Saw him and chatted with him so many times in the early to mid seventies. Got to the point where he actually came down into the bar of the venue to find me and my then missus to chat before the show. Always wanted him to get the success he deserved. Miss him so much. He always had quality musicians around him. Zoot Money, Andy Summers, Archie Legget , Gordon Smith etc.

This was early 80's , Stavanger, Norway. From the top of the shafts, starfjord c, I'm taking tomorrow off . Kevin Coyne is playing at Jazz loftet. TAke the first boat a shore, shower up, Jump in my yellow morris minor , and I\m away. Come to town , I had bought a ticket a week in advance, . But the que was around the building and already up the stairs. Well I did have 16 blues harps in the car , so I filled the pocket of my vest, and started playing, We're having a party, bandmember coming through. I don't know how many songs I played before I got to the top , Two Bouncers had me in a choke grip, and called to Kevin , is he a member of the band. Of course , it's him were wating for!

saw that guy 1980-14-06 Rettel Festival, France aside with the clash (london calling) and the cure (17 seconds) ... and he kicked them all with his performance. one of the best. hope you did enjoy the rockpalast show also.

i hoped he gave up drinking ;) but yeah, what loss. saw him at the contern festival 1981 aside of clash & cure - and he blew them off stage.
