Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!

I don't think so--he was running from something. Watch him look back after he stops to see if it's still behind him. It's a huge energy drain to run through deep snow like that, and they don't do it unless they really have to. Whatever it was, I'm glad he got away--he was a gorgeous young buck!

0:08 CSX 9969 still has its flashing light like the Metra locomotives do! (9969 is an ex-MARC unit that goe its wide cab in 1998)
0:42 FEC red and blue doubleheader being raced by a Brightline train
2:20 vapors coming off the radiators of these units
2:30 NS 3496 moving alone through Roanoke Yard
2:40 another new VIA Rail train
2:52 Maryland midland hopper and NS scale test car.
3:02 executive MAC still with a BN nose logo leading solo
4:06 mega caboose! (again at 5:12)
    4:58 K&O Wichita State unit!
5:18 BNSF 4-unit light power move of all older EMDs
    5:33 8-unit lash-up with two Ferromex unis and a 25th Anniversary GEVO
    6:10 Loram grinder in action
7:39 a streamlined lounge observation on a flatbed over Horseshoe Curve
    9:30 Raineir Rail action
10:40 Amtrak 100 "Midnight" racing an autorack train
11:04 CSX long-hood-forward local running parallel to an Amtrak
14:36 sounding the air whsitle on the caboose!

19:14 CT Rail GP40-2H. It used to be in New Haven colors until 2018 when the CT Rail branding was adopted for the new Hartford Line. The Shore Line East also got CT Rail branding at the same time
19:50 9-unit UP lash-up with an Al Gilbert locomotive which might be a Brookville BL20CG. Central California Traction is the largest operator of Brookville freight locos
20:48 one of CT Rail's Metro North P32AC-DMs still in New Haven livery.
21:48 M8s are all jointly owned by Metro North and CT rail
23:06 camera is completely frozen! I don't mean the image is stuck, I mean the camera is covered in ice!
23:53 ex-CEFX unit never got the new blue paint
25:45 one of two CEFX AC44CWs that were leased to CMQ. CMQ recently became part of Canadian Pacific
26:16 Amtrak 130 on a Pennsylvanian with a Viewliner baggage right behind the loco

    • @randallellison6421
      @randallellison6421 6 месяцев назад

It could be something as simple as carbon deposits building up in the exhaust and burning as the locomotive accelerates. The worst case scenario is that it's a turbo failure, which if the diesel engine is not shut down, could cause catastrophic engine damage and failure and setting the locomotive on fire!
