- Time from the motion picture INCEPTION.
Composed by Hans Zimmer
Arrangement by John Heath
Produced Entirely on the Arturia MINIBRUTE
Recorded every note/part individually on 132 audio tracks. Submixed down to 18 for final mix. Every note played on the MiniBrute. No other external controllers were used. DAW used for recording and editing/engineering audio was Propellerhead Reason 9.5. Enjoy!!
All our congratulations John for this wonderful and impressive performance.
This is absolutely amazing and the source of much pride for all the Arturia team.
Now that's a well deserved comment, amazing John, just amazing.
I think Arturia should lend this guy a Matrixbrute indefinitely.
Thank you!!
HA! Someday, I will own one of those.
Even Arturia took notice :) well deserved. Absolutely stunning. I'm blown away that this is done using just the Minibrute
This is insane, it sounds so close to a real orchestra, unbelievable
I have no words. Your skill at sonic manipulation and creation is beyond anything I have seen on RUclips using such equipment. Congratulations on a fabulous piece of work
Thank you, Marc!!!
Thanks to SonicState for bringing this to my attention; incredibly inspiring work! A real technical feat!
Thank you, Ben!!!
Remarkable, can't believe I'm just now hearing this!
A wake up call to what's possible.
Staggering.
So dead-nuts-on-target it is staggering. Incredible performance and sound construction
Exceptional production and programming skills
This is really begging for a behind the scenes breakdown.
I am working on the Imperial March next and will be posting progress videos and tutorials on sound design and mixing as I work through it. Stay tuned!!
Excited to see that!
I dialed in a few your patches and was surprised to hear some different tones coming from my minibrute, the piano especially is very sombre for this usually aggressive machine. The strings however are a testament to your production skills as they didn't sound particularly real on their own and dry.
Anyway, great job!
This redefined synthesis.
Mind completely blown.
Just...perfect ! The original song is really emotional for me, because of personal story between this song and my daughter. And listening your version, some tears came in my eyes. The proof the version Is really good... for me, and my history !
Wow - thank you so much for sharing. I'm so happy this brought joy to you and your day. I really appreciate you. Thank you!
Wow, brilliance!! I just bought one, a beautiful performance. ❤🔥🔥
Congrats on your purchase. You will love this synth.
Thumbs up. Well done Maestro
Thank you, Arthur!!!
Outstanding work John. Mind. Blown!
Thank you, Richard!!!
Hi Yuri what amazing re-make loved it as all the other stuff. Never knew you were Malaysian. Parents are from there now living in the U.K. London. Malaysia is definitly one of the best places for food in the world 100%. Hopefully I'll meet up when I come next year.
😮 My jaw just hit the floor!
My DAW just hit the floor!
Marky wins the internet with that comment!!!!
Fricking awesome.
This is unbelievable tune !!!!!
Sonicstate brought me here to be mesmerised by your incredible recreation of Time. Amazing work John.
I second that!

Me, too! Amazing!
Yup, me too. Kudos!
Brilliant. Crazy. I'm speechless.
Absolutely Fantastic!
Thank you, Paul!!!
Wow, beautiful work. Well done.
Glen D Thank you, Glenn!!
This is insane! Could never imagine this was possible from a 1-oscillator monosynth!
Amazing sound design! You've blown my mind!
I have to watch/hear it every day...
Thank you!!! I am so glad you continue to enjoy it. After 6mos of listening to it, I'm ready to throw myself into oncoming traffic. :)
John Heath I can tell you, I listen it time to TIME :)
I had to come back for another listen.. beautiful:-) you know John, I hope everyone appreciates the long hard work you put into this. being from a similar background, I know you can totally immerse yourself in a project and most of the time you don't reap any reward. But here you have indeed done something special and I wish you every success in the future.
Mick.
Thank you, Mick!!!!
Yeah what arturia said. This is beyond what i ever imagined the minibrute could do. I shall play around a little more.
Totally Blew away, WOW..........
Thank you!!!!
Spectacular!
Thank you, Michael!!!
Stunning!
Thank you, Daniel!!
Seriously well done! Amazing.
Mike Martin Thank you, Mike!!
Simply amazing!
Thank you, Jonathan!!
I'd listened to loads of demo's on the Mini Brute, none of them sold me, and I came on this one by accident, and I immediately thought WOW and bought one the same day I viewed this, and I've even recreated some of the sounds used in this video, all I can say is very well done, no video has ever convinced me to by a synth ever, this is a very beautiful rendition of a classic piece.
Blown away by this! Truly awe inspiring.
THANK YOU!!!!
Absolutely amazing 👏
WOW.....! incredible work John !!!!
If I could have hit the like button 10 times I would have. One of my favorite songs from my most favorite composer. A truly awesome creation. For some reason this song just moves my spirit. Amazing!
Tracy Pyle Thank you Tracy!!!

Thank you!!
mindblowing... insane.. jaws on floor
You are god of Minibrute. This synth was created only for this tune. Best "one synth" track i EVER heard...
God of MiniBRUTE!!! Well, when I come to power, I will spare you first. :) Thank you for the kind words!!!
Incredible ! Each instrument is perfectly built . Bravo !
Thank you!!!
Wow !!! ... incredible work !
Amazing. Great job John.
Bravo! Awesome work!
Thank you, Fady!!!
Hans Zimmer is a favourite composer. You have really captured him here. Stunning. Just blown away by this performance. Gave me chills listening to it 😁
Gwynn Music Wow!! Thank you!!! Coming from you, that means a lot!!
