I found if I take an old tooth brush, spray the brush and then use that to brush the gray hairs next to my face I’m able to touch up the grays at my temple without spraying my face. Good luck
fgfg fgfg My mother-in-law-in-law started using Nice & Easy at 40. She was a very busy woman and never had time nor desire to go to the hairdresser. At 96 she moved to an assisted living facility, there she started to get her hair done each week and had them color it. Then one week she had her long, long golden hair cut. We were all shocked and she loved it. We only got to see her soft golden locks before she went to bed. She always wore a bun and people knew it was her about a 1/2 mile away. She passed away at age 98 and was still a beautiful, smart and so respected person.
I have used the Loreal root spray in dark brown. I had a really embarrassing moment when I arrived home after a day of shopping only to find 2 dark rings around my eyes because the root spray had rubbed off onto my sunglasses when I put them on top of my head. Learn from my mistakes ladies 😘🇦🇺😘
Kaye Donald that happened to me, I had striped down my nose from putting my reading glasses up on my head when reading and down to see details. I was a teacher and the kids thought it was 😂 was
I really enjoy using L'Oreal's Touch up spray. What I don't like is the colored scalp. To avoid this, I use a very thin knitting needle (2mm / 0.078 inch) that I put directly over the parting and then spray over it. This will keep the light scalp visible and keep the medium brown color great on the hair. I can only recommend this, it looks absolutely natural and will last until the next wash.
I'm growing mine out, I'm 59 and have been colouring my hair for 40+ years and I'm sick of it, I am naturally dark and have had blonde highlights for the last few years to disguise the greys and the thinning hair! But recently my hair stylist has been putting in dark brown foils instead of blonde to blend in my natural colour, the blonde and the grey, it's a work in process and I am interested to find out what my natural colour is as I've forgotten! Also if I don't like the grey I can always colour it again but as I've got older I am leaning towards a more natural look, no more botox and less make-up, my bank balance is thanking me for it at the moment too!
Go for it! I'm a year into growing mine out. I'm 35 and even though it's been tough, the longer I go, the more I'm in love with the silver. The first few months were really hard, but the longer it gets the more obvious it's intentional. If anyone is considering it now would be a great time b/cyou might get to have that first few months at home! I even feel I've started to love myself more. The other thing I've noticed is how often people think you look older when you grow it out...this can be true, but I've seen hundreds of before and afters and in so so many cases women actually look more radiant and sometimes even younger. Not sure how it works. Of course, coloring or not coloring is a choice and every woman should do what SHE wants and not what others do whether that's rocking dye or rocking your natural silver.
Same here, Alison! I have been coloring my hair in some fashion since I was 18, so...42 years! I couldn't even recall what my natural color was. When my hair stylist told me I was at least 60% gray, I decided to just let it go. We had a plan for me to gradually transition, then the pandemic hit. I have about 2", it's blending in without too much of a demarcation and I really like it.
@@dmn4747 Brava! I grew my hair out and stopped coloring about 5 years ago. L O V E I T ! I never used to get compliments on my colored hair, and I get compliments on my platinum hair often. Cheaper, no toxic chemicals and my hair has never been healthier! :)
I ended up cancelling my April 1 appt, but I paid my stylist her usual fee anyway, just to help her stay afloat. She is very affordable, and it is in my usual expenses, so no big deal for me. I'll keep doing that until I feel I can go out again. Until then...ESalon!
Don’t stop the videos Angie! This is coming from a long time viewer and an MD. Self care is important right now and, let’s face it, we all have some extra time on our hands. I’ve even pulled out my nuface which I purchased a few years ago and it had migrated to the back of my cupboard when I moved and got a puppy.
I've used both Gray Away and WOW and they both work in a pinch between salon visits. In a couple of weeks I'll need to do something more permanent. I haven't dont this in years! Fortunately I was able to text my stylist for some guidance. I will be braving the storm soon. Just not ready to go gray! Stay safe! ❤❤❤
I’ve used the L’Oréal between salon visits and I too use it after showering on wet hair but immediately after spraying it I sort of buff it in with a dry washcloth. It helps blend it and keeps the sides from looking obviously “sprayed”. I use morrocan oil on top throughout my hair and then dry... it avoids that dirty feeling and takes minutes to do large areas of gray In my darker roots without touching my highlights.
