Épico épico épico sin duda el mejor capítulo de la temporada
La que intérpreta el ángel de la muerte, excelente
3:41 kiss of death
Imagine thinking you are going to Valhalla, then finding yourself in Hell ..
One in the same really. Just look at how they portrayed Lagertha's journey there. Bit of a descension..
The song is "isa" by wardruna.
As far as a few comments I saw saying pagans were brutal and no wonder they converted to being Christian:
Ummm except she CHOSE to be a sacrifice. If you look at the writings of Ibn Fadlan, they had to be willing or would not be sacrificed bc they would not be "pure." Whereas you Christians or people who think Christianity is peaceful killed more people than any other religions combined. Remember when Athelstan is crucified for being a Northman's friend? They did that and much, much worse. Tortured people, had absolutely barbaric executions, women held zero power unlike the power they had as Viking warriors and Nordic society and in their pagan religions. And don't even get me started on crusaders. Most Christians back then and even today are the most UN-CHRISTLIKE people. Jesus valued women and "fallen women." Mary was not a virgin. That was likely a mistranslation. So please, 🤫.
But aside from that. Interesting tidbit; there are nine priests on each side of the boat. Nine horse heads. Everything is a multiple of nine. Even the men Gyda sleeps with. Three is a multiple of nine. Odin sacrificed himself to himself on Yggdrasil, the world tree, for nine days and nine nights. This sacrifice opened him up to the knowledge of ancient runes, magic, secrets of the NINE worlds (there are nine worlds in norse mythology). Nine is a number of power. In Uppsala, they sacrificed nine species and nine of each species to the gods originally once every ear then once every nine years. Nine is a number of power, magic, runes etc. Just thought I would share 😊
The ritual sacrifice is actually real, I remember reading about a poet that came over to watch a Viking funeral, he talked about the maidens being lift up and down thru Garland wreaths then had sex with all the men of the town then was killed by Angel of death
