Hey i have a question i got a little 87 yota kinda looks like yours im trying to decide whether to lift it or leave it stock and sell it. My truck doesn't have power steering ad i wanna throw some 29 x 9's on it and i dont know if that would be a good move. Any help?
I installed the ball joint spacers as well and have nasty camber issues….wore out my tires on the outside bad…I am running 205/75/14 …you have bigger wheels is that the deal?
Hey that's really nice, got a '92 VW Taro (hilux) 2wd myself. Did you lift it that high in the front without doing anything to the torsion bars besides tightening that bolt on the top? Thanks in advance
Did you turn the torsion bar at all? I have a stock 1987 Toyota Pickup 2 wheel drive and i want to add a lift just like yours so I can go on some trails but nothing crazy, I just want to be able to clear some rocks and ditches. Do you have a video of you doing the work?
The lift is a 3" Performance Accesories from 4wheel parts and the wheels came off a 80"s jeep, they were chrome but I painted them black. The balljoint spacers were made by my brother at his machine shop but you can buy them online for about $100 for the pair.
ThePerez6 what inch size are your balljoint spacers and when you tighten the torsion bar do you back up the frount end and the back and and then also what kind of rear lift brackets did you use looks awsome love it
I know this was seven years ago...looks to be a body lift kit combined with that ball joint and shackle lift, amiright? Looks good, btw...hope you still have it.
I dig it. I have an 86 2wd toyota on 33s. 2 inch body, bj spacers, same shackles from autozone. And lots of cutting and banging to fit the tires and they still rub. Looking to do a fab tech 3.5 inch lift. Possibly in a few years a total chaos uniball on the front and swap out the rear for Chevy 63s
Cool! I've got a 92 2wd. like to lift it. so what i understand i need is 2-3" ball joint spacers, extended shackles or blocks for the springs in the rear? ....and a body lift kit or is it necessary? i no not much about lifting a vehicle but it would be nice to have the clearance when on a trail getting fire wood. your thoughts? thanks!
Ball joint spacers don't lift you're truck ...they only give the upper a arms clearance after you wind-up the torsion bars ....this is not the way to lift you're truck ! Contact " custom tube works " in Vista CA. For 4"lift spindles . Way better , will keep everything in line , not tweaked out of line
Nice lookin lil yoter
1984-1987 4x4 fenders are a bolt on for the 2x4 if you want a little fender coverage
Nice! I have an 87 aswell. It's entirely stock, im debating on lifting it and putting some tires and wheels on it.

did you have any issues with gas tank, or break lines, etc with installing the body lift?

Giving us the silent treatment!! Not even a shot out!!
what shackles did you use? bad ass little yota want mine to look like that
Did you have to extend brake lines or the steering linkage when you put on the body lift??
I noticed that you still have the spare tire mounted under the bed. Can you still take it down after a body lift is installed??

Did you do the fab tech 3.5 lift? If so, how is it, worth the money?
What pre-runner bar did you order? Can you post another video after you get it on?
DID you have any complications with the body lift? ......... did you have to extend anything?
just simply turned torsion bars up a bit
What did you do for a rear locker?
Rear shackles were bought at Autozone $15.99 and torsion bars are ALMOST turned up max. All the work was easy and done at home with basic tools.

E. Squatch Can't do blocks if the springs are under axle.
