I watched that video and didn’t once get mad about it or think it was without context. I’m here for all the random and the curated stuff, just because it’s fun to watch you two do things!
Thanks friend!!
Becki: "Maybe just a bunkhouse" Chris: "This episode we install the in-floor heating and the indoor lap pool" ...roughing it.
Oh, and helipad on the roof.
If I had Chris' job, I wouldn't do a darn thing in my off time. The dedication is admirable.
😂 Chris can’t sit still, he has a real hard time doing nothing
Could it be the Vit D def from all the dark room reporting? jk!
Savage Chris! 😂
You have a unique way of reinventing your content over and over again, I love it
🙏🏼❤️
Yeah, no kidding, this is so much fun! 🎉
I consexually agree to your new series 😜
I’m here for Becki & Chris. It doesn’t matter what you guys are doing, you make it awesome. I’m excited for the vlog style.
you guys need an Aussie designed and made GCI Traytec canopy on your truck for the ultimate overlanding & camping!
"Camping in the yard when it's snowing out." That is exactly when you need to read "To Build A Fire" by Jack London. Becki, until you read this, you are still carrying an incomplete for the course.
🤣🤣 I know it’s on my read list! I’ll have to make it a priority
It’s awesome to see the work you are doing on your property. We’ve been working hard on ours as well, and also plan to build an off-grid cabin. Hoping to document the process as well.
I really love all that you are doing, simple people entering normal life ! If you ever come to Quebec City let's me know !
As someone who is about to buy land in NYS, please all the info is welcomed! We are going to build our cabin/home on the property. I'd be so interested in this selfishly 🤪
Can't get enough of you two! You guys are my favourite RUclips couple....I mean I don't think I follow any other RUclips couples but still, you guys are my favourite!
I’m so pumped to watch this unfold!
Couple is just awesome people
Cool project. I’m presuming you know about all the temporary / semi permanent / modular build options. Would happily watch a video where you talk about these options and whether they fit with your project goals. Yurts, domes, and Safari tents are cool…
I’ve got by your Thom nail probably 20 times not realizing that it was you guys at all, so when I was going through my subscriptions I found out that this is you guys,
Thanks again.
Omg I’m so in for this!! Can’t wait! Loved your vlogs and so happy to see more of them again!!!! Thank you for posting!!!!
Absolutely excited for the series and None!! of your videos is pointless or not professional, Absolutely Love!! Every piece of content you put out
You two make me wish I could find someone with a similar spirit to do similar things.
I totally see you with a little 'tiny home' on your land eventually...looking forward to the series.
I love the expression "car camping." 3:01 To me, camping means renting a canoe and portaging and not seeing anyone else for a week. But THEN, I discovered 'car camping' which meant you could drive 45 minutes outside a big city, pull up at a campsite, pop the trunk, put on the stereo and drink beer and play hacky sack for 2 hours before thinking about setting up a tent or cooking. When you DO set up the tent, you get actual pillows from your bed and a duvet🤪At the time, we called it 'convenience camping.' And if you're not having a good time, you can be home in under an hour (as opposed to trapped on an island for 4 days in torrential rain until your boat comes) 3 cheers for car camping! ⛺🔥🙌
100%! Definitely two completely different experiences and mindsets! Love a good remote adventure but sometimes it’s fun to have a quick overnight with some of the creature comforts from home
Yessss! Love hearing about the new series, looking forward to it!
I love that you stress so much about the audience. We’re here for the ride. I know nothing about helicopters except what you’ve taught me. I know nothing about trucks except what you’ve taught me.
But I’ve learned to embrace my passions and try to spend less time at work and more time finishing my vlogs about riding my motorbike. And playing my guitar.
We’re here to find out how you both enjoy life so much other people can enjoy their life a bit more too.
I will be interested to see the series, but I have to admit that I started watching your videos because of the helicopter, and while I certainly understand why it's not a part of things right now I want to be honest and say that that is my favorite part of your work.
