FYI - I see a lot of comments asking if these can be taken on a plane. Yes, all of these can be taken with you and the TSA specifically in the US wont be able to confiscate them since they all are under 100 Wh. Even the Anker 250W one is under 100 Wh.
Its surprising how much the 737 outperforms its 200W successor. Yes they came out with a 250W but the sales going on right now give the 737 a big advantage imo. Thanks for the info
I'd say the 250W Prime powerbank is the true successor to the 737. It, like the 737, features 140W output and input and 21V 5A PPS support, which the other two Prime's don't have. In addition, the 250W Prime also beats the 737 in battery capacity, charging efficiency, and thermal performance.

The charging base makes it worth it for me. It's saved me so many times during power outages. When you have to actually plug the thing in, and use up a c cable, and wall adapter, you're only going to charge it when you expect you need it or it completely dies. The charging base gives it a "home" i put it there every time I'm done using it or cleaning which means I always have 27,000 MAh available to me, which is a life saver during a power outage.
In my Opinion, the best Upgrade they made from 737 to Prime27k was the feature to be able to configure the USB-C Port to be Input only, Output only, or automatic. If you dont need that or the docking port or the rediculus 250w dual port output power, than the 737 is perfectly fine
When I am buying powerbanks, the right balance between size and capacity is important. I would not carry anything too bulky. After all these will be carried and not used at home. So apart from the 12K one I find the others overkill. 10K powerbank don't really charge with 65W so I could not even charge my laptop. It's not easy but thanks for the video.
Got the Prime 250W at a massive sale. 1. It has PASSTHROUGH charging! Powerbank can be charged while charging another phone. 737 can’t do that. 2. The remaining charge time calculator is an important feature for regular user who is not familiar with maH stuff. 3. Bigger screen and bt connectivty is a QoL improvement. 4. Worth it if also on sale.
Counter point to 1. I have never been in a situation where I needed this feature and can't imagine putting myself in a situation where I would need to charge a device and the power bank at the same time - not to discredit the coolness or handiness of that feature. If I was on a vacation and the hotel room only had one outlet I think passthrough would be the niche use case, but when was the last time the room only had one outlet? I hope Anker fixed compatibility issues on their new power banks because my brand new 737 24k power bank doesn't Super Fast Charge Samsung Ultra phones and it also has an issue where it keeps resetting the charge when plugged into my Strix Scar laptop's PD port, rendering it useless for laptop charging. Anker has admitted there was a PPS compatibility issue with Samsung phones and Lenovo laptops (or Asus ROG, in my case).
Mine is samsung 22 ultra. Regarding this compatibility issue with 737, i was about to buy it. Should i buy Prime 20k instead or this issue was only with your unit?

It would’ve been nice for you to dive a little bit deeper into the features of the prime, power banks, like how you can set your phone to finish charging to 100% at a specific time when you wake up for example. I think that is very important and advantageous to these models, as we think about long-term battery health.
I came to the same conclusion after comparing the various models. It depends as well on what you need a powerbank for, of course. But the 737 is on offer these days. And considering that it is only 2/3 of the large Prime model, it was the logical choice to me. Thanks for your tests!
I've had the same anker powerbank since 2011 and it doesn't charge fast but the battery still holds. I'm a full anker customer. Love this brand and will follow them blindly 😂
The reviewer lacked more testing. You guys did not notice Prime 250W can passthrough charge. While powerbank is being charged. The power bank is also charging my iphone. 😎 It’s a power user feature you never know you might need that 737 lacks.

The lights were not accurate. The Prime 250 didn't charge my phone that much more. I don't need pass through charging. $175 for the Prime 250 and I paid $175 for 2 737.
I got the Anker Prime 20K (200W) power bank for only $78 The 737 costs more and is just way too big and bulky for me. I’ve extremely happy with the Prime 20K

Ive had several shargeek and they have all broken down. Im not rough with my devices, and only use it occasionally for my ipad and phone. The last one was the storm 2 slim and it is bricked saying that it cant charge because the temperature is too low. Upon checking the internet, there is tons of people with the same issue. It appears to be the thermistor. Shargeek will not exchange it, the most they will do is give you a card for a discount on a new one. That is actually the reason that im here looking at this review, because i need a new powerbank. The shargeek is now a very expensive paper weight.

