2005 sportster 1200 If I go this route, what other parts should be replaced ? I pulled the tank to look and noticed one of the eight bolts is broken off at the head, so obviously a set of those, but what about a gasket kit 🤔 thank you for your time 🤙
The only other parts "needed" are a gasket kit, which can be seen as an option at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/86-06-sportster-rocker-lockers-reduce-top-end-ticking-noise-dk-rl-spt-8606.htm And a manual for your bike, to be used in conjunction with the instructions, which come with them, and that you can see at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/wysiwyg/engine/rl/bte/BigTwinEvoEarlySportsterRockerLockerInstructions.pdf Feel free to email or call with any questions. I spent nearly a hundred dollars on a Harley Service manual for my particular year Sportster. Just got my Rocker Lockers in today, but how can I do it without any torque specs? I wish people didn't write service manuals just for the sake of writing. I wish they were written so we could actually do the work.
I am not certain what bike you have, but the Rocker Lockers can be installed on the bench or on the bike. You can see the instructions for the Twin Cam Rocker Locker installation at this link - www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/wysiwyg/engine/rl/tc/TwinCamRockerLockerInstructions.pdf Please feel free to contact us with any questions; support@dkcustomproducts.com 662-252-8828 Thank you for commenting! 😎 MB
Other than preventing the ticking, they have no other benefits. So I would not go through the hassle of installing them if you are not having the ticking!
I suppose the nut and washer are simply for installation purposes. Once the locker is in place you remove the washer and nut then move to the next three? But what about the O rings?
That is correct on the washer and nut, just used for installation. You see the o-rings are included with the kit at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/rocker-lockers-for-harley-davidson-twin-cam-motors-dk-rl-tc.htm
I have a 2020 sportster. Do I still need these or did HD already fixed the issue? I have hammer performance cams and not sure how to differentiate between the sounds.

Does your Service Manual not say what torque specs you need to apply for the Rocker Cover? MB
Are you sure you got the service manual? Because it's not a service manual without torque specs
can i install it dont remove whole box out. Like one bolt out, locker in and pres it with original bolt. then same thing for next rocker ?

Would this just be a good upgrade to do if you're not having a ticking sound

Do I need to order 2 packages for both cylinders or is 1 package for both cylinders
One package has what you need for both cylinders. 👍

Yes, these are useful, even with Perf Cams. No, HD has not changed the design.
What do you do when you need to change rockers? How easy is the Rocker Locker to remove>

they are easy to tap out if you need to take them out.
Great idea too bad harley didn't think of it to begin with. If I ever have to pull my tops off I'll do this then
they don't think about a lot of stuff, that includes automotive company's.