I never comment on RUclips but for once I have to, this is just wonderful. Well done sir.
Thank you!!
John this is truly outstanding. You are an inspiration.
Thank you, Scott!!
Great Work! A version without all the EQ, delay and reverb would be very interessting. The reverb is often the key for a great sound.
Saw this mentioned on SonicTalk and had to check it out... Oh man, this is the most stunning thing I've heard in ages. Hans Zimmer's music treated in such an amazing way... heavenly. And what an advert for Arturia!
Thank you, Andrew!!
Hats off! I know Minibrute is a fantastic synth, but I would never imagine this possible. You have some great skill!
Thank you. Rok!!! Appreciate the kind words. To be honest, I didn't know until I took this challenge on. I will never get rid of my MiniBRUTE!!! Amazing little synth!
Amazing sound textures woven together harmoniously!
Don't usually comment on videos ;-) but this is stunning quality musicianship sir, I tip my hat and it deserves all the praise it is getting. Thanks to sonictalk for the heads up on this one too.
Thank you, Andy!
More please! I didn't want it to end!!!!
Bluejem Marche After 6 months, I was ready for it all to end. Ha! More to come. Imperial March in progress.
This is amazing.
Thank you!
Epic cover from an already epic soundtrack.
Wow.... This is soooo good. Tremendous interpretation. Major kudos ;)
Thank you, James!!!!
Excellent! Masterful! Wow! I will now put more time into my minibrute... Thank you very much for the inspiration!
Unreal.
One hundred and six out of ten.
I'll take it!!! :) Thank you!!!!
astonishing
Thank you!!!!
Bloody hell, that's stunning. Would love to hear an unmolested version, as the RUclips compression doesn't do it justice.
Thank you, Paul!!!
Every time i watch this it gives me chills
Amazing and inspiring, thankyou John.
THANK YOU!!!!
Great job ! Amazing
beautiful, inspiring, and well crafted
I hope Hans Zimmer sees this
this is incredible, hats off. I have a microbrute, not a minibrute, but I find this very inspiring for when I'm making sounds on it.
CHROMIUM HERO THANK YOU!! Looking forward to getting a MicroBrute.
Cool :) they are really fun to use and great value for money imo
Amazing work, congratulations from Argentina.
Thank you, Argentina!!!
Amazing
I keep watching this in disbelief. Absolutely amazing work. Congratulations!
Thank you!!!
Very impressive!
Thank you!
I wasn't expecting the brute to sound that rich! Excellent work!!
Beautiful.
Thank you, was feeling stressed out and not good and now it's a little better after these 5 minutes. Well done
LUKE!!! :( I'm so glad this was able to cheer you up!!! Hope you're day/week is better!!!
Phenomenal job! I hope i can learn to do something like this on my MiniBrute.
Thank you!!! Yes, you can. And Will! GET TO WORK!!! :) Thanks for the kind words!
You can, just do it
jamie munro I'm currently learning about synths. I'm mainly a guitar player who got inspired by Stranger Things to learn about synths. I also haven't done much recording and no mixing experience. So there is a lot to learn but i hope to get there one day.
Espectacular, gracias.
This is so amazing words can't fully describe it.
Staggering production mastery.
You have redefined what is possible with a mono synth
This is absolutely fantastic.
Thank you, Pete!!!!
Simply amazing! Absolutely mind-blowing sound design on the little MiniBrute. Well played, Sir!
Awesome cover version and brilliant use of the Minibrute!
Thank you, Ralph!
Bravo ! This brillantly played, arranged, mixed. You're a good programmer. It shows once more that less is more.
Thank you, Joel!
this is huge! thanks for that.
first time i have heard someone produce an actual melody from one of these! and its absolutely superb!!!
well done!
Wow! Most impressive! Huge sounding mix.
THANK YOU!! I did spend a lot of time on the overall mix. Much more than I originally planned, but I think we all end up doing that. Biggest challenge was trying to NOT make all the reverb to sound muddy. Thank you for the kind words!
Dude this is absolutely STUNNING work. I can believe how well you have recreated my all-time favourite scores on a single synth haha! Proof that we are often not limited by our gear, just our hard work and imagination.
Inspirational stuff mate. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Cam!
It really is stunning. Literally made me cry. So beautiful
A-m-a-z-i-n-g. Thx!
Congratulations. You're gonna break the internet with this it's so good. Damn. Think you need a millions synths guys? This is the power of knowing how to program.
Thank you, Dustin!! So much focus on sound design. Your kind words mean a lot!!!
genial. maravilloso!!!!
That was insane.
wow, well done!!!!
Thank you, Tom!!
Fantastic...
Beautiful arrangement, sound design, performance and mix. Mind blowing! Subscribed!
Thank you, Sebastien!!
Amazing job! If I could make it like this in 6 months these months would be probably my best 6 months spent with music.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun!!
this was absolutely amazing and I am a huge fan of Hans Zimmer and the Inception soundtrack in particular - impeccable work!
This is very special. So pleased that it's being recognised by those people, Arturia, Sonic State and others I haven't found yet, that this is up there with the likes of Wendy Carlos. Using a mono synth to create huge, sweeping sounds that once joined together become this wonderful piece of music! I'm sure Hanson Zimmer, I hope he's heard it, will appreciate how good this is? It's certainly motivating me to do more with, not only my Arturia synths, but all my synths, both hard and soft!
Thanks John, I hope your future roads will be lined with gold, it will be well deserved!
Super machine ! ;-)