I've been coloring my own hair for close to 30 years. For the past few years my grays are sprouting so quickly that I need to touch up my roots every 3 weeks. Revlon Colorsilk used to have a root touch-up product that was awesome... it looked like a bingo dauber and worked like a charm! Of course that was discontinued but it was actually more expensive than the actual box of color - my beloved Revlon Colorsilk is still less than $3 at Walmart! So I just color my roots every 3 weeks and I've been good. Like Angie, my stylist does a major color once or twice a year and all is well. With the touch-up sprays, my hair doesn't feel dirty, it's more matte and almost crunchy. Yeah, not a good feeling. But like the poster below this one, I've been spraying it on after I comb out my damp hair and fluff and it works out great. Fab video Angie!!
Angie, I just started watching your channel and I am already a huge fan!!! I am 65 and been self-quarantining for 10 weeks. I had a serious accident and broke my neck, collarbone, and wrist. Have been coloring my hair forever (at the salon), and I miss my stylist/therapist. I have low and highlights in my hair so this root problem is tough. My grey is also around my face. However, since I am home bound, you have given me some ideas. I have thought of embracing my grey self, but can't convince myself. My roots are about 2 inches and I hate looking in the mirror. On an "aside note," I have eyebags (hereditary) and just watched your video on eyebags and concealer. I've tried everything and think I can buy an island in the Caribbean on how much money I have wasted. Thanks for the advice! I will be binge watching all your videos. I have the time.
I'm going on 54 and have been coloring my hair (very much like yours!) for many years. Last time I was at the salon in Feb, I surprised my stylist by saying I'd like her to color my hair so it will look natural as I grow out my grays. That was good timing considering I won't be able to see her until May at the soonest. This video has great info if I change my mind.
I got a giggle thinking about getting caught out in the rain and having my hair color running down my face! Thank you so much for sparing us such embarrassment. You really are a dear.
You turned me on to the Revlon root touchup and I love it. used to use Clairol before I saw your video. And now I recommend the Revlon product to everybody. I love the fact that you could use it more than once.
HI everyone, I use eSalon and love it! I'm 62 and for the first time starting to get grey hair farther and farther back on my head. I just purchased a new type of eSalon specifically for grey roots. You get color for the grey root touch-up and another bottle of color (for me golden brown) for the rest of your hair. Will be trying it this weekend. I think it's a great idea and they must be listening to their customers because this wasn't offered last year.
Angie , I have a very old memory from years ago and I wonder does anyone remember a product called Roux Fanciful !! I started hairdressing 40 years ago and it was a very popular product for more mature ladies between tints ! I always remember the blonde one called frivolous fawn ! What a blast from the past ! Take good care , love debs x
I am 11 months in to transitioning to my silvers. I am loving it! But when I was covering my roots, I loved the L'Oreal spray and the ColorWow powder. Very helpful video, Angie!
Hi Angie, I love how you’ve pivoted to include videos that are geared to our collective new reality. Next up, how to shape your bushy eyebrows at home?
I can't wait to go grey but while looking for another job, I will put it on hold - ageism. Looking forward to less maintenance and using less chemicals on myself. In the meantime, I use Naturtint.
I subscribed to eSalon at your recommendation and it is my go to. My hair has never looked better, shiny and healthy, which I did not get from drugstore ones. I also like the Revlon Root Erase that you recommended for in between - so easy! Never tried a spray yet. Now to figure out how to trim my hair........
I ditched the dye 3 years ago when I was 37. I feel so free. I think you'd look stunning with natural silver hair. When I did color my hair, I did like Madison Reed's Root Touch- Up. It worked really well.
ESalon came! Followed your video used my husband’s assistance, and it was easier than I thought! A silly thing when we are not going anywhere or seeing anyone - but having my hair look normal when I look in the mirror is a definite little bright spot. Thanks!