Sounds amazing! Found you through your vlogs and really liked them. 😍
This looks awesome! Looking forward to this series!🤘
Really looking forward to the Sleepy Creek series! I'm also not outdoorsy at all, but I'm super motivated to go camping with my (growing) kids and husband. So I'm looking forward to learning camping outdoors, gear and equipment, safety, food, etc with you both!
Aand here's me thinking I was an overthinker!!! Mwaha totally joking , so excited about Sleepy Creek! The outdoors is soo good for the soul and you both seem so incredible happy and inspired...which in itself is inspirational! Cheers from Scotland guys! Always love sitting down to watch your videos 😊
Best,
Derek
You guys are deadly, flipping love yall.
Fantastic. I am eager to see!
Both of you are ordinary but extraordinary. I have learned so much from watching your videos. You definitely inspire me.
So excited for you guys and this series! Can’t wait to see how it turns out!!
So pumped for this series! Love camping, super excited to see how you document it!
How many trees are you going to have to cut down to get a large enough area to safely land the heli… and will you use those logs/lumber to build your cabin??? 😁
Very excited about this series!
Love the idea. Love watching you goes grow, and not being afraid of change. Whatever you do, I’ll follow your vids!❤
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the scoop on the poop, guys! Your Georgian Bay camping on the 4,000,000,000 year old rocks with a chopper no less! I rolled my kayak on the 58th attempt! Glad I didn't quit after the 57th try! I have found a good home for the Delta 17 & Tsunami 145 kayaks. We camped a lot. There aren't any racoons in Frontenac Provincial Park. Keep up the incredible, visual, adventure stories! We love 'em! Do you have a sewing machine? I have about 30 0f them.
I went to Newfoundland in June 2019. Your home is beyond words! Sorry for blabbing! Cheers!
I loved the vlog for so long! And though ive really loved the long form series that you've made over the years (Mauzy was AMAZING!), I have really missed a good ol "peepin them leaves" vlogs. I'm excited. Congrats to you both.
Very excited for this series! Would love to hear a little about the flora and fauna on the land and if you are planning to encourage wildlife and native plants and stuff.
Im pumped!! love your vids so much
Very much looking forward to this series!!
We’re excited to share! It’s been so fun to make
Wooo, looking forward to this! I'm totally in a content desert right now LOL
Always love a series from you two!!
Thanks friend!!
I am always the one in the relationship that is fantasizing about what we could do, even if it is nowhere near possible. I'd say maybe 1 out of each 100 ideas actually makes it onto paper and then 1 out of that 10 actually happen.
Omg I can't freaking wait
Love it!
Great video. Thank you for posting. Please create a video about the engineering decisions and building/construction details for the structures that you have created on your land. There are probably considerations/surveys (slope? Hydrology? Site integrity?) beforehand too. Cheers from Canada
Can’t wait!
You owe us nothing! Absolutely love all of your content! I can’t wait to watch this series
Can't wait!!❤❤
I just love how wholesome these bloopers are 😂😂
I freaking love this!!! This is what my eyeballs needed to see!!!! 😅😂😊
The altimeter clock needs new batteries.
It’s right twice a day! 😬
Oh, I missed the one where you cleared the land because I was out of the country but I am going to see it now.
This is going to be a great upcoming series
Ahhhh this is so exciting, I remember when yall wanted to build one of those A-frame houses after you camped out in one of them. It’s so cool how yall are literally building your own world on your land, dope stuff!
Thanks much! It’s been a fun journey!
We were driving back from Gulf Shores Alabama today and a Rivian passed us. I (Kelley) was excited to see one in the wild. lol Can't wait for your series to start I want to so bad go camping in a tent but just haven't taken the leap.
Aw love it! You can always give it a try in your yard and see how it is!
I would love to own land and do something similar one day. Can't wait to see what you guys do with yours!
I've never been this early 😭
2 seconds ago for a video that took years to make
I feel .. idk but it's good lol
How big is the lot? Hopefully that will be answered in an upcoming video unless I missed it previously 😂. We love you guys and enjoy watching every Sunday! Keep it up!
