Even people in support roles has some crazy military tales. I was in the HQ company in a Combat Engineer unit in POL, basically drove a fuel truck. This one time in NTC, I almost got "Karen'd" by an armor Sargent Major. I was supporting the dozers (those gigantor D9s) that day providing fuel, oil, grease all the things to make a bulldozer happy. They were doing their thing, then this Humvee showed up, behind him, a line of tanks. I was alone, no radio for my HEMTT cause it's a fuel truck, and one Sargent Major who wanted me to top off his tanks. I politely told him that my mission was to provide fuel for my battalion's dozers and I cannot deplete my fuel for him. "This is the Army's fuel!" He yelled at me in a total Karen move in what he basically wanted me to do is disobey my company's orders leaving me with a bunch of upset dozer operators. Any veteran who has been verbally reamed by a high ranking NCO will tell you that it feels like an eternity. I almost cracked for this Karen's demands when one of the dozer platoon Sergeants saw this crazy scene of all these tanks, a screaming E-9 and a buck and change soaking wet me. He saved my butt, cause I think my unborn grandchildren would have gotten article 15s too. And that's my story how an E-9 went all Karen on me.
God damm right and there was young financial guy who saved my ass in Afghanistan when my ex wife was trying to take my pay. I saw something the other day that said “260 Navy Seals served in the Vietnam War. So far I have met 1000 of them”. It’s so true. Especially after I got out of the Army and started working as a DOD civilian. So many “SF and Navy Seals” out there. They asked me what I did and I’m like “I was just a Gun bunny. @@ismarwinkelman5648 not wrong doesn’t mean correct. I’ve passed numerous skill and progress checks because I wasn’t technically wrong. I just didn’t do it “the right way.” But because I got the desired outcome I was given a pass. From a psychology perspective, and I am well versed in clinical psychology and psychiatry from years of being a psych nurse, your logic doesn’t really jive. There a lot of people out there with low self-esteem and/or don’t really place any value on their accomplishments. Many of them live perfectly normal lives. Their lack of self-esteem and self worth may lead to bouts of feeling depressed while never rising to actual depression. Feeling depressed and having depression are two very different beasts. We can snap out of feeling depressed pretty easily. Being depressed? Not so much. But it’s actually being depressed, that is to say having clinical depression, that causes issues that can lead to an overall decline in other areas. But some 70 year old fuck at the grocery store? He lead a boring ass life, worked a job, got married, maybe raised some kids, and that’s about it. The highlight of his week is probably having a couple of drinks at the local bar on Wednesday night. Guys like him invent a history of being a black ops badass to compensate for all the things they never got to do. Jesse Ventura has been doing it for 40 years. Claims to have been a Navy SEAL and did all this hardcore shit in Vietnam. Truth is he was UDT and spent his 4 years in the Philippines playing basketball and banging prostitutes. I think the closest he ever got to Southeast Asia was a port call in Hong Kong. Jesse definitely has mental health issues as well as neurological issues. But this old man? He regrets the life he lived. Many men his age do. I’m not trying to give this guy a pass. Far from it. Tar, feather him, and ride him out on a rail for stealing valor. But there’s absolutely zero indication that these guys who steal valor have any type of psychiatric or psychological problems other than being baby back bitches. And that’s not a clinical term.

I was with some seals once, kinda stationed you could say (assigned seats), well they asked a few of us to help train them, so we did as asked (now this may be classified). We tossed those beach balls high into the air and to our amazement those seals sprung into action catching and balancing those balls on their noses. Now you may not have access to every seal training database, and I'm sure you can't access a list of all the volunteer seal trainers that have ever gone to SeaWorld.