I've been using the L'Oréal root cover up lately on 3 inches of grey regrowth, in the color dark blonde. Is a perfect match for my hair and extremely easy to use. My go to cover up spray was out of stock at ulta - bumble and bumble hair powder in blondish which works very will for me without that 'heavy/dirty ' root feel. The B&B powder is very tricky to apply, so L'Oréal has the leg up there! I've always combed my product through my hair and it does minimize that dirty feel, as the previous poster mentioned. I also use the spray as a low light once in a while.
In Vancouver , Canada our hair salons were closed 2 weeks ago. I am 59 and am now I am watching my roots with interest, to see what's growing in and in what colour and we will deal with what happens. I do notice that my hair is falling out more. In a telephone conference with my doctor ( on other medical matters) I mentioned my hair loss. She said that this is natural in times of stress and is cyclical. AND that her hair is falling out too so not to worry too much of this happens. And lets all stay safe and wear lip stain (not gloopy gloss) under our face masks.
I love the Revlon system. I bought it when you did a video on how to use it. Apparently everyone else loves it because very early on when we first heard all our salons would have to shut down I went to get the product and it was cleaned out at every store I went to. Even Amazon advertised it and I ordered it and it was a slight variation -- it didn't have the one container to squirt and apply. Thank you for these tips. It will help me keep busy, well at least one day.🌺
I recently discovered your channel, and I have to say that I Absolutely Love Your Videos!! They are so helpful in my everyday life. Plus, I thought I was at the mercy of these rude hairstylists who have made one too many "mistakes" with my hair for God knows whatever reason. And they get angry (believe it or not) if I don't intend to visit them very frequently too, and try to shame me that they are buying or have bought a house, etc.. OMG. I plan to primarily do my hair at home too from now on. Thanks Angie !!
Such a FANTASTIC video, I've been coloring my own hair for 10 years. It took a lot of RUclips tutorials and even a little chemistry refresher but I am so much happier with the color I achieve than when I used to get it done professionally. And it's such a great way to save a ton of money!
I LOVE your idea of contacting my stylist. Though she's only recently begun coloring my hair, I've been thinking and worrying about her finances. I will reach out to her today!!!
Per her suggestion, I used the Revlon permanent root erase. I kept it on for 5 minutes because I didn’t want to overdue the shade. It looks really good and blends nicely w the rest of my hair. I know I will probably have to reapply it sooner but it’s exactly how I want it. THANKS ANGIE!!!!!!
My stylist had a little package set up. I paid through Venmo picked up at her front porch, at a designated time. Kit had color, developer, paint brush, q-tips and pink gloves. So easy and totally worth the 45 bucks because it was my color she normally uses at her salon. Also like you said Angie a way to support her business. Wish I could do the highlights but not that skilled ! Thank you for the information passing along to my sisters.
Hi Angie, I have been using the sprays for a long time, they are the best. However when I first used them my husband who is a lot taller than me, asked why my scalp was black. I now place a very thin wooden bamboo stick along my parting before I spray. No more black scalp.
I have grown out my gray and decided I HATE it lol. Cant wait to get back to my stylist. Thanks for making videos. Your happy beautiful face is a light in all this pandemic darkness 😃💕
I'm using Salon in a Bottle spray root touch up. Around the hairline i spray some on a hard non-porous surface (like glass, mirror, old plate). Then using one of my quarter-sized Artis dupe brushes, I brush the color around the hairline for a soft touch up. No spatter or over spray. Only on your scalp if you want it there. I have light brown hair and this works for me.
Angie, you should check out a fairly new product, Clairol Root Touch-Up Color Blending Gel. It is a temporary color, which means it lasts about 2 weeks (longer for me because I only wash my hair twice a week), so it's not damaging to your hair like semi permanent or permanent dyes may be (for people who are concerned with that. What I love about it is that it's in a tube with a brush at the end, and you squeeze the product through the brush to get it on your roots. I have gotten 3 applications so far with one tube, and I still have 1-2 more left! The other great thing is that they have a red/auburn color (i'm a natural redhead), which is almost impossible to find in anything other than a permanent color! You can find it on Amazon or Target online. They also have a touch up powder as well that matches the gel.
Thank you for pointing out how expensive it is to go to the salon. I was quoted $350 for the color I wanted. Too much! I have now learned how to highlight and color my hair at home. One day I will splurge!
