Kevin Coyne is performing Marlene(from the MARJORY RAZORBLADE LP sep 1973) Life is almost wonderful tour 2002 together with Brendan Croker Leffinge, Belgium, November 16, 2002
1. Anything by Kevin C. is superior to the usual dreck posted on youtube. 2. Kevin C.'s legacy will last forever. 3. I wish there were more young musicians like him. Alas, I don't see any. 4. RIP, Kevin.
Seen Kevin several times in Manchester in the 70s early 80s, he never short changed you. Had a few beers with him . Unassuming genius. This Marlene clip is powerful. Thanks Kev. Mike.
I've spent almost the last two hours watching these pieces of concert footage. He was an amazingly riveting stage presence (apart from obviously being a complete one-off). I just saw one concert in 1983 in France. I remember him being so effortlessly witty - and - he might not have admitted it - wise in the ways of the world. Or maybe that is so bloody obvious anyhow-). He is still missed.
Marlene official release But this is a live version and then Kevin improvises a lot. 👍 (Kevin Coyne) Girl of my dream, Marlene You know who I mean, Marlene You're just a dream, woah Marlene You let me come in, let me come in Cos you're there every night, Marlene You are just right, Marlene And I turn on my light, woah Marlene You let me come in, let me come in Paper is torn, Marlene Paper in the warm (?), Marlene And I've just been born' Marlene You let me come in, let me come in Chorus: I say hey, hey pretty girl hey Turn off my light, Marlene You're just as bright, Marlene Come here tonight, Marlene Why don't you let it come in, let it come in Chorus Paper is torn, Marlene Magazine worn, Phone's off the wall Marlene Why don't you let me come in, let me come in Powdered paint, Marlene Paper on the wall, Marlene I'm having a ball, Marlene You won't let me come in, Let me come in !
One day YTb will vanish but Kevin Coyne will come back. Life prevails!!!! Viva Kevin Coyne!!!