YES. I remember every thing today. I went in 1975 service 6 years NG. I remember my Drill Sergeant name. My service was a deck hand and engineer on a 45 foot Army ( ST). I remember everything.
It takes 1 maybe 2 questions and I can tell if someone is full of shit about their military service. My Pa and uncle were Navy and marine Korea veterans I was 82nd ABN. I appreciate that you don't let these guys' age deter you from calling them out. While I certainly agree that we need to respect our elders, when it comes to stolen valor it doesn't matter how old they are. Many folks will say "He's an old man. Why not just let it go?" Why? Because it's fucking disrespectful, that's why. And the absolute last people on earth we're going to allow to be disrespected are our Navy SEALS. Anyone who knows anything knows that those guys put in a shitload of effort, and put them selves voluntarily into extremely dangerous situations so that the rest of us can live free. I think Springfield, MO has got to have, by far, the highest concentration of Navy SEALS in the entire world. As an Army recruiter there in the 1990's just about everyone I contacted had a brother, cousin, uncle, father etc, etc that was a Navy SEAL. Strangely, most of them did Double Super Cosmic Top Secret stuff before they got kicked out of the Navy for punching their commanding officer after just a year or less of active service. Haha! Anyway, thanks for what you do, Don. Much respect.
Haha I've only been to Springfield briefly during a cross-country drive but I can totally see it. It's funny how quickly you can pick up on the little cultural nuances of a place.

Any real service member who truly served, always knows their training class numbers, all dates of deployments for conflicts and definitely all remember the very day they retired. The vagueness and 'cant remember' of their time active duty. What a sad life these fake posers live.
My grandfather served in WW2 as a Marine. Age robbed him of a lot of things before he passed away at 95 years old. He knew he was discharged as a Gunny after 5 years. He knew he served in the Pacific and could name the battles he was part of. But he forgot a lot of things. He knew he fought in Midway, Guadalcanal, the Philippines, and even made landfall in Japan. But names, actual locations, dates… lost to the sands of time. He could recall a few guys he served with but not many. He didn’t have Alzheimer’s either. Younger guys like us? We know when we enlisted, separated, what our ASVAB scores were, when we graduated basic training, what our training class number was, etc., because we’re still young and healthy enough to have that information. Now this guy in the video is just full of it. He probably never served anything beyond Thanksgiving dinner. But just because someone can’t recall doesn’t mean they didn’t serve.
@@dr.floridamanphd respect to marines but navy seals go through further training with less recruits and even less graduates. Hard to forget your brotherhood you trained and fought with when the circle is much smaller.
Probably, but not always. I served, but I don't remember my service number in boot camp or the date I was discharged. I didn't receive a DD-214 either. They gave me a 'Separation Authorization'. Hi Don, I love what you do it's just a shame you have to do it. Anyhow, it seems to me you need a few highly publicised successful stolen valour prosecutions in the USA to get the message out that this fraudulent behaviour is not acceptable. You & your channel are doing a great job but more mainstream media coverage of this issue should surely help. Keep up the good work & all the best from the UK. 🇬🇧
Flew down to SoCal last week for a nephew’s baptism and had my first direct run-in with stolen valor, and the clown was so easy to spot (of course, watching Don’s videos helped). So, strike up a convo with a dad at the party as we’re watching our kid’s in the pool, and he told me he was a stay at home dad, and I complimented him; but then, he starts embellishing random stories, which was obvious, and odd, then finally he casually mentions that he’s getting deployed AGAIN next January. I was interested of course, and surprised since there was no prior mention of service. But his stories kept evolving, and I was just asking basic stuff about what he does. And every time I stopped him with “wait, I thought you said you…” the guy would get noticeably uncomfortable and start sweating more than a hooker in church. It wasn’t my place to call him out and make a scene at my nephew’s party, but it was tough, so finally I just ended the conversation halfway through his story about how he started as a cook but somehow got pulled into combat when they were under attack, and he never turned back… straight from Cuba Gooding Jr. In Pearl Harbor 🤦🏻♂️. It was so weird to see in person; such a pathetic thing to do. I didn’t know this was such a common thing until stumbling across this channel, but unfortunately, it is.
It was a hot day when I met Carl on the set of The Andy Griffith Show. He was an unemployed male dancer now working security at the TV Studio & I was his new hire. We had just arrested a group of tourists from Nebraska who attempted to get within 400 feet of Aunt Bee, as per Carl, we were required to keep her safe. After fingerprinting & jailing them, Carl told me he liked my style, especially the leg kick in taking down a 69yr old grandmother to the ground & my use of zip-ties. He said he's building a "Classified Team" to train all agencies of the armed forces to patrol the studio grounds. I said I was in & was given the code name, "Goober". Along with Otis, Floyd the Barber, & Barney, we all performed "Seal-type" training certifications in the pond on set-including a swim across it & shooting some tin cans off a log, thus becoming the first-ever Hollywood Seal Team or "The 5th". Aunt Bee was our contact for assignments until she passed in 1989. The team was dismantled with the promise to never speak about it again, even if pressured with a garden hose & charger clips.
You left out Ernest T. Bass. Not at all surprising really. He seems the type to be so highly classified and compartmentalized that most likely even Carl wasn't aware of it. Very interesting story man. Any word on whether or not the Darlings were CIA?

