How about a VST dedicated to the majestic sounds of the elusive and mythical jackalope? You'd have the delightful combo of a rabbit's soft thumping mixed doing its thing with the unexpected clash of antlers. Great for many use cases.
@@toddfrombethesda6963 If you need a plugin with that many door sounds for $200, you probably have enough work and funds to get access to a reasonably priced pro foley recording studio. 🤷🏾♂️

for people who do scoring, door sounds are kind of a whole sub niche thing. people sit there designing precisely unique door sounds for hours like we do synth sounds. 😂 it's wild but yeah that's a thing lol. a dedicated plugin makes sense.

The idea that Prince would be in favour of people AI synthesizing his voice is downright absurd. That man was obsessive about his work and wanted full control of it, even going so far as to comparing himself to a slave to the label. The idea of any random stranger being able to use his voice would be his worst nightmare.
I have a plugin to clap in my arsenal. Used it a few times, then, I realized I can clap myself and sound different every time. This reminds me of it except the clap plugin was free. 😂
Back in the day there was a box you triggered with a electronic drum set called a clap trap if you listen to any of the late 70’s early 80’s music you probably heard it.
Haha, man I had such a laugh watching at this. Jokes aside, but Hollywood really needs this plugin as I swear every door squeaks exactly the same in movies, regardless if it's a horror or comedy.
Keep in mind when you see the large amounts of $$$ "for artists/musicians- having their works infringed/stolen"... they only mean the popiest/big label 0.09% of "artists"... & even they won't ever see 97% of that $$$, but rather all the labels/lawyers/board of directors & "rights-holders"it's Tenesee (because of the Nashville labels) .
That Fender Guitar $2000 to $4000 tops and that's if its a US custom shop model, if its just part of the mass made US range it will be $1500 ish (from Fender direct or a Music chain/Shop)
I think the market is so saturated with plugins, developers struggle to come up with something that hasn't been done before, so that's why we see all these door, dog and cat plugins lately, that really no one needs. I guess that's one of the main problems of developers: the need to constantly release stuff in order to make a living, regardless if the market is already saturated or not.
7:57 yea i’d heard it was because it had the best brand recognition of all of them. and most likely the others will still exist as subbrands, like putting brainworx on anything analog modeled, putting izotope on anything for mastering, etc

Give us more weird plugins like doors, seriously. The stranger the better. Is good for game design for sure. If making your own game, sound design and music, stuff like that is just so helpful
The modular DJ controller is nothing new, Behringer had some midi/programable usb modules for DJ software that you could mix match depending on your needs but they went under the radar and got discontinued sadly.
The doors thing does a lot more than doors.... Keys in locks and opening and closing noises. Not just the doors near enough for you to record decently. Lol 'a grimes song that doesn't suck'
I mean at some point in your daily routine I like to assume one would open at least 1 door. I honestly use my phone all the time to record things I think sound good, plus then they already have a "sound" cause it was recorded with a phone😆 perfect for the sample type sound
There is a Kontakt library for steps, it helped me when I did Foley for a movie. But the door thing is a bit meh, how many doors can you close in a movie?
"Imagine the guy who has to record all these. I feel sorry for him." You know, some people work construction and retail. I'd rather record doors, personally.
1. UVI also has a Footsteps library. 2. Foley is more common in today's music than you think. 3. Has cinematic use cases for sure 4. Have you heard Michael Jackson's last few albums?... Littered with Stomps, footsteps, door slams, engine sounds, creaky doors, etc
@Weaverbeats sir.... I did not say I would spend 200 on it lol. But if you do movies or just need a different sounding foley/perc this is nice. I used it in a few beats for a demo then only chose one beat.
Fender Deluxe reverb amp for twice the price of what they usually cost.....why? drum roll please.....because ...its all black (Like usually the face plate is silver and that is the only difference excluding the Laurent name plate)
I think you immensely, terribly, extremely underestimate both the overwhelming amount of diegetic sounds a sound designer needs to choose and place at every point in any piece of modern media, and the huge pressure placed on them by directors to not reuse sounds. Couple that with the work place reality of huge budgets and tiny amounts of time and 200$ seems so cheap that they'll find it suspicious. In fact, I know that some sample library developers make unnecessarily expensive libraries because that means the samples are less likely to become old news because of the conspicuous suddeness everybody will be using them on everything everywhere. There's even a big closed off industry that will only sell to the big players, and they in turn are willing to pay thousands of dollars for the exclusivity
yeah i cant see myself wasting hdd space on door sounds, not even for the games i make on the side. i seriously though "is it april fools?" when i heard about unlocked.
