I know this video is a year old but guys are still watching it and got the Netgear GS108 at Walmart for $48. The one you are using here shows that it is a 5 Volt. The GS108 shows that it is a 12Volt. I cut the power wire from the block and wired it with the intermittent white striped wire to negative and the wire with the small print to the positive. When I turned the GS108 on it fried. Got another GS108 and reversed the the power plug wires and it powered up with no problem. The positive is the wire with the intermittent stripes.
Ooo this isn’t good. I apologize that my video seemed to be misleading in your case with the GS108. That is strange that Netgear would not be consistent with their product. I will notate this in the description.
Thanks for the great video. I just finished up my Livescope install networked with a netgear switch. I had to use a GS105, which is a bit too tall. I took the feet off.
I fried the GS108 and even had a 5 amp inline fuse. I believe it blew the fuse because i had the fuse on the negative wire coming from the GS108 to the positive on the battery. You can look on the back of these netgear units and there is a small diagram that shows that the positive is the stem of the plug and the neg is the outer metal sleeve of the plug. Take a test light after you connect to battery and clamp (neg) onto the outer sleeve and put the point into the stem and if light comes on you have it connected properly without risking frying the netgear unit
awesome. new sub. I have the great granddaddy to your boat the pro17. and there is even less room in it. I'm gonna have to rethink and redo my setup. I just added a second 93sv also.
Very good video! That showed me that I can do it with the 93's. One question... What adapter did you use to go into the black box network slot? Thanks for sharing....
@belowaveragebassfisherman574 I'm sorry about that. The net gear switch to the live scope black box. The black box has a pin type connection. That still may not mask sense. I don't know the proper names for all that.
The black box should come with an adapter that connects to a standard garmin network cable. The garmin network cable will act just like an Ethernet cable to plug into the netgear box.
Hey nice content. I viewed other video that doing the same thing as you, but i'm a little confused on your setup and I hope you can provide a little clarification on your setup. How are you getting away with not using a power/voltage regulator?
My netgear box says it’s rated for 12 volts which is what my battery is. So time will tell. If I’m wrong then the worst thing that can happen is I have to spend $20 on another box and buy a cheap voltage regulator.
So is there anyway to set up so that I could use both transducers (panoptics on front /gt54 from console) from 2 units on both screens. I only have a single Ethernet ports on both units? Hope this makes sense. Thanks
Mine works fine. Check your wall socket power adapter that came with it. Should say that it converts your electrical outlet to 12V. Either way, you can buy a voltage regulator on Amazon if you are worried about it.
So the console transducer goes on the back of the boat? Where do you put the transducer for the bow mounted one? (Not the livescope, the one that came with the fish finder)?
I have one GT56 transducer mounted on the trolling motor and one mounted on the transom. They are connected to their respective Garmins. Transom to the console graph and trolling motor to the bow graph. You do not have to use both transducers if you have all of your graphs networked together. You could use the live-scope transducer at the bow and a GT56 transducer at the transom.
@@belowaveragebassfisherman574you have the two gt56’s? I’m assuming you’re just running them at different frequencies? I’ve got the 106sv at the bow and thinking about getting a 94sv for the console or the lowrance.
@@shaneadamsre yes. I cannot remember the frequency I’m running. I’m not at home or I would go look. But yes, I have one on the front and back of my boat for each graph.
@@belowaveragebassfisherman574 what’s the main reason to have a transducer on the front? I just ordered a cord to network mine together, so wouldn’t the one in the back work fine?
I run my livescope off of its own battery (50AH lithium) it will last multiple days. The Livescope black box only uses like 2 amps per hour I believe. I have the netgear box hardwired into my boat.

what fuse did u use for the livescope on the black fuse box ? or Livescope comes with the fuse already ?

What amp fuse did you use for that netgear box?
I think a 5 or 3 amp
Are the auxiliary wires pre connected to your battery in the back of the boat?
Yes, those wires are pre installed from the factory. I believe for the standard fish finder that comes on the boat.
I just looked at this netgear tonight at Walmart and it didn't say 12v thought it said 9v so how is yours holding up?

Yes

You didn’t put a fuse in for net gear .?
Yes there is a fuse. Just didn’t get it on video. It will not have power without a fuse to make the connection.
What size fuse are you running in the fuse block for the net gear box?
I believe it’s either a 3amp or 5amp. It calls for a 0.5 amp but I couldn’t get that. So far I have not had an issue out off it though.
