip (since I don't have a helicopter 😂) in 2023. Thanks!
@beckiandchris have you ever thought about using a lighter camera system maybe something like Omsystem with a 7-14 pro a 12-40 pro and the 40-150 pro and two OM1's. You get even beter ibis and beter theater proofing. I am a big fan of M43 gear. But I don't get why big RUclipsrs don't talk about this great system and is more affordable than fullframe Sony gear
I currently have a used cannon 70d. I'm saving up to upgrade, I will be doing mostly 2 things Talking head, and product shots (gunpla, Model making, action figure reviews)(hoping to do really cool b role). I was thinking of going sony. What camera would you recommend? If you don't mind answering if you have a moment if not no worries.
Another great video! Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. Those are some seriously heavy lenses though... Would love to know if you have some lighter combos too. I'm a big fan of the Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 and the Sony FE PZ 16-35mm f/4. I use those with my Sony A7C. As a full-frame setup, it doesn't get much lighter than that, which is great for recording on the move.
Hey guys! Maybe I misunderstood what you meant by this but if you own Reelsteady Go for your gopro it allows you to change the aspect ratio for your GoPro footage (I own a 10 and do it all the time for my FPV clips) it was just a software update to reel steady. You can choose 16:9 or 9:16 etc and it doesn’t crop the footage. Highly recommend 😃
The Hero 11 has a taller sensor (almost square) allowing you to reframe your shot, so it makes formatting footage from one take for either horizontal or vertical video a lot easier vs just shooting for a 16:9 format!
@@BeckiandChris Ahh I see. I shoot in a 4:3 ratio and change the aspect ratio in ReelSteady to what I need 9:16 or 16:9. It’s a good option just now at least until you pick up a Go Pro 11 if you ever need the 10 footage for social media 😃
Smug Micro Four Thirds fanboy here. My three lenses 12-35, 35-100, and 100-400mm (Full frame equivalent 24mm-800mm) weigh a grand total of 1.6kg for all three. Shant gloat about my camera that does 4:2:2 4k 120fps at ProRes to an SD card or external SSD card. However I have crap auto focus. Crap spelt with a capital" P". But then I don't have your cinematography skills, so swings and roundabouts.
Great video as always! Becky, Something has been bothering me about this set, and think I finally figured it out. I think it needs some kind of projection light with leaves gobos (like palm tree leaves, slightly out of focus above you two). I hope my idea doesn't come across as a bother. I am a HUGE fan of yours.... Chris is okay 😒 (I am kidding of course). BTW, the graphics for this series are 🔥🔥🔥
thinking about getting my first sony camera (coming from a canon 5dm3). i'm a photographer that wants to also learn how to shoot video. i feel like i don't want to invest in 2 cameras and would love to just carry one camera around. do you guys have any experience with the sony a7rv? wondering if that would the appropriate one to get (or go with a canon r5 maybe?).
We haven’t used the A7R5 yet and I’m not sure it’s video specs but if you are photo first that would probably be the move! A74 is also incredible at both photo and video, doesn’t have a sync port though, I think the A7R5 might if you do any off camera flash!
Loving your content. Greetings from the Dominican Republic. You have massive fans down here. When is your Canada to the Caribbean edition coming out? 😅
Would you consider a complete and full breakdown on how you build a shot lists, storyline, a-roll vs b-roll etc… even if it’s a paid master class? ☺️ I can’t wrap my head around how to storyline a video and end up overshooting and not using the content.
Chris! I want to fly fpv so bad but I'm worried that I'll just get motion sick and have a bad time. Any thoughts for someone who deals with that nonsense?
Can’t believe this is the last vid for 2022! Thanks all for your support this year, excited to bring some more fun content in the new year!
Can't wait to see more in 2023. Especially photo related stuff. Wish you the best in the new year, guys!
@@nqmt9968 thanks so much!! You too!
Seriously… when you say “dump your cards”, why not “every night me and Chris take dumps, so we don’t lose our sh*t”.
@Thetuxedotimepodcast | what happened ?..
@@MikeMena 😆
You guys make a valid point with the holy trinity of lenses for a trip. 16-35 can overlap with the 24-70, so that 12-24 is a great fit.
I do love the 16-35, it sure has its place with a standard thread mount on the front for filters but there’s something special about 12mm 😍

Between you guys and Sara, I'm really wanting some Sony glass...the two reaching from 12-70mm is quite compelling!

Hii Becki and Chris kindly make a review about DJI Osmo action 3!
the mini 3 pro would be a great space saving option for you guys as you can wasily charge it on usbc powerbanks. no need for powerbricks
Loved it! Enjoy the small break and i'm looking forward to see more content of you guys!
The best! Thanks you guys!
Love you guys! Laughed hard when Chris was talking about his flying (drone) passion :D
What an amazingly helpful video
I love the 12-24mm….I have the G f4 version it’s still great. Love the gear breakdown. Nice job as always!

What is the focal length you shot this video in? Seems like you're far from the camera. Love the look.

Great Video, Do you still have the A7riv or replaced the it for the A7iv? Happy new year guys.
I have been team f4 lately for the size benefits. 16-35f4 zeiss and 24-105 f4 G. Though, a 2.8 70-200 is so tempting!
Oh that’s a good set up! I love the 16-35 f4 also for its size, it’s a fantastic little lens!

Yeah for sure! We’re working on a course that covers a little bit of this but perhaps something more in-depth could be in the plans!