If it's not gonna charge your laptop once, I don't understand the point of the powerbanks as they are very heavy. I unfortunately can't find a reliable alternative in the Netherlands. I know Baseus and Ugreen will have problems after short amount of use. Powerbank upgrades are too slow. :(
I bought a 737 used online and it died within a couple weeks. Anker couldn’t help me because I didn’t have the original order number so I bought another one, this time brand new. It died within just one week. Anker is giving me a full refund. I wouldn’t recommend this power bank unless you are in for a bit of a gamble.
I have had the 737 for a year now and after 114 cycles the battery health is now at 5% and it dies more or less every time it reaches around 50%... Really made me consider if I should go Anker Prime 27K or another brand..?

This is likely due to you using the charger to its full potential. Li-ion batteries have a safe zone from 20%-80%. Staying within this limit extends battery life significantly, possibly by years. Every time you drain it all the way, especially during high wattage draw, it damages the cells the further you go below 20%. Similarly, if you go past 80%, it causes wear and tear. This results in reduced life. The higher the device wattage you use to charge and recharge, the faster you reduce battery life unless you stay within that limit. The extra heat produced also causes damage unless kept cool.
Hi great channel, I have a question in reference to this manufacturer. Do they charge by the portable solar panels 40. 60 watt etc.? I have looked for this kind of review and have yet to find one. I contacted Anker they gave me a vague answer here Please note that we haven't tested this powerbank or any of our other powerbanks with any solar panel, so we cannot assure you 100%. Generally, it is safe to charge our powerbank from any power source. Whether it's a solar panel or wall charger, or any energy source, it may be able to charge the powerbank, but it will take a very long time as the solar panel's power efficiency is not high. Powerbank needs constant power to recharge itself, which your solar panel may or may not provide; you could ask their customer service. Ignore the video. The prime 27,650 is better. The 100-watt charger is worth it considering that the in and out usb ports will have more traffic if you do decide to charge your power bank through the usbc ports. Those also lower the life expectations on those specific ports. Now charging it on the base from 0% to 100% takes an hour. At times, i can get 3.5 100% charges on my smartphone. This means i can get about 14 hours worth of charge just from the power bank 27,650mah alone. Not counting the fact that my phone would have 4 hours of power while playing pokemon Go. An app known to drain batteries. From 60% to 100 %, my phone takes 35 to 40 minutes to charge. This video doesn't specify anything that I mentioned lacks numbers and values. Cost wise, the anker prime 27,650 mah does cost more + the adapter, but at the same time, you get more out of it. The charger adapter alone makes the anker prime worth getting. I have a sit to stand desk with a lot of bells and whistles. The 100-watt adapter is worth it.
The iPhone charge speeds are the same for all devices since the charging the speed is controlled by the iPhone itself. All four supply more than enough power to charge it at max speed.
737 owner here. It doesn't charge up my latitudes or my asus zephyrus g14 AT ALL. Which is dissappinting as im taking a dell latitude with me where i don't have any power outlets.
just commenting to mention if you own the 27k and have a charging adapter like the samsung 65w you can plug 2 usb c into it and effectively cut charge time in half.
Just bought the 737 new for 100 €. Spending an extra 70 € on the Prime 27k doesn't make sense to me considering the minor improvements it provides. I could almost buy two 737s for that money 😅 Anyway, great comparison, thank you! 😊
The rated capacity of the 250W Prime is really low in the case of the MBP charging, it delivered only 13800mAh. I guess a lot of power is lost with conversion
That’s a good question. It would be nice if anker had a compatability checker for various laptops that their power banks work with but I guess the only places to find that would be Reddit or some community forums. It would be nice to pin point you to some video where someone’s tested all of the anker powerbanks on a variety of laptops but no one really would have the time, money and resources to do that. My video was not intended for that. I was just trying to give a general overview of the charging speeds and tests with the devices I have.
I am having issues figuring out how to charge my anker 737 just got it yesterday, from what i notice while i had the anker charge it lost power rather than gain power, I press the button 2x as the instructions said but that did not change anything, may i have some help? has anyone else have an issue
TO THE AUTHOR. I feel you left out one very important subject in your entire review. What kind of cable are you using? The supplied cable maxed out at 25 watt output. If you are using high speed cables won’t your iPhone charge rating be completely different? Correct me if im wrong . I just bought the 27650mah. Anker needs better quality control my second 737 just broke. ! The previous gen i had broke twice also. If you get one, there is a high chance you're going to need to replace it.
I can confirm. I had a 737, it broke. I had gotten it used so anker refused to honor the warranty. I bought another brand new and it died within a week.
I really would love the Anker Prime 250W bank to charge my DJI Mavic 3 charging hub that uses 100W to charge 3 5000mAh batts. I have an Anker PowerCore Elite III that puts out 60W and is 25,600 mAh but it loses a lot of power due to heat. I also like the fact that all theses from the 737 to all the primes, that they have 100W Super Fast charging and take roughly an hour to charge up....whereas mine takes about 2.5 - 3 hrs ti charge with its included 65W brick
Anker has the absolute worse privacy policy I have ever read. My version has a blutooth feature that helps you find your unit if lost. I downloaded the app. I dont usually read privacy policies but my spidey senses were tingling so i did this time. It basically sais that you have no privacy at all, they will access any and all data on your phone (without exception) and sell it to whoever they choose. So, i still love the battery unit and charger base, but I deleted the app without agreeing to anal probe.
Did you charge the 737 and 250w to 100% on the battery or 100% on the screen (the 250w needs at least 20 extra minutes past the 100% on the screen to be 100% on the battery. Your results seem too close between the 737 and 250w (with 737 showing more battery than the 250w)
Actually, I just ran a 10,20,30 minutes test comparing the 737 and the 250w and mirrored your results. That’s amazing how close they are for most common use cases.
If considering in my place they both are at the same price (and for 737 I have to get through non official store) which do you think better ? Is it worth it to get 737 with the same price ?
It really depends. If you constantly use the powerbank everyday and you like to charge other things next to it everyday than I’d say yes! The stand does make it easier to charge the power bank.