Will be answered in upcoming vids! 😊
Looking for land right now. Plan to sit on it for 3-5 years and put a small shed or something on it. Mostly for Overlanding on our own property.
Yess it’s great to have a spot to camp on that you can eventually develop how you like
GUYS!!! I’m so excited for you! Love to see the full circle in this series - can’t wait!
Thank you!!!
After all this years like i thought you gonna be so professional soon. But this unexpected unprofession but i accept your reality. Version of me of you hopefully I'm running to professional, as an actual Filmmaking career. I'll be just damn. Like i wish i just be Chris. Savage!
I can't wait for Sleepy Creek merch - this is going to be an epic series!
You guys are too kind. If I got that feedback, or roast, i'd just think _f off._
I wonder if you could rig up an incinolet toilet to run off a small solar/wind system?? Could be a quick way to get outhouse operational on the land
For sure! We’re leaning towards a dry flush system with a battery and potential solar to keep up on the charge
Is there a big enough clearing on the land to build a helipad? :) Personally I love landing in confined areas!
How many acres are y’all working with and why did you choose that amount?
This has always been a dream of mine. Finding a small piece of land somewhere in the Sierra foothills, near swimmable water. Somewhere to camp, have a fire, responsibly, just a getaway for short or long weekends. Maybe more into my retirement, which is closer than I want to admit. Living vicariously through you! Nothing against you guys but it seems budget isn't an issue. Do you think about costs? Do you have a $ limit? Trying to be realistic with my dream but enjoy yours along the way. Love the new direction, looking forward to seeing what you create.
Sounds like an amazing way to spend retirement! Land is probably a lot cheaper in western New York than in the Serrias. We budget loosely with the philosophy of spending on things we love and cutting costs aggressively elsewhere. We aim to save 20-30% for retirement and spend the rest.
“Which tent should we use” so I am not crazy for wanting a third tent.
Please make the Sleepy Creek Logo a decal to sell. 🙏
FYI just spending some time with you guys is good "content"!
How do you buy land? what is the price of the land? how do you reacht your land (can there be somebody elses land in front of yours)? what are you allowed to do with your land (and what not)? How deep / high are you allowed to go? Are you planning on providing elektricity on your land and if so, how?
All great questions!! Some will be answered in ep 1 but will try and cover these in other videos!
@@BeckiandChris I can’t wait…and will probably have follow up questions for every answer you give (some saying about a wise man and a fool comes to mind 😝)
I would like to know more about finding and purchase of land
Episode one of the series covers the journey but will likely dive deeper on the podcast!
I'm fully onboard for the channel transition to all things outdoors, camping, overlanding, pooping in the woods!
Heck yeah!
Please post them consensually 😂😂😂
I'm genuinely so curious about the land-purchasing process! Did you find the land and go "yes this spot!" Was it a plot already up for sale? Do you have land neighbours?? What's the craic with building on it? So many questions but so excited for the series! (the logo is😙👌)
A lot of these are answered in the first episode! But will probably do a podcast or video breaking it down further 😊
How much land is "enough" (for what uses)? What are the pros and cons of different types of land? How much does land cost? How to search for land from afar? Any rules on buying land in one US state while living in another (or in one country (CAN) while living in another (USA)? Would owning a helicopter enable you to buy land so remote that there weren't roads there (ensuring its remoteness, and thus likely its low price?), yet via helicopter you could still reach it "easily"?
I recently shot my first short film and would love a chance to chat with you both about storytelling and constructing a series from real life goals.
Wait, videos are supposed to have a plot?
😂 I've enjoyed all the videos so far.
So I am trying to get more into camping, and was wondering if you tried the Uberleben Stoker? I bought their titanium pot/kettle and love it, but wondering if the stoker is worth it or would you rather a gas stove?