Call around to different salons ,to get prices,go to less fancy salons in middle class neighborhoods the prices are cheaper there and the gossip is sensational 😁
And when the cupboard is bare and money is scarce, I rely on my trusty sharpie! They need to come up with a better brown however, as it is too orange, so I usually use black, even though I’m blondish out of a box. Works well enough for 89¢ !😀
I just bought Madison Reed ... I have not done my own in years and actually going to have my boyfriend do it as I sit and he stands and that itself is SCARY I’ve even used a permanent marker... it works 👍🏼. Will never grow out grays !
No greys yet (except my pups, greyhounds lol) but love e-salon permanent color & highlight kit to freshen up my blonde hair! Stay safe & healthy everyone! 💜
So, so pretty! Your hair and makeup...perfect! I'm a TV personality and wish you lived near me so I could have you do my makeup. I've gotten so many great tips from you since your presentations are always super thorough. Thank you!
$300?!? Can you find someone in your area that does a nice color for less? I asked around & found a lady at my church who works at a stylish salon $45 for color&cut, $75 w/highlights and it’s always a beautiful, consistent color. Also, Angie...we will probably never meet on earth but I feel we are friends, thank you for honest & genuine content, God Bless! 💕
Guess it will be the spray on color for me for while - and then I’m figure the rest out! Thanks for this video.... at 62&1/2 I am going kicking and screaming with the white/grey roots! It’s all good! Keep Yourself Well & Present in Love, Light, & Gratitude!
I tried to grow out my gray too, but I'm not ready. :) I only have about a half inch of my natural roots showing. I will touch up my roots soon. Thanks for the videos. I always look forward to them, especially now!
It’s the time to embrace the grey! LOL. I did that at least 5 years ago. Long silver fox hair. Completely natural. And gets thicker every year! No more hair color fallout. After coloring it shades of blonde for many years! I get crazy complements EVERYDAY. Never before as much in my entire life. **I do have to admit it’s gorgeous!** 🤪 Elsa Hair! You and I are the same age and both look terrific. *humble much* 😜
Glenda Hawkins it’s funny how every woman that goes grey talks about it like you wear a badge of honour. It must have a very special affect on ones psyche.
You are so talented! Thank you for the shout out to those of us that have decided to go gray. It does take a while, however, during this time, I am glad I started this process 3 years ago. You look great!
I use Color Wow to color my grays.... And my grays grow FAST lol. I also do a Clairol root permanent color every 45-60 days. Thank you and love your channel ♥️
I tried the Revlon Root Erase per your last root cover-up recommendation. Got the Light Brown and it matched my hairdresser's color perfect! 2 washes so far so good. Will wait to see if it lasts 10 washes. before I try this I had actually thought about contacting my hairdresser and asking if they can drop their dye solution or if I can pick it up, but I was thinking that it sets up after a certain period of time so that wouldn't work.
Thanks Angie! I have some of these products and will give it a go since my salon cancelled my next appointment. You give me the confidence to try taking over my own coloring needs... you are right. I could save so much by just getting it professionally done only twice a year.
the Color Wow was more like Color Where for me, did not cover my roots even a little. I am safe for another week or two, and every online source I tried was out of the Revlon and Rita Hazan. I have signed up with eSalon, and hoping it comes before my hair is a mess! I have never really colored my hair myself, unless you count Sun-In in the summer of 1980! I will be watching your how to video soon! Thanks for being here!
Hi, Angie, I ordered the Revlon Root Erase. I'm sure other ladies ordered that or the eSalon color. Would you do a video next time you do your roots showing us step-by-step how you do the roots. I've never colored my own hair and would love a tutorial!
I have dark hair, and have been dying my roots for years, staying with the natural colour. I've tried dark blonde highlights to hide the growth, which makes my hair (and skin) look dull, so that's not an option because my natural dark hair suits my skin. I'm very grey at the top of my head only, so I can't grow out my grey because I'll still be two-toned, which sounds horrible! (And to lighten the still-dark hair to be all-over grey will destroy my hair's texture.) I've also tried colouring my own hair, but I ended up ruining the quality of my hair. So I pay a fortune every 5-6 weeks just to be grey root-less for maybe two weeks, because my hair grows so fast. Honestly I wish I knew what to do - I love my 'natural' hair colour and feel too young to go grey, but I am throwing money away for very short-lived results.