The rated capacity of the 250W Prime is really low in the case of the MBP charging, it delivered only 13800mAh. I guess a lot of power is lost with conversion

We know it will charge macbooks but will it charge IBM ThinkPad, HP, Toshiba, Asus, Samsung laptops!? Those are the common types most people have.
That’s a good question. It would be nice if anker had a compatability checker for various laptops that their power banks work with but I guess the only places to find that would be Reddit or some community forums. It would be nice to pin point you to some video where someone’s tested all of the anker powerbanks on a variety of laptops but no one really would have the time, money and resources to do that. My video was not intended for that. I was just trying to give a general overview of the charging speeds and tests with the devices I have.

I am having issues figuring out how to charge my anker 737 just got it yesterday, from what i notice while i had the anker charge it lost power rather than gain power, I press the button 2x as the instructions said but that did not change anything, may i have some help? has anyone else have an issue
TO THE AUTHOR. I feel you left out one very important subject in your entire review. What kind of cable are you using? The supplied cable maxed out at 25 watt output. If you are using high speed cables won’t your iPhone charge rating be completely different? Correct me if im wrong . I just bought the 27650mah. Now i need to buy a 140 watt charger with 2 usbc ports and high speed cables

Yes. Power Banks need to allow you to charge itself using all available ports these days.

Anker needs better quality control my second 737 just broke. ! The previous gen i had broke twice also. If you get one, there is a high chance you're going to need to replace it.
I can confirm. I had a 737, it broke. I had gotten it used so anker refused to honor the warranty. I bought another brand new and it died within a week.

If you are using 737 for steamdeck. You can only use 1 full charge steam deck with a remaining 21-26% pbank capacity. Dont get fooled by mah.

I really would love the Anker Prime 250W bank to charge my DJI Mavic 3 charging hub that uses 100W to charge 3 5000mAh batts. I have an Anker PowerCore Elite III that puts out 60W and is 25,600 mAh but it loses a lot of power due to heat. I also like the fact that all theses from the 737 to all the primes, that they have 100W Super Fast charging and take roughly an hour to charge up....whereas mine takes about 2.5 - 3 hrs ti charge with its included 65W brick
Anker has the absolute worse privacy policy I have ever read. My version has a blutooth feature that helps you find your unit if lost. I downloaded the app. I dont usually read privacy policies but my spidey senses were tingling so i did this time. It basically sais that you have no privacy at all, they will access any and all data on your phone (without exception) and sell it to whoever they choose. So, i still love the battery unit and charger base, but I deleted the app without agreeing to anal probe.
I need 12V PD and from my research the 737 doesn’t support it so it’s a Prime unit for me. Please let me know if I’ve got this wrong.
Did you charge the 737 and 250w to 100% on the battery or 100% on the screen (the 250w needs at least 20 extra minutes past the 100% on the screen to be 100% on the battery. Your results seem too close between the 737 and 250w (with 737 showing more battery than the 250w)
Actually, I just ran a 10,20,30 minutes test comparing the 737 and the 250w and mirrored your results. That’s amazing how close they are for most common use cases.
Why are these so expensive. They have the same wattage as a typical drill battery. Should be about $50 each.

Anker 12K is 370 grams. Anker 20K is 545 grams. Anker 737 is 630 grams. Anker 250W is 659 grams 👍

It really depends. If you constantly use the powerbank everyday and you like to charge other things next to it everyday than I’d say yes! The stand does make it easier to charge the power bank.