i think the genuineness of the show would be lost cuz then they'd be subject to ratings and legal and all the other stuff that sucks the life out of it. eventually theyd get paid actors to play phonies and it would probably devolve into a lackluster "reality show"

The 4 navy welders I work with will make you aware that their welds hold our country together.

Don and Diane you both make my day everytime again !
At this point, that’s a way more believable story than he was spinning.
Shhh...don't tell everyone!
You left out Ernest T. Bass. Not at all surprising really. He seems the type to be so highly classified and compartmentalized that most likely even Carl wasn't aware of it. Very interesting story man. Any word on whether or not the Darlings were CIA?

You know Don sometimes I think your going to run out of these clowns to expose but almost every week I'm proven wrong. I feel sorry for him after looking at his picture, he more than likely found his hat in a dumpster and someone said something positive to him and it took off from there. Thank you Don and the wife there, Diane and you are the greatest. 👍♥️🇺🇸
Never fails, they are like cockroaches. Worked with one at Home Depot that always had this bull going, went to Tractor Supply about a year later and not long another genius popped up and now have met a few more while trucking. I think I attract these idiots because I look like I don’t have a clue, I do and I do love to mess with them and watch them come unraveled.
With Top Gun: Maverick coming out Don might get a break as the great pretenders will switch over to being naval aviators for a while.
I love Diane’s little chuckles in the background
I was a retired subway team leader, led team 400 class 34 of year 16 special division completely, classified for the next 800 years, due to a Biden bill pass that makes my records classified way longer then I’ll be alive. But we had to jump out on a active run way planes and jet as both taking off as we are landing, snotty he got obliterated by a low flying jet, but we had to get inside a fighter and take off and shoot down MIGs in WW2, I lost a medic who had a engine malfunction, and he couldn’t heal us he had to emergency land and his gear was down and the jet skirted across the landing deck of the air craft Carrier. And he ejected just in time. And shot down 12 migs with a PP18.
I was dog fighting over Tokyo just before we got into Vietnam, but I had to jump out and parachute into a submarine, got 34 Purple rains and 1/2 golden star for my outstanding sub way team leading
God bless America 🙏🇺🇲. Love your show . Happy memorial Day weekend thank you for your service
Dear all spec ops vets:
Do not allow your gal to donate ( to Goodwill or the Salvation Army ) your old issued shirts , caps , patches
etc … If you don’t want them , burn them . They almost always end up in the wrong hands .
They can order whatever they want online much faster than rummaging through good will looking for something specific.
Ahh, you ever hear of, "Brigade Quartermaster" or "U. S. Cav"? They're mail order companies that specialize in military surplus. Ever hear of an Army-Navy store?
“It’s Don Shipley bro” 😂
Much as I find this funny, the majority of that guys life has clearly been a lie and thats sad.
Every KP and latrine officer deserves the same respect as a Deal or SF. Thank all who served in uniform.
Love you Don. I love Donald Trump too. My 2 favorite Don's. Keep the vids coming.
I’m BRITISH BORN N BRED I AGREE THE TWO DONS 🙏👌👍👋👋
@@johnthomson495 👍🤙
I almost feel sadness for men like this, clearly they left their lives completely unfulfilled! With that said, I love it when Don lights their asses up
Military personnel think they deserve respect for something they chose to go into. Imagine having so much pride and entrenching your entire identity into working as a SOLDIER. This channel shouldn’t even exist.
Edit: *American
I wasn't in the military, myself due to a medical problem. However, if, you don't like it, why don't you watch something else? He's talking about exposing fake military people.
People who lie for something they never were or didn't do.