It's a little sad to see you in the room you have shared with us for so long, knowing that you now have moved to your new home. Today my ex and I would have been married 37 years if we'd stayed married. I need a change, maybe going blonde or something else drastic. It will cost $400 here to go blonde from my dark brown/gray, so I wondered how to manage gray hairs and dark roots at home between salon visits. Thanks for being such a great teacher and host, Angie
Your so informative. Can you do a hair tutorial on what products you use for shampoo, conditioner and anything else. Your hair looks so soft and shiney.
Thanks for being on top of it, Angie. Perfect timing for this subject. I’ve been using my L’Oreal spray as my roots grow out and struggling with the question as you say, is this the time I should just go gray? It would be so much easier. I just don’t think I can. Not yet. I had not thought of connecting with my hairdresser to get a color batch. Great idea. Thank you!
Your help with the root issue is much appreciated! On your upcoming self dye...our hairdressers in our area are adamant - don't do it! - & I don't understand why. 🤔
My wisdom hairs are around my face and I’m using the everpro gray touch up (from Ulta) it is a powder and it’s great, easy to use and doesn’t transfer or feel dirty.
I was going to cover my grey roots this morning and I purchased that Revlon Root Erase, I must have received a dud container cause no color came out of the other chamber so I didn’t get to try it, purchased the dark brown. I was reading some reviews and others are having the same problem with their cans. I was so sad it didn’t work for me. My stylist will mix my color for us but we have to use it in 4 hrs. Going back to my Clairol root touch up when I need to go to the grocery store.😂
I used eSalon for the first time a week ago and love it. Highly recommend but I’m used to dye my own hair I don’t have grey hair to worry just yet I’m 42 I guess I’m bless. Your skin care videos are the best love you channel!
I used to use the Rita Hazan spray, but actually, I ifound that i like thw Wow powder better, because it looks more natural for me and doesn't weigh my hair down as much as the spray does. I do have to touch it up after a couple days, but that's not an issue.
I thought about going gray for several years. When I was in Florida this winter for several months with no touch-ups, my daughter commented that the grey that was growing out around my face was really attractive! That did it! Before all this is over, I'll have 6 months of hair growth without coloring under my belt. It helps that I have longish hair that I usually wear in a topknot.
Great video Angie! My hair grows SO fast (not complaining!) I usually get my roots done every two weeks. So considering I may not be able to go anywhere until June, I am contemplating embracing the gray. Ask me again in July.....stay safe and well!
I've been using Revlon Root Erase and really like it. I tried the Loreal spray on and couldn't get the spray to come out without leave a big spot where I sprayed it. I didn't think it looked at all natural but I have friends that like it!
I've been a hair colorist for over 30 years. This is good advice, I like the L'Oreal. But if I may say, having watched you for several years, your base color always looks too dark to me. It appears to be a level 5, too far away from your level 9 ends. Lightening the base to a 7 or 8 will be more flattering, plus the contrast with your natural color will be less noticable when it grows out.
Cameras tend to do weird thing with highlights. Mine can look way too light because of the lights and HD. It may not look like that IRL. I know you weren't being mean, just explaining what happens to me,
Oh my goodness I absolutely love her contrast, it's so on-trend and beachy and a part of the reason that Angie looks so amazing for her age. Have you seen her before and after pics from when she first started RUclips? Her base was lighter and it totally washed her out. This color makes her skin and eyes pop. Plus, most importantly, she is so happy with it. Keep it up, Angie, you look INCREDIBLE.
I was brave... I bought commercial color and did it myself. My roots are white!!!! Pure white.. not ready for that. I also use Color Wow powder and a spray in between. I'm so happy with the permanent color that I used, I'll continue to do it myself and save a ton of money.
