    Nice mate, I miss my stage 2+ dsg edition 30, it was a 5 door DSG in black with similar anthracite original BBS Pescara wheels. Great cars once tuned they're a handful and lots of fun. Starting to show their age but I'd still get another for all their small issues that you need to stay on top of.

    I know it's minor but look into changing your dipstick. The orange ones are prone to fail and the latest revision is a yellow one from VW

    Brother in christ I see nothing but my own Edition 30😂 Black with original wheels, rust above arches, bolster torn, the dreaded sagging headliner and loose handbrake leather. Looking forward to see how she ends up🙏

    Awesome video!! Love these mk5s and had one for the last 10yrs!! Def recommend to get the forge motorsports pcv delete plate, get the cam follower changed, update coil packs to r8, polybush the lower engine mount as this makes a huge difference for £30ish pound and one of my fav mods in terms of bang for buck even gear changes feel tighter as less movement, upgrade spark plugs to NGK BKR7EIX and get a decent cold air induction but can see this is my next video which I’ll watch now! Def recommend polybushing the front wishbones especially the rear bush on that as I replaced mine with genuine and then got advisory’s within 2yrs! I now have polybushed these and put new Meyle ball joints and got it tracked and feels Planted!!! Love these cars although I have a love hate relationship with my car 😂 I still wouldn’t sell her tomorrow for double what it’s cost me because it’s such a nice car to drive and loves the miles!! Keep it up mate will be watching the rest to get up to date and hope new content drops soon 😎🙏🏻 keep up the great work- can’t believe you haven’t got at least 50k subs!! 👊🏼

    I'd say, give the engine a good service, new plugs, new oil cap, new O rings on your dipstick, then I'd check your coils and make sure they haven't failed causing your misfire, it's really easy to test those and same with you MAF.

    5:13 depending on how much you drove the car till that point, your thermostat also seems to be broken. Once the car hits 90 degrees celcius water temp (pretty much exactly the middle) it should never ever even drop a single bar below it again until you turn off the car and let it sit for an good amount of time.

    • @matimcfetridge
      @matimcfetridge  Год назад

      Thermostat is thankfully fine mate, car had only been run a little 😂👌

    Loving this content so far. I have just bought an edition 30 which has some of the same problems, so I am invested in this series and looking forward to seeing where you go with it. My wheels are anthracite and I wish they were standard silver!

    I wish I'm lucky as you, this car looks good, about misfire first clean throughtal body and check air flow in canester valve.

  • @whatsdavedone104
    @whatsdavedone104 2 года назад +1

    The slight miss fire could be down to the "oil cap" causing a slight vacuum leak

    OEM silver for those lovely BBS's. Nice choice on Michelin PS5s. Let us know what you think of them- I'm probably going to get them for my GTI when the time comes.

      Check out the other videos on the UP GTI on my channel, been running PS5 on that since they were released! Very good tyre but would say they wear faster than ps4

    @derekgb3780 2 года назад +1

    I couldn't pick up an obvious misfire from this video - the exhaust sounds non-standard. Is a code reader picking up misfires? A slight vacuum leak would tend to raise the idle speed a bit. A misfire under load is typically spark plugs but as this car has been re-mapped - one never quite knows the quality of the work. Standard clutches often wear prematurely on a car tuned beyond stage 1.
