    Wow great vid! Just what I’m looking for! If you have more things running through your receiver, would this still work where instead of the tv it would go into the receiver, and additional splitters for over 2 devices going through the receiver?

    • @lbs
      @lbs  11 месяцев назад

      Sure thing! Glad I could help. That’s a great question and TBH… I don’t know. I would think that it would work with the receiver. I would think the only potential decreases in power or bandwidth from using multiple splitters if the splitters don’t allow you to direct the path of the signal. I’m sure others are in the same position as you. So, if you do test this out, would love to hear how it works out and maybe we can help somebody else in the process.

    One question I have is do you still have to use the Elgato chat link to get chat sound? Or will this eliminate that problem? I have the Elgato HD60x

    • @lbs
      @lbs  5 месяцев назад

      Really great question! Game sound comes through the HDMI connection. However, to get party/lobby chat to your stream while still being able to communicate to party chat through your mic, you will need a chat link or similar set up. I'm currently experimenting in how to set up some alternatives that would allow me to use my stream mic for both game & stream chat. I'll definitely post when I have a good update on this.

    Hey man I appreciate you making this video I don't see enough people talking about this. I want to get this set up but it would be a shame to give up VRR. That is the exact thing that was happening to me before I turn off the VRR. So I'm not sure exactly what it might be for you, but I would start with checking that have all HDMI 2.1 cables (a 2.0 cable might be cause of some issues), if switcher settings are correct (out2 is toggled to 1080P & EDID to copy), try turning off allow YCC 4:2:2 (located where you turn off VRR), & check to see if it's doing the same other games. Hope this helps!

    So with this setup I can record the games im playing on my xbox series x at 4K 120fps without any performance drops?

      No. This allows you to continue playing in 4k 120hz while you capture device allows you to capture at the max output settings of the capture device.

      @lbs right, I guess thats what I was trying to say haha. I play cod in 4k 120 but my xbox can only record in 1080p up to 60 seconds and I have to initiate that recording everytime which stopping to do that mid-play in a multiplayer match is annoying and ruins the flow. Also the upload quality for YT Shorts is awful. I am looking for a way to increase the picture quality of my shorts while simultaneously not having to constant start the recording when im going off haha.
      So to summarize, this will give me higher quality shorts then correct?

      @HcKingPin ahhh. Got it. So on Xbox you can clip in 4k. You just need to update the settings. If you just want to record your gameplay and sort through for the clips later, then something like OBS w/ a 4k 60hz capable capture card will allow you to capture high quality videos on your comp for content. Just would recommend record to your comp vs streaming and utilizing vods for the content. Depending the specs of your comp, recording to the comp is the best way to keep highest quality.

      @lbs you are correct. The only draw back to that route is the xbox can only record 30 second clips in 4K
      With having to stop after a few gunfights to clip 30 seconds is tough and often I dont get the entirety of the content in that 30 second clip. I am looking to have a setup that just records everything I do in 4K/120 then after my session I can go back and clip out the parts I want to make into shorts. This way I wont have to stop my flow mid match to start a 30 second recording, or have to worry about missing parts of a good gameplay.

      @HcKingPin yea I know what you mean w/ the clip length. The OBS + capture card route would be best for you. Just get a sizable SSD for storing your clips.

      @@AzaiaMonota I hear you, but that isn't my experience. It's very obvious when I'm playing at 1080 vs 4k on my 4k monitor. I have seen FPS fluctuations in games like Spider man on PS5, but not the case in my COD experience. All in all, if I were see a slightly better experience of 1080p & 60fps, I rather be able to play at my max allowable quality vs being capped at a ceiling below. I assume others would too, but I understand we all have our preferences.