I have the stoker! It’s super fun for outings, especially little winter day trips, I don’t think it replaces the quick convenience of a gas stove since it needs constant attending to to keep the fire up to cook. but it’s definitely a very fun tool to have if you want that kind of experience without the commitment of building and extinguishing a regular campfire
@@BeckiandChris sounds like something I would enjoy adding to my kit then! I’ll add it and one of their fire starters to my wish list, thanks! :)
@@XxLogoit’s definitely super fun! I’m excited to travel with it for a beach boil up sometime this year
@@XxLogo Send us a DM on Instagram, I have a few fire making kits here I’ll send you one!
@@BeckiandChris I appreciate the offer :) I am in NS Canada though so don’t want to hassle you with all that shipping!
What's the latest on the heli?
Just moved from tear down to rebuild, hoping to get it back before the year is out 🤞🏼
Are you still coming to New Brunswick?
Yes!
I dunno - the pressure from an audience perspective is pretty high. Should I wait on the notification bell or just save up on a few episodes and call it a series? Actually, it's more technical than that when I have to decide whether to watch it from the den, the bedroom, our theatre or just whip out the phone. That means audio choices. Shit. I guess standing, sitting or laying down comes into play now. I'll figure it out. Carry on...
You do you, and I appreciate EVERY SINGLE one of your videos.
So what if it’s a different narrative, edit, etc. you’re NOT singular dimensional beings. People need to seriously relax.
As an (educational) content creator (mostly short form), I know how much goes into every single video. And mine are nowhere close to your quality, storyline, etc. So, kudos to you!
Keep rocking & Keep being yourself!
“The bag contains the poop, the tube contains the bag.”
I keep having this bad thought of a poopy bag exploding in the truck bed or in the back seats 😂
Hi - I am from Norway, and like your vlog, will there be more helicopter?
Helicopter is currently in for overhaul but once it’s finished later this year there will be more helicopter content!
U gotta adapt me man 😂😢😢😢
Sleepy Creek Heli port
100000%
Will there be a place to park the helicopter? 😊
Gotta have a heli pad
Oh yes!!
@BeckiandChris would be awesome to if u could clear put enough for a stolen runway. So ur west coast friends would have a destination on the east coast. Could make for some fun videos
Aluminum Extrusion = Camping organizing drawer for the rig???????🧐
I consent to Sleepy Creek, too. 🤭
Can you land the helicopter on the land?
LFTI
No context??? Sheesh people couldn't figure it out?? Yikes. I did. You bought land. You were clearing it. You were getting ready to do some further work on it with whatever you had in mind. I thought it was a great video. But then I'm Canadian, and you were doing a typical Canadian thing when a Canadian buys an untamed piece of land.
That was a year ago 🤔
It was, time flies!
My goodness....piss people off. You cannot expect to keep everyone happy with you...and even expecting to keep ANYONE happy is a bit of a stretch. Haters go away or bitch a lot and ... could be blocked.
Don’t listen to your viewers… we are the worst 😅
😂
Sooo... Reno series is dead ??? That's a shame, I loved the aesthetic, unsub for a year then. 👍
Not dead It’s just taking a reeeaallly long time because we both work full time and doing all the work ourselves. I was talking about the difference between the two series. Choosing to do each episode as an entire makeover vs breaking it up per project was a choice we decided to not make with sleepy creek for sustainability
@@BeckiandChrisamazing how ungrateful some viewers can be, unless I’m missing some kind of an inside joke here, in which case, I apologize dave. Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for the incredible content you guys publish every time, always top quality blogs, captures, editing… My goodness you guys are top of the food chain RUclipsrs. Thanks
@@human_first no inside joke
unfortunately. Thanks so much for the kind words! 🙏🏼
@@BeckiandChris: Good to know. see ya in a year then. 👍
@@BeckiandChris Don’t stress take your time. I finally bought a home so when you start posting again I will get inspired to start renovating my home.
Consexually 😂😂😂😂😂 nice one! Looking forward to your new series! It's gonna be fun like always!!!