Hi Angie, I have to use these temp gray coverage options within 2 weeks of getting my hair color done. I prefer the Everpro powder and sprays. I prefer the spray with minimal roots, and the powder when the gray gets more massive. Lol! The powder is not as tacky or weighty for when I have more to cover. And, I never have any problems with the powder coming off like you have experienced, even through workouts (and my head sweats profusely). With the COVID-19 salon closure, I recently tried Madison Reed after consulting my regular stylist, and that wasn't bad. Definitely better than going gray for me! Thank you for your awesome videos, Angie. They are always very informative and interesting, and I look forward to every one!
Do eeeeet! :). I did, about 5 years ago, and have never looked back. I figure if I really feel like something different, I will put in a very temp color like Fanciful or some other truly wash-out color. But I never have. Get compliments on my platinum all the time and my hair is SO HEALTHY now! :). It was getting so brittle and straw-like but now it's shiny and healthy. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
I love e salon. I have been using it for 5 years. I saw the video you did on halfing the solution. Don’t know why I didn’t do that sooner. I was always throwing half of it away.
Hi The Marc Anthony, Gray Root Touch is a spray and I find it works the best for me out of anything I have tried. The spray doesn't go all over. Schwarzkopf spray is okay but the spray drips all over. The clairol for me transfers onto my pillow. Thanks
I’ve been using Madison Reed powder on my roots so I can get right up in front of my face. Even though I’m not 46 in 90% white 10% dark brown so I’m using a semi permanent from Sally’s Brand Ion so I no longer damage it. I’ve been switching up and adding a fun toner on to, lavender this time.
Im loving the crayon ! I use the spray currently all though I do feel my hair feels heavy and stiff.. And i get spray on my bathroom stuff whilst attempting to cover roots
Hi sweet Angie. Thanks for the tips and tricks. They are especially helpful now! I colored my hair myself and boy did I make a mess, ruined three towels and splattered some on my bathroom cabinet door. I tried the salon but it came to $22.00. Is there a code to use I additionally to the link? Thanks a million!
NJ: My salon mixed our colors! I drove up one person ran out I handed over the money out and I got a cute little bag with all I need. However, I am 53 I have been getting my nails done since I was 18, I soaked my acrylic/gel off and I am `going to start doing my own nails!!!!
Like you I’m am not ready to go grey. I have the Revlon spray, it did take a bit to be able to spray it on my sides when my hair is pulled up. My grey is mostly at the hair lines. Did my own pedicure today.🤗❤️😘
My favorite is the Revlon Root Erase also and amazing that we get more than one use out of it let alone 5!!! Such a great price. I'm going to look into the Everpro Gray Away Quick Stick as it looked easy and I'm gray on the sides too. Grateful for hair toppers too that cover up thinning hair and grays at the same time. LOL !! You look lovely as always, thinking of you so much. Sending big hugs and love to you Angie xoxo
Thank you for continuing on with the videos! I enjoy the little bit of regular life these videos bring. These tips are great! That hair crayon is on sale on Ulta website.I am using my time at home to try new make up looks. We're all going to come out of this pandemic looking fantastic.
Thanks for the helpful tips, Angie! Love the Revlon Root Erase!! I get a good 4 uses from it and need to leave it on 15 minutes for my coarse, gray roots. Keep the great content coming.
My salon sold the custom hair color before they closed. They enclosed it in tubes and gave me gloves, brush, bowl and mixing stick. It was nice not to have to worry about my roots!! For $50 there is enough for 3 touch ups if you only do your part and around the hairline.
