Just sitting in my kitchen watching this video, pots in the sink, washing piled high for the machine...can't resist I'm going to get my paint! Thank you Andrew.
30:47 "then stop, and if you think you're gonna get up to mischief, go on with something else," is the most wonderfully British way to express to not fuss or let perfectionism disrupt the process. I've always been curious about watercolor in part because it's great for fighting perfectionism, the beauty is in letting the paint do what it's going to do, and it allows me to let go and relax a bit. Thank you for these wonderful lessons!
10/11/2021 USA Grandpa Bill: Well sir, it took you 3 minutes 32 seconds into this one video to inspire me to subscribe and then examine the videos you have and finish this one. I feel you are a blessing and I am glad you have put some of your work, thought, methods out here for us to learn. Thank you for being on RUclips.
I think I've learned more about watercolour painting watching 2 or 3 of your videos than all of the other videos/books etc I've looked at. Beautiful work.
I love your style! A lot of people just keep repainting areas multiple times and doing endless layers, but you manage to do almost everything in the first layer. It is so true that it keeps it looking fresh! I'm integrating this more into my painting now, and the result looks a lot fresher too :) I especially love how you do your skies. So much flow!
Your way of painting is unconventional, much deviated from what is being taught by most of the prominent artists on RUclips. You paint every object separately. Interesting .loved it and learnt a lot.
Hi Hello Andrew! I just tuned in to your channel and what a delight to learn from you! Thank you for showing me all the steps you take, including how you set up your paints, water, etc. hardly anyone shows this process. And thank you for taking the time to talk through how you use your brush, not to touch all the buildings with the sky color, not to go over areas twice, how to paint elsewhere in the painting so you don’t go back and fiddle with it!
Many thanks for your kind remarks. Much appreciated. If you visit my website www.andrewpitt.co.uk there are more videos and workshop films as well as guidance/studio notes to help fellow painters.
I love your videos! Thank you! This is what I have been looking for. When I was younger I was trying to learn to paint watercolor. I could not find a good teacher. I paint with watercolor, but not in your fresh traditional style. THIS is what I have been wanting to learn! Ty
Another beautiful masterpiece Andrew. The buildings looked so dark at the beginning but it all came together nicely when you put in the lighter colours around them.
Thanks. The first marks are always the most difficult because any tone looks too dark when compared to the acres of white paper waiting to be painted. But it is important to allow for this by going a bit darker than usual otherwise you end up having to paint everything again and bang goes the freshness.
Thank you! You’ve inspired me to paint again. I love the looseness and depth of your color choices, with just suggestions and not “too much.” Knowing when to stop is always hard, but you just made it easier.
It's funny. If you just clicked videos and not payed attention to the names or titles, you can still recognize the artist by their pallet arrangement alone. Thank You Andrew. Another great video.
Andrew, your paintings and painting style are becoming endeared to me as a starter. You are quite a prolific painter, and your techniques are oh so relatable to viewers at all artistic levels; thank you sir

It is really helpful to see how you choose and mix your paint too! Thank you for teaching! You have an amazing talent! Your instruction gave me some courage to try clouds.