Thank you, Angie. I'm crossing my fingers that my stylist will be able to open shop before I have to attempt to color my grey at home LOL. I haven't colored my own hair since "The Year of the Horrible Hair" back in the 90's. I was attempting to highlight my hair. It was supposed to stay in for 25-30 minutes so I decided to hem a pair of pants while I waited. I lost track of time and left the color in too long! I rushed to wash it out when I realized it had been in my hair closer to 45 minutes. When I took off the towel and looked in the mirror I looked like Tony the Tiger with orange stripes all around my face! It was absolutely awful! I begged my husband to go to the store for me (I didn't want to be seen in public). He reluctantly agreed out of sheer pity. Thirty minutes later he called me from a payphone in a panic. He said, "Do you have any idea how many different colors of blonde there are to choose from? How am I supposed to know which one to buy?!" Well, I didn't know either so I asked him to do his best and choose whichever one he thought would be like my natural hair. My natural color was commonly called "Dishwater blonde". An unfortunate combination of brown that's not quite brown and blonde that's not quite blonde. So, I said just use your best judgment. I trust you. He chose ash-blonde because it sounded like that would be a dark shade of blonde. Ashes are dark usually, right? The color swatch on the box looked a lot lighter than "ash" sounded, but I knew I couldn't send him back to the store. So, I used it... and went from Tony the Tiger to this ultra-weird Bimbo blonde color that looked as fake as a three dollar bill. All I could do was cry. I knew if I tried a third process of any kind it might literally ruin my hair. I was stuck. It would have been nice if we'd been under quarantine then! But no such luck. I had to take my kids to and from school, attend PTA meetings and sell Real Estate. All while looking patently ridiculous. When I finally went to a hairdresser after waiting for what I thought would be long enough, I was told my hair had been overprocessed. She refused to do any "color correcting" for fear my hair would break off altogether. She said I would have to let it grow out. It took a full year of awful short hair cuts to get back to the mousy brown I was trying to get rid of in the first place. I vowed to never color my own hair again! So here we are. Stuck in a whole new reality. I'm due for a root touch up in a few more weeks. I think I'll stick to the spray-on solutions and hope to God my stylist is able to reopen shop before my hair gets too far out of hand. Geeze. I think I may be suffering from PTSD! Thanks for all the great suggestions!! In His love and service, Sharon Bollum
I recommend ColorWow powder. I have had much more success with that than I have had with sprays, especially in terms of precision. You can even make temporary highlights.
I found if I take an old tooth brush, spray the brush and then use that to brush the gray hairs next to my face I’m able to touch up the grays at my temple without spraying my face. Good luck
Sandra Mortensen good tip mate!
So clever 👏! Thanks 😊!
my mother is 90..still looking fabulous and she dyes her hair blond... still...I love the way she stays young💕🌈💟💃
fgfg fgfg My mother-in-law-in-law started using Nice & Easy at 40.

@@margaret77494 Oh no that's awful but hilarious 😂
Hahahaha! Thank you SO much for the laugh!
Good for you, that's so brave! I'm ready to let go just yet but I will probably get there!
Alison Tideswell keep going I’m a year in and I love it! So liberating and actually getting so many compliments about my silver streaks! 🥰
@@dmn4747 Brava! I grew my hair out and stopped coloring about 5 years ago. L O V E I T ! I never used to get compliments on my colored hair, and I get compliments on my platinum hair often. Cheaper, no toxic chemicals and my hair has never been healthier! :)
I love the powders because they don’t weigh my hair down and covers well around my receding hairline. If you’re in a pinch, eyeshadow works too.
As well as eye brow powder.
@@Karenkaza1 Yes, forgot about that one! 😊
Yes, I have red/auburn hair and it's almost impossible to find a touch up that's not blonde or brown. Eyeshadow or eye brow powder works great!
I ended up cancelling my April 1 appt, but I paid my stylist her usual fee anyway, just to help her stay afloat. She is very affordable, and it is in my usual expenses, so no big deal for me. I'll keep doing that until I feel I can go out again. Until then...ESalon!
Sarahmaybeme Thank you for doing that. I am a stylist and this has been a very hard time for our industry. ❤️
I miss my hair stylist😫😫. My husband is starting to give me the side eye😒. He might even ask me how old I really am 😎
LOL!

Maybe your husband needs to grow up. We’re in a pandemic, you know.
@@user-jc8py7dw7r It was just a joke. He just wants us safe. You be safe also.💚 it helps to laugh sometimes.
Stay safe! ❤❤❤
Root Erase has changed my life & time!! :)
Angie coming with the content we NEED!!! 💕
Six_ Terrys YES 🙌🏻
ESalon is fabulous. Never going back to boxed color. In a pinch, the Loreal Root Rescue is not bad. Not sticky like other root sprays.
I got a giggle thinking about getting caught out in the rain and having my hair color running down my face! Thank you so much for sparing us such embarrassment. You really are a dear.
I had that same vision only with hundreds of us women running around with dripping dye!
@@Karenkaza1 lol
I remember that and I used the purple one for my "frosted" hair.
they still make it, it’s now a foam...i use the #52. ( purple )for my blonde hi-lites❣️
I feel like this is not the time to embrace my gray! I feel lousy as it is, I don’t need to be fighting any other fights right now!
It will help me keep busy, well at least one day.🌺
Thank you Angie, I pray your daughter(s) are staying healthy as well as your whole family. You and your videos are a welcome distraction!
Thank you Erin! We are all healthy, I hope you and your family are too! xo ~a.
Mine is $105 for high/low lights or root cover and cut. It's my perk to myself every 5 weeks.
Works well enough for 89¢ !😀
Lesley March 😳
Wow! I'm inspired
I just bought Madison Reed ... I have not done my own in years and actually going to have my boyfriend do it as I sit and he stands and that itself is SCARY I’ve even used a permanent marker... it works 👍🏼. Will never grow out grays !
The Revlon Root Erase is the best - last’s 6 weeks at least - no need to use daily sprays or crayons & super easy & fast. Also use to tint my brows
Thank you!
Thanks, Angie. Looks like we’re going to have to learn how to do this ourselves!! How about a video, too, on cutting one’s hair.
I've never been so glad to have ditched the dye than I have been during this lockdown!
Hi, Angie,
I ordered the Revlon Root Erase. I'm sure other ladies ordered that or the eSalon color. Would you do a video next time you do your roots showing us step-by-step how you do the roots. I've never colored my own hair and would love a tutorial!
I've been using eSalon for a few months now. The coverage is the best for grey's. The Loreal spray is great.
I've been doing my hair at home for years. Not sure how anyone can afford to go to the salon every month??
I wish I could color at home successfully..I am going to try with a demi-permanent, maybe tonite, to see how it goes..
I would love to see you do your highlights!!! I’ve been wanting to do them myself for awhile now
She does have a video where she shows how she does her roots and highlights
My wisdom hairs are around my face and I’m using the everpro gray touch up (from Ulta) it is a powder and it’s great, easy to use and doesn’t transfer or feel dirty.
Wisdom hairs, I love that.
Angie...I met Tiny Tim (remember him? 🌷🌷🩰) he had some red hair dye dripping down his face. Verrryyyy attractive!
I like her contrast. It is a personal preference. 😎
I was wondering if this is the time to let myself go grey....it’s so hard tho!
Join a group of women in the same position. Going gray gracefully is one on Facebook. Great support system!
I did it 2 years ago and it is the most liberating experience I have ever had. Join a going gray Facebook group.
Do eeeeet!
Absolutely! I stopped coloring as of December 2018 and so glad I did. It was a very liberating experience for me and I'm so loving my grays!
You are the best! Slim, intelligent, smart!
I love e salon. I have been using it for 5 years. I saw the video you did on halfing the solution. Don’t know why I didn’t do that sooner. I was always throwing half of it away.
I love the Revlon root erase! So easy to use. I’ll have to try the crayon to help my small whitish hairs that frame my face. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for sharing your tips, tricks, experience and knowledge in such an honest way!
Hi The Marc Anthony, Gray Root Touch is a spray and I find it works the best for me out of anything I have tried. The spray doesn't go all over. Schwarzkopf spray is okay but the spray drips
all over.
What are you using to curl your hair right now? Looks great.
Do you ever trim your own ends and long layers? Please share anymore DIY hair maintenance as this is perfect content at this tine.
I also really recommend L’Oréal Excellence for a total gray coverage. And the Conditioner in the box is really good.
I'm going to look into the
Everpro
Gray Away Quick Stick as it looked easy and I'm gray on the sides too.
That is awesome!
In His love and service,
Sharon Bollum
Omgoodness you posted a whole blog post. Good luck!
Thanks Angie, look forward to your videos especially in these times. Please keep them coming 🙏🏻
Thank you Angie. You are so helpful. God bless you and your family
I recommend ColorWow powder. I have had much more success with that than I have had with sprays, especially in terms of precision. You can even make temporary highlights.
